This card haunted me for the first week of Fifa. the price for an 82 rated card? The hype? Is he worth it. He must be, but perhaps not? I want to try.. But what if his price drops?
Forget the thinking. But the damn card. I play him as a CM in a 4-3-3(2) formation. So he is very attacking for me. I can only hint at his defensive capabilities but with his workrates.. please don't waste him!
Power - this includes pace, strength, dribbling, shooting, heading, jumping and tacking all in one. He plays a lot like Yaya in his prime. A man mountain. Decently quick. Deceptively agile when needed. But he can and will power through tackles. Not one, Not two but three or four. He can then play a pass and will continue his charge to receive the ball. His shooting can be precise or he can launch a cannon. He can even sometimes combine the 2. (though only ever use his left.) He will win headers from goal kicks and get them to a team mate. He will make interceptions and tackles to start attacks. He will be integral to your game as a CM.
Passing - his passing range is great. He will flop with some of his over the tops to players but his short passing is fantastic. He will link up with whoever you play him along side.
Price - honestly i imagine this is how Viera would feel. An icon for 25/30k. Bargain. (though for an 82 rated card that sucks.) But with his ease to link to other leagues.. amazing.
Weak foot - the one true flaw behind this card. When passing it isn't apparent. He has scored right footed shots with timed finishing (i wanted him to use his left but.. oh well.) but outside of the accidental it is simply useless.
Stamina - This card has incredible stamina. But i make him run and run and run. He is integral to me so he does sometimes need to be replaced. However do so with caution because he has won me games in extra time with literally no stamina remaining. He is that good.
This guy is such a beast. When i started my first WL, i thought Mbappé was going to be the MVP of my team. I finished 20-10 and i can say, Kondogbia was the real MVP. Is height is amazing in the midfield and he wins a lot of headers, and if you put at front post on the corner, you are not suffering a bicycle kick from the corner, because Kondogbia is going to head it out. He can perform skills perfectly, from a guy of his height its amazing. Is shot is good to because of the power he puts on his shots. And the thing i liked the most, Kondogbia owns the midfield, his strenght is amazing the get the ball back when you lose possession on attack and you can even put at CDM and run from your box to your opponnent box because his strenght doesnt allow him to lose the ball
I bought him at the very start because all I ever saw was that he was the meta. Kondogbia was the best player in Fifa. 2 months later and I still do not see it. He has TWO STAR weak foot. I don't understand how a professional footballer is given a two star by FIFA. His trait is literally "avoids using right foot." His passing is affected by this drastically. He makes this worst passes ever and his left foot can barely do them much better. He will save you though running back and bodying the player off the ball. That's all. Suggested player is Arturo Vidal. Much better shooting and passing and defending. 4 star weak foot. Lacks some physicality but fix that with a chemistry style of your choice.
What a player. Seriously. He's insane. I haven't used Gullit and probably never will as I'm a poor boi, but I guess this is what it feels like. You want to play him as a CM? Sure. CDM? Hell yeah. CB? Oh god yes. CAM? Okay. Striker? Sure. Goalkee- actually no, don't ever play him as a goalkeeper. Let's move onto the review.
PACE
Not shocking or anything. Pace isn't really important this F|IFA so you don't feel any issues. It's okay.
SHOOTING
This is where the fun begins. His long range left foot shots are out of this world! The issues begin at close range finishing, ALTHOUGH he does score from there as well. Scored some right foot goals for me too, even though he has 2 star weak foot.
PASSING
Really good short range passes. His long passes aren't anything special.
DRIBBLING
Pretty good dribbling. When you first look at him he would seem like a guy with 2 star skill moves and 60 dribbling. That's wrong. He somehow has 4 star skill moves (not complaining :)) and his dribbling is ok. I like to do ball rolls and roulettes with him. And if skills don't work, he is such a strong lad he will push many players away. He sometimes feels kinda chunky and non agile.
DEFENDING
For a player of his price, incredibly good. He's amazing defensively! I play him at CM and he does well defensively even though he has got medium defending work rates and high attacking. His interceptions, standing and sliding tackles are so good. Might as well play him at CB, just tell him to stay back and he won't support the attack that often. Also can we take a while to appreciate his headers? Once he scored a header from like 20 yards. His heading is amazing.
PHYSICAL
Probably his strongest attribute. He is so strong he pushes almost anyone away (except Van Dijk, man i hate Van Dijk) with his 91 strength. His great jumping really helps him out on his magnificent headers. His stamina is ok on paper, but he tends to get tired kinda quickly (probably because he attacks a lot) but it's not that much of an issue.
Overall I can say he is one of the key players in my squad and I will never sell him. I can only imagine what his Europa League card is like... Jesus.
-long range shots
good pace
decent dribbling
absolutely great defending
headers
strength
short passing
multi position player
his stamina is kind of a problem, i dont find it that bad personally
I first bought Kondogbia right at the start of fifa. I heard reviews that this guy will be a beast. After 20 games I thought that this guy was amazing, however he was surrounded by 79-83 rated players. Now I have 83-89 rated team and played a lot more games and he hasn't been playing well at all. You look at his stats and see that he has a good all rounded player. First you see his 73 pace, but with engine you can feel the difference and it quite fast. Thats one of not many positives. His 79 dribbling is okay when he is running in a straight line, but when it comes to turning around he is significantly slow and very sluggish, this does not change at all and for a player like me who likes to pass around it isn't good at all and looses the ball every time. His 73 shot feels like a 50 shot as the only goals he has scored are tap ins from rebounds. In addition, it says his traits are finesse shots but has never hit a finesse shot on target for me. His passing is alright but his 2 star weak foot leads you to only make him pass with his left foot. And wanting to turn around to use his left foot, you have already lost the ball for how slow he turns. The worst part comes here his strength and physical. I play in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation where I play Kondogbia as a CDM and his work rates leads him to be never in position. Furthermore, the 83 defending he has does not feel like that at all when he looses around 90% of the tackles I take with him. Also, the 88 physical feels like a strikers strength and is constantly shrugged off the ball like a child. Overall, he really doesn't play well for me and his stats on his card look great, but do not fall for that. If you want a good CDM for very cheap, get Thomas Partey he is significantly better. If you want a high rated get Casemiro.
