Great CM

I used Rooneys base card at the start of the game and he was a great CAM/CM for me. I really liked his previous cards on previous fifas so as soon as i saw his if i bought him for 160k (xbox one). Yes i overpaid him because i was impatient. I do not regret at all, so the price he is going now is cheap as hell and now in this fifa he has finally medium-medium work rates not that stupid medium-high!

The pros

First, his shooting(87). Because he was a striker before, it is still high and you can play him as a ST if you want, he can finish his chances easily and as a CAM he is deadly from every position on the pitch be it inside or outside of the box. With his high curve(89), high shot power(92), his outside of the box finesse shots are broken. 9 out of 10 times it is a goal.

Second pro is his passing(85). I use him as a CDM (more like a deeper placed CM in the 4-2-3-1(2) formation) and his short(86)- and longpassing(87) is perfect. His vision(85) enables him to pin-pont passes up the field to my striker from behind the half-line, easily starting a quick counterattack.

Thirdly his composure(92) and aggression(83) with his strength(85) and balance(81) makes him a good CM as he always fights for the ball and it's not easy to shake him off as he is like a crazed little bulldog fighting for his favorite little ball. Even if he has low defending(58) stats, be it standing tackle(56) or interceptions(60), his aggression and reaction somehow makes him able to tackle in the midfield. It honestly feels like he has 80s in defending stats, i just can't understand how this works, truly it's just the work of EA magic, as some cards are preform way above their stats, and Rooney is one of this type of cards.

The cons

I can only bring up his stamina(79). I found it that as a CM he gets tired around the 70-75 minutes but as a CAM it's not that big of a problem.

The second con is his heading, yes he has good heading accuracy(83) but his jumping(77) is medicore and in the midfield taller midfielders can overpower him in the air easily.

All in All

Great card for a great price! Easy to link up and he is a solid card for any midfield. He can play a lot of role for you, be it a free kick(86) taker, great passer and long shot taker. This is why i love him, i can use him anywhere i want from CDM to ST! After playing only lets say... a week of fifa you should amass his price in coins, so it's a no brainer if you need a good CM for your team and his pace is not a problem, i slapped a Catalyst chem on it and went up to 81 pace and to the midfield 75 and upwards pace stat is good enough!
