Schweinsteiger is a very versatile midfielder, he's pretty tall at 6"0 and he has 80 in every card stat other than his pace - at 65 - which lets him down slightly. The thing i love most about his card is his versatility as a midfield sub. His solid defensive stats (namely his 88 interceptions, 82 Stand tackle and 83 strength) means that he can do a good job as a CDM who will win the ball back in a deep position and then play it forwards to a teammate with absolute ease and his 98 composure means that he will never stumble when under pressure, paired with his 89 long passing and 87 short passing he will always get the ball safely out of harm's way. As a CM he is brilliant because of his great all around stats and his 89 ball control which means that he is unlikely to lose the ball. He is good as a CAM because of his powerful and accurate long shots along with his solid curve, short and long passing and his brilliant 89 vision. I believe that his best position is a CM because of his versatility and his lack of pace (which leaves him less suited to a CAM role) I would rank his top positions as follows:
5. RB (occasionally the suggested sub will tell you to put him at RB but it's a badddd idea he lacks stamina and isn't fast or agile enough)
Oh yeah, and he's completely free so you're getting an 88 rated card for nothing (the easiest way to get him is to go on single player seasons and scored 10 downwards headers using a really tall player like a CB because the opposition AI are dreadful)
Height and jumping
Poor stamina meaning he should be used as a sub
Lack of pace
Not very agile, poor balance
This card is probably one of the most fun cards I have played with all of this year. His long shots are absolutely amazing and his ability to shield that ball is top class. I have him in a team with 85 Werner, Aubameyang, and 86 Batshuayi and his passes are on point. He threads balls through to werner with ease and he can play a long ball or switch the field like it's nothing. His cons are obviously his pace but if you play like I do (Lots of passing) you shouldn't really feel it all too much.
Loses lots of stamina
Hard to link through the MLS
if you have a German squad then Bastian's card is a peach. 1st plus point is he is free meaning that you can sell a player from your squad and replace with Bastian. I find him brilliant, he wont score or assist much but i have my CDM as non attacking. His interceptions are really good, He hardly losses the ball and can spray it around a bit. If in position his long shot can be very effective. After 10 games he has 2 goals but that is out of 4 shots so a good return. His defensive positioning is really strong and he will link with a very good German Cb pairing. Depending on your previous SBC players he would link well with Kaka and Pirlo. I find his stamina to be more than fine as he isnt going to make 30-40 yard runs. He will be a reliable high rated card for your squad. If in the future you fancy a high rated SBC you also have the chance to use Bastian but you wont be to get another so maybe not worth trading. If he played in Germany and this was a tradable card i reckon he would cost over 200k. As it stands his league in a minus but his nation makes up for it. Definitely worth using. Note - try not to judge all midfielders and attackers on goals/assists only. Its hard to avoid when its the only info we have but in general if your winning then the team is working. Would love an average rating ,clean sheets , pass success in future FUTs.
Cost vs rating
Composure ( great in defensive cards)
League (not a massive issue)
Nothing else , he is a solid 8 out of 10 in most cases.
Do not listen bad comments, this guy remembers me the old Schwenny, the beast. Obviously stamina is very short, but depends on how do you play. I focus my game mainly on possession, when is possible. I just play with counter attacks when the other guy have what it takes.
So this guy is highly recommended for that style, same as IF Kroos. They don't need pace, they are always in the right place. and their shoot.. Wow.
His place on earth is next to Prime SBC Pirlo and Prime SBC Kaká, in the middle triangle of a 4-4-1-1.
He's the real Schwenny, that's it.
None. Too good and too cheap to complain.
When I got this card, I thought I was going to be bias toward him because I am a Chicago Fire fan, but this card is amazing anyways! I play him LCM in a 41212(2) formations, and he gets a goal or assist every game for me. On his debut as a sub for me, he got a hat-trick in extra time! I have play 35 games with him so far and I love him. His stamina is ok but not great for a CM, but he has a great all around card. 80's in every stat apart from pace is fantastic, and since I only have about 200K budget for my teams, he is a fantastic free 88 rated card. One thing I love about his are him long shots and passes. I love hearing the commenters say: "He lets fly!" as the ball soares into the top corner of the net past David Dea, Fahrmann, Neuer, Ederson, and other goalkeepers I come up against. His passes are onpoint, and he is a reliable CM for just a little bit of your time, but hurry up before the SBC is gone!
He has fantastic passes
He is 88 Rated for (basically) free
He has great all around stats
He is reliable as a sub or starter
Can play in almost every mildfield position
He is tall, 6'0
Not super pacey with his 65 pace
Stamina is only 69 for a CM
