To start out, I love Dennis Bergkamp and especially enjoy screaming THERE IS BEAR CUM when he scores, something he does quite often. This card is no joke. I turned in Rui Costa at 6:03 yesterday and got this card by 7:30. Rui Costa, by the way, is exceptional if you'd like dog shit at your CAM postition. Bergkamp has completely taken over his position with full authority. The man can shoot like a trained KGB sniper, and can passes like he is Einstein. The man is a genius. Shooting finesse shots is incredibly easy with him (82 curve is a lie). His long shots at 85 feel like 99 (I'm not overexaggerating) and his pace his truly amazing. I play him with the Hunter Chem Style and his pace feels like 92-93. Please do yourself a favor and get this absolute machine.
Assists: 13 - multiple from crosses, great at this.
Shooting - can't miss
Dribbling - surprisingly agile, 94 ball control is crazy
Strength - look, he won't shrug off Bailly and Boateng, but he will take on the common midfielders like Vidal, Nainggolan, Bakayoko.
Pace - I use Mo Salah who is the fastest player I've ever used, and Bergkamp is able to somewhat replicate his runs.
Well, let me start this review by telling you that Bergkamp is outstanding. All the stats i am going to talk about include the boost he gets with a Finisher Chem Style. I tried him with an Engine as well, but trust me: Give this guy some strengt and increase his shooting even more, it will pay off. I played him at CAM in a 4231 next to Rui Costa, Litmanen and Hernandez.
Let's talk about his cons first to get them out of the way.
The first problem I had was his work rate combination. His medium defensive workrate will make him help out in defense a bit, but a huge problem is his medium attacking work rate which means he is gonna need some time to get back to attack. I also didn't like his Heading Accuracy (64). Being kind of tall (6'0") makes him win headers, but he won't really score a goal this way.
Alright, but now there are a lot of positive things to mention
I don't even know where to start as there are so many things. I already mentioned his height. He feels very strong his 87 strength, will win headers and most importantly: he still is agile. He does not move like a rock or train like other prime icons with low balance do. If you have problems with it, try out Engine. But for me, 81 Agility and 82 Balance are enough on him.
By far his biggest pro is his shooting. With the chem style it goes up to 98. Trust me, he is not gonna miss a single shot. That's why he is a game changer as well. Even if your opponent is dominating you, Bergkamp can score you a banging long shot (99). But his shooting abilities are nearly unlimited. Finesse shot? Easy. Low driven finish? No problem. Left or right foot? Doesn't matter. I want to stress his Shot Power (99). Sometimes I thought Bergkamp wants the goalkeeper to fly into the net while trying to save the ball. His Attacking Positioning (94) makes him a goal maschine that will score every game.
Having 84 Pace at CAM is enough anyways, you could also play him at ST. You will have to increase his pace then. Talking about increasing pace with chem styles, his next pro is his flexibility. You want a strong player? Give him Finisher. You want an agile player? Give him Engine. You want him to be quick? Try Hunter.
His Stamina at 82 could be better, but he is not gonna run that much with his M/M anyways, so 82 definitely is enough. Didn't have to sub him off within 33 games.
I also want to mention his defending. For a CAM with 37 defending he intercepts a lot of passes. His passing is pretty good as well. Don't really think it's that special, but he gets the job done.
height, physicality (especially strength and stamina), dribbling (especially balance and agility), shooting, shooting, shooting, attacking positioning, 4* WF, 4* Skills, passing, you can adapt him to you style by using chem styles
work rates and heading accuracy
After having played around for 150 games with Dennis "Iceman" Bergkamp, my youth hero and all-time favorite player from my home nation, I decided to write a review about him. This might be slightly biased though.
Bergkamp can play as both a CAM and a ST and is very prolific in both of these positions. I've used him mostly as a ST in either 4-4-2 or 4-3-3(4) and played him around 20 games at CAM (with Engine chem style) when I was trying different formations. I think he's slightly more suited as a CAM due to his exceptional passing and long shots, aswell as his dribbling and relatively "decent" pace, even though 84 is not low at all.
The legend of Iceman continues in this iteration of FIFA and he is truly a wonder to play with, he really feels like an icon and is way better for me than any other striker I've used. This includes TIF Aguero/90 Henry/93 MvB/Auba. He feels very smooth on the ball, which was most surprising to me. I think his dribbling stats reflect what this man was capable of when he played his best seasons at Arsenal. His hold up play is unparalleled and playing him at striker made all of my other players play better due to well placed passes. He finishes almost all crosses and other set-ups from my players, that is if they are placed low. That brings me to his one of his only downsides to playing this guy at striker, which is his heading. He scored around 5 headers for me, but missed more than twice as many. Another other slight annoyance is his M/M workrates, so make sure to properly set your instructions since he tracks back sometimes which is undesirable. Mine are at press backline, which keeps him forward a bit more.
However, Bergkamp can shoot on target from pretty much anywhere within 30m of the goal, has a fantastic finesse shot and finishes almost all chances he gets in the box. With his dribbling and 4*/4* he can create for himself aswell. He has the chip shot trait which served me well in certain goals I guess, but is generally a "whatever" trait. He scored around 1.1-1.2 goals per game for me and together with his assists it's around 2.0 G/A per game, which is a fantastic return. I play mostly divisions and squad battles though, as I can't really be bothered with the 40 games of WL.
All in all I think Bergkamp has changed my game the most out of any player I've used, and has done so in a great way. This guy is truly a game changer whether you play him at CAM or ST and is exceptional in this game.
- Exceptional Passing
- Long Shots/Finesse/Finishing
- Pace is good enough, esp. with Hawk/Hunter/Engine
- Physical for such a technical player
- M/M (if you play him ST)
I did the Bergkamp SBC because I wanted to try a striker that was a little taller and slower than most players I've used and so it was a bit of a gamble. However, after getting using him for 5/6, making sure I had him playing in the right position with the right chemistry style, I can happily say it was worth every coin. I initially tried him at CF and then at RS, and didn't find much success. But once I used him as a lone striker with two wingers either side, I found his true potential. Despite being 6", he can still pull of close-control skill moves to get out of tight situations and when you do and you find a bit of room, just shoot. Most of the time I have confidence that it will glide through the air into the back of the net. And this holds true for his week foot as well.
Also, from inside the box he is great at pulling off low driven, and especially low driven finesse shots, to guide it past the keeper. In his 47 games for me so far, he is on around 10-15 hattricks from Div 1/2 and some fut champs also.
Also, his pace is rarely and issue for me as I have two very fast wingers that I can lay the ball too if nessecary.
I used a finisher chem style to pretty much max out his shooting and give him 87 strength.
-Powerful, accurate long shots
-Great composure when inside the box
-Can use skill moves effectively
-Fantastic week foot
-Great pace for a tall striker
-Passing can sometimes be inaccurate
-Can feel weak without a chem style
Just hours ago finished the SBC for his card and wow.. Just wow.. What a card it is! I previously did the Schmeichel SBC as I thought "92 GK? Fuck yeah!". But sadly the Schmeichel was absolutely terrible. So I decided to trade him in for the SBC and use my untradables to do the the Bergkamp SBC. Now I don't usually manage to qualify for FUT Champs weekend league but tonight I managed to qualify in less than an hour. He made 3 people rage quit from some insane shots that none of my other players could make. I played him at ST in a 4-3-2-1 with fast wingers but he wasn't at his best, he was amazing but it was when I changed my formation to 4-3-3 (4) with POTM Salah at RW, Martial at LW, Aubameyang at ST and played Bergkamp behind him at CAM, he was sending passes miles down the pitch that were insanely accurate and his pace and strength meant he could join the attack too to help Aubameyang. I see the others complaining about his heading but with a Hawk on him he doesn't do too bad. All his stats feel a lot higher than they actually are. It's great, definitely a card worth getting!
