Before I start my review - english isn't my main language so if there's any mistakes, apologies in advance. Anyway, onto the review;
We can all agree, keepers this FIFA are an absolute mess. You could have an 82 rated keeper and some games he plays better than a 92, or vice-versa. Well, Yashin isn't any of that, everything you see in the card is what you get in game.
Diving: 95 (99 with basic chemistry style) 10/10. Very, very good diving. Covers the whole goal at full stretch, despite his height only being 6'2. There is only a few green timed finesse shots that get past the Russian wall but apart from that, he saves everything. Longshots, Low Drivens, Power Shots,Set pieces. you name it.
Reflexes: 96 (99 with basic chemistry style) 10/10. Superb. Along with his positioning, the best bit about this man. Has very good reflexes to help him save his shots. If not his hands, always makes sure to get something on the ball. Very wise when it comes to corners and freekicks, makes sure the ball always ends up in his hands.
Positioning: 95 (99 with basic chemistry style) 10/10. Yashin's positioning is top class. Now that EA have introduced moving your keepers, positioning is absolutely crucial. With the basic chemistry style applied to him, he is always at the right place at the right time which makes moving him a lot more quicker and easier. On set-pieces and corners is positioning is brilliant. For corners he's always at the perfect place where he can catch or punch the cross away and won't get beaten at the near post. In free kicks he is also perfectly positioned.
Handling: 89 (99 with basic chemistry style) 10/10. When Lev Yashin makes a save, he catches it. The only time he doesn't catch it is when it is extremely close such as in the 6 yard box and shot with power and even then, if moved right, always makes sure to get something on it.
Kicking: 75 (85 with basic chemistry style) 9/10. I'm a player who mostly plays narrow formations and doesn't like to risk possesion so I don't kick much with him I just wait for my team to re-organise and throw it short and build from there. I rarely kick it with him but when I do he does the job well.
Speed: 65.9/10 Very quick off his line. In a 1v1 situation he is fairly quick and is out of his box in a matter of seconds. Very fast and agile for a keeper, and if the opposition's player running at my goals takes a half bad touch Yashin will react quicker and get to it first.
Going Forward: 8/10. No, seriously. Over the course of the 274 games I played with Yashin, he has got 27 goals and 3 assists. Most of them are from penalties, if I'm winning by a lot I let him take my penalty for a change, just to see him celebrate with his fellow team. The other few are off last minute corners when I'm on ultra attacking. Unlike most keepers who just ignore the ball Yashin is active in the box and a little distraction from his marker and he will punish him. Here's a clip to show you what he's made of - the clip is not mine. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHALQm1AZ14&app=desktop)
Overall: 10/10. Unfortunately, I am too young to have watched him play but if he played like he plays for me on FIFA, there is absolutely no wonder as to why he remains the only goalkeeper to have won a Ballon d'Or and saved over 150 penalties.
Oh, you think this card is great? like you expected „year review“ in the youtube rewind 2018? NO!
Dont buy him, really
I wrote an review about casillas and there is a lot of text in it because he is great
But you expect, a Yashin 91 is better? NO!
His diving is the worst i have ever seen in my life
Like Sunday League Keepers!
Reflexes?! Awesome BUT they are only looking cool but so ineffective like a pokémon hurting it himself
Positioning? WORST
Handling? ALSO WORST
as i said, dont buy him
i played 10 weekend league games with him and 6 games from it i lost 5-1!!!
and 2 games 9-1!!! (and if u think now, i am lying, than why should i say this? its really that bad for me.)
I dont know what EA did my friends.. last year his 91 (not his 94) was my russian wall.. what happened?
Nothing, really
Its expensive
BUT A VERY FUNNY THING: you can shoot with him some goals, a friend of mine owns the 94 and he told me his 91 should it do also... AND i scored one epic free kick with him :D
