So i got blessed by EA to pack this card in the guaranteed icon SBC. I freaked when i saw this lil half man half God pop out. With 4 star weak foot and 5 star skills i could tell this card would be pretty unstoppable, especially before TOTS dropped in, to my amazement he was. For the 250k i spent on the pack he was worth every penny. I highly recommend this card if you can afford him.
Everything! He's fast. With open ball play he is probably one of the best strikers i have ever used compared to Firmino, Del P, Kluivert, Crespo and many other top strikers. His ball control is unreal and with the 5 star skills lunging tackles just make the defender look stupid. His shooting is godly. With high composure and amazing finishing he very rarely misses the target, when given the chance to shoot. He hits the ball fairly hard and his right foot finesses are the most broken thing i have ever seen.
His physicality isn't the best with 72 strength and low aggression but he can still keep the ball every so often when pressed because of his agility and ball control.
He isn't the best defender...DUH! But i do find he can win the ball back and press a back line because of his raw pace. This can be effective when on high pressure or when pressing in the opposing half to win the ball. Using him as the start of the defence can really press back lines and even win the ball back for an easy goal.
Baby Pele is an absolute animal.
Pace of Aubameyang (Fake shot will accelerate him past any defender)
Shooting of Van Basten (ALWAYS shoots on target, no matter where the shot is coming from)
Passing of Kroos (More assists than goals as a ST in my 4321)
Dribbling of Neymar (5 Star Skills, 5 Star WF, Insane Agility)
Stamina of Nainggolan
Defending-Surprisingly adequate. He is so quick that he can put pressure on any back line. However he will not make any crunching tackles
Strength-Unlikely to hold off an oncoming CB. However, they should never even get close enough to challenge the ball.
I bought baby Pelé when the market was crashed. He cost me around 550k. I had to write a review on this guy because now, there are so many awesome players in FIFA 18 that it is hard to find a gamechanger when you play in high divisions (2 / 3 for me. Pelé is the guy that allowed me to play the Weekend League and to go up in Div 2).
I tried him in both positions (ST/CAM), with a 4-2-3-1 (with 3 CAM).
- as a ST, he was incredible: long shots, finesse shots, finishing. But I had the sensation that CR7 was better at this position (positioning mostly. In counter attack, CR7 is always positioned upfront in the field, while baby Pelé comes back in defence and so you must wait for him to go back upfront before attacking) and I have him in my team so it was not consistent for me to put him as a ST. If you are looking for a great ST, take regular CR7 rather than baby Pelé (and save 400K). I think what made CR7 better as a striker for me was his workrates (High/Low) compared to the ones of Pelé (High/High). But if you absolutely want Pelé as a ST in your team, you can't be wrong. I am currently looking for a ST which could do what CR7 does with a better first touch, because I want to keep CR7 as a left CAM. No one could be better than him in that position (he still scores almost every game as a left CAM). But let's come back to Pelé and see what he does when you play him in a center CAM.
- as a CAM, the show "Pelé" begins and you do understand why Pelé is Pelé. Even though on the card, he is only rated 91, baby Pelé is from another category of player and feels like a 97 rated player. He has everything: long shots (all kind of shots), finishing, positioning, RUNS (his best feature I think, which you can notice only by playing with him), passes. He outpaced almost everyone and when he can't, thanks to his runs and his positioning, he can still beat any defender.. His physicality is no problem at all. His dribbling stats are so high that it never happened that I got pushed away from the ball. Morevover, when he loses the ball, he will fight for it to get it back. He is a good defender too and that is also why he is better as a CAM than as a ST. He has a 4 star weak foot, but if you do not try to score the goal of the year with his left foot, you can still score finesse shot and others. He is the most complete CAM I ever tried (amongst De Bruyne, baby Maradona, Prime icon Del Piero, Messi, Griezmann, OTW Mbappé 87).
To conclude, please: BUY HIM. I do not know about Prime Maradona or Pelé icons, but I really do not see what a CAM could do better. He scores, defends, runs (he can last 90 minutes without problem, extra time maybe but anyway he will not be the guy that you HAVE to replace) and give assists. I do not remember his stats with my team but I know that he oftens scores and assists and that he is often the man of the match. I will definitely keep him until the end of the game.
Headings (but I almost never score with the head, so it is not a problem for me)
