This guy.. this guy is the team itself.
Other than other reviews, I think I reviewed him myself and it's enough as I played more than 150 games with him included as the main goalie.
To be honest, against the noob players with bad players, they can score against him sometimes.
But against STRONG TEAMS that include Messi 98, Pele 98, and other amazing players, this keeper does his job like nobody else!
I confirm that he's a black spider against pros, and he protects me from losing in any game in FUT Champions.
Saves long shots
Jumps on top of all players in corners
Ability to save ALL types of goals if you control him before other team shoots.
He can't save headers (Remove this con if you got tall, strong defenders that protect you from headings)
Honestly, I have never seen a goalkeeper that is so bad. I feel scammed by EA. I was so happy as I saw that Prime Schmeichel and Prime Luis Hernandez were released. I sold everything and got them both. Luis Hernandez is great, but the player i have to review now is probably the worst 70+ player in the game. He is making a lot, and i mean a lot of mistakes. He only saves the most average shots in the game. Except for some moments he makes a good stop, he saves nothing. I would rather get a silver gk than this guy.

- He is expensive as fuck. (400k-500k)
- As Icon he obviously links to everyone, but his nationality isn't the best
- He makes a lot of mistakes, A LOT.

I had been using Peter Cech and had no problems. When I saw that I'd be able to use my two untradeable Scream cards along with a couple other untradeable cards (Cech included) to get 92 Schmeichel for ~350k coins I thought it was a great deal. Unfortunately it turned out to be the worst "deal" I've ever made in FUT. This guy lets in EVERYTHING. Do yourself a favor and avoid this card like the plague. 350k is a lot of coins. With those coins you could get in form Gabriel Jesus, Dybala, LB Petit, or just build a decent squad.
He occasionally makes a decent reflex save?
You get some good packs by doing the SBC (I actually packed Ibra which makes it less painful)
Can potentially be used in an Icon SBC down the road
Lets in shots that any 80+ rated keeper would save
Is expensive
Will make you sad
Back in the days when I eagerly watched ManUtd matches me and my friends quite frequently called Fabien Barthez "The Brick".
Don't really need to explain - his goalkeeping abilities during his time in England were nearly equal to a piece of brick left on the goal-line. Sometimes even worse.
You know, after Schmeichel left ManUtd the expectations were high, and they couldn't sign a proper goalkeeper for years.
Here in FIFA 18, seeing Prime Icon Peter Schmeichel's performance in my team brings me back those days - if I put a piece of brick in my box, i guess it would stop more shots than this guy.
Absolutely rubbish goalkeeper, his reflexes and motions are in 3 seconds delay, both sometimes when he sees someone shooting from 45 yards, he simply decides to collapse without moving any limb.
I wish I had the coins back.
Occasionally some shots hit him right in his chest preventing a clear goal.

A brick laid in the goalline has better goalkeeping abilities.
I just pulled a Pogba by completing the 84 rated squad of the Schmeichel SBC, sold him and went on to complete the whole SBC.
Used Courtois before, but often, especially at strikes from near distances i was kinda disappointed when he missed out on some saves.
With Schmeichel, there are a few things you have to do manually in game to unleash his full potencial. He's not the best in saving long shots although his stats look phenomenal. What to do? Since I conceeded a few longshots, I now use the right stick as often as possible in order to get him to the far corner. In addition im trying to position my defenders to guide attackers to positions where i can be sure Schmeichel will make the save. Longshots have been no problem since.
In close distances: an absolute beast. especially those from non straight angles. He always gets a hand on it and saved me a couple of times. 1 vs 1: ist almost 50:50, no matter what runs at him. Saves finess shots as if he done nothing else all his life and even gets to some low driven shots.
I would prefer him over courtois surely and put him just behind de gea if. I don`t get why he gets so much hate in these reviews. Put a shield on him, put some effort in your defending an you've got yourself a true legend that'll often save the day.
At the moment, i'm using him in my epl squad with Baines, VVD, Bailly and Valencia. Obviously every keeper would appreciate a defense like this but he stands out imo.
Been using him in division 1 and WL where i finish around gold 2 to elite 3.
- Incredible reflexes
- Longshots are not a problem
- even saves some low driven 1 on 1 situations
- 280k for the SBC (untrad. and some luck on open biddings), cheaper that de gea, usable in every team
- Not the tallest, better have some tall defenders to clear corners and crosses
- no long throw
