Decided to give this guy a go since i was in need of a defensive midfielder from France and La liga. Would have gone with Kondogbia but his price is a bit steep. Anyway, I've played 30 games division rivals with Coquelin, as the central midfielder in a 4-3-3-formation, and I haven't seen him once. It's like his not even on the pitch. And the thing is, I kind of like it! I don't know but it feels like he got some stealth-op going on where he is running my defence without ever touching the ball. He's locking shit down. Maybe. Cause I haven't seen him. But the feeling is that he's doing really well.
Honestly this man isn't anything spectacular. He is solid. Stable and predictable. Amazing.
Positioning - His H/M workrate is perfect for a CDM. Him sitting in front of your back four will provide so much confidence. He will rarely join the attack but normally he is sat, waiting.
Tackling - As soon as he is needed he is there. He has the uncanny ability to ghost into the right position when you need him. You swap to him and boom - slide or standing the ball is yours.
Passing - His passing is... actually very good. he got a few assists for me but he started many many attacks for me. Perfect.
Strength + aggression - he will give away the odd freekick. (his aggression is through the roof.) but i like that style. His strength feels fantastic. he will muscle the attackers 99% of the time.
Shooting - He scored a couple of headers in the 50 odd games i used him. But he cannot shoot with his feet.
Stamina - He sometimes could get tired towards the end of the match. Playing counter attack this shows as he is always moving for me.
Price - for me it bugs me he is 15x more expensive than his normal. with +1 in each stat it doesn't seem right. But still a great card!
