Picture this:

You're climbing up Mount Everest. The air is thin, cold and it hurts to breathe. You're almost at the top. It's so close. It's taking every ounce of strength just to prevent yourself from falling down to a grizzly, icy death. Your body aches, and with every inch you move upward you can feel your muscles screaming at you to stop. You want to give up and go home. The rest of the path is too steep, too hard. "It's impossible" you think, "there's no way I can get up there." You say to yourself. You think about how hard it was just to come this far, the effort and training it took. But what more can one man do? You look around, desperate for a sign, something, anything to influence your choice. You look to your right. Large clouds of snow, ice and rock, being forced down the mountain to make way for a being much greater. You can hear thunder, the roar of a mighty beast as it comes crashing up the mountain. The clouds of ice and ash part, and that's when you see it. The 5 o'clock shadow. The parted blackish-brown hair. The physique, much like that of a middle-aged accountant. "My friend." You think, with a single tear streaming down your right cheek. With a fierce war cry, Deco sprints up the side of the mountain towards you, and hoists you on his shoulder. "If you cannot climb, then I shall carry you." He says. "I cannot repay you Deco." You cry. "There is no need." He replies, as he takes you all the way to the top.

So here's the moral of the story: if you look to your right, Deco will be there. If you look to your left, Deco will be there. Whenever you need, wherever, Deco will be there, making a bombing run straight through the defence to get one on one with the keeper. He will stop for nothing, and nothing will stop him.

I used his 87 card before and was amazed by it and i decided when his prime drops, i'll get him. His prime card is boosted that much that it's totally worth it to do it, instead of buying his 87 card. The same can't be said about Pires, so imo if you want to do one of the two, do Deco instead and Overmars if you need a LM/LW/LF!

The positives

His dribbling(90) and passing(91) is Messi like. To be honest, i felt his dribbling is even better than Messi's. He was agile like a monkey, turning, twisting instantly, dancing and hopping around defenders and midfielders.

His passing ability is top notch, he gets the ball to anyone you want, be it short(95)- or longpass(91). His composure(88) enables him to pass precisely even when sandwiched by two opposition players!

His speed(83) feels faster then on the card itself, because of his high agility(86) and incredible ball control(94) and dribbling(90). Slap an engine chem on him and he will be one of the fastest CAMs in the game.

Yes, CAMs. He comes as CM, and you can play him there, but you are wasting him there. I dropped back Rui Costa to CM as he is much more adequate there then Deco with his strength.

Lets talk about his shooting. His longshots(87) are deadly, but finishing(75) if you do not use a chem stlye on him that boosts his finishing may miss chances for you, so keep that in mind! I use deadeye on him so he has 90 finishing, thats pretty good no?:)

Lastly his stamina(88). It can last him trough the 90 or 120 mins, so there is not a single problem here.

The negatives

His jumping(42) ability and strength is bad. So don't except him to win any headers, that just won't happen at all. His low strength(65) makes him loose the ball when a defender shoulders him and his low aggression(65) doesn't help him get it back. But. BUT! His high balance(85) sometimes counters it, and there was instances where i could keep going after a failed tackle attempt, get a pass trough while he was falling down, and let my striker score the goal.

Just keep in mind, he is a tricky player, one to dribble trough defenders, not going shoulder to shoulder, or you WILL loose possession!

The conclusion

Great prime icon for great price. Just like Rui Costa. If you have the spare coins, do him. Even if you don't like him, you won't get a central icon for this price anymore and you can exchange him into other SBCs later on. There is nothing to loose here, only to gain!

I have never played with a more useless player! He's not able to make a simple pass around any other opponent... OK, his shooting is 79, but it really feels like shooting with a 43 rated shooter. The only positive thing I can get out of this card is his ability to take corners and long free kick... His corners are absolutely insane. BUT WHAT SO EVER, HE IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH! Not even worth 5k
