Due to me being a huge Chelsea Fan, Prime Lampard was a goal of mine to have during Fifa 19. I finally had enough coins to buy him this weekend and was so happy to put him in my squad. I wanted to have Lampard as a player to get up the pitch and bang in long shots every game, but was met with a different play style. With his H/M work rates, playing him at CM would be a perfect place to have him attack and defend to always be in position for shots and be able to create play for the rest of the team. However, he seems to not like to attack up the pitch. He sits back a little too much and rarely makes runs. With this being said, when we did attack and could get a shot off it went in 9/10 times. One easy way to combat his lack of attacking I found was to play him central CAM stay forward. He was able to stay up and play the final ball through into space for a close finish from a striker, and also be able to intercept the quick build-up play from the opponent to open the attack up to catch the opponent off guard. The shot power and long shot combo on the card is phenomenal. His time finesses from outside the box, if aren't blocked by AI defending, seem to always go in top bins. His passing is phenomenal as well. His long balls are put on a tee for attackers to run onto and rarely fail, his through balls have the perfect weight and are played into the right space, and his short passing make it easy for 1-2 passes to spread out play. His dribbling is surprisingly good even though he is not as agile as other players. The major con I can see is his pace, which is very obvious from face value of the card. He is not going to be able to outrun defenders on counter attacks but doesn't need to. He can easily just play the ball long to counter and will help you very much to catch the defense lacking. If you need an attacking player to bang in 2 goals a game I do not recommend this card. If you need a strong player who can make perfect passes for build-up play and bang in long shots every game from 18 yards and back, this card will be a massive help for your team.
Passing (Long chipped through balls being the more impressive)
Frank lampard is one of the best box to box midfielder. I’m a Chelsea fan and i know how amazing Lampard was in his prime. I’ve always wanted to try him so here I did. I’ve used a shadow chem style on him and he’s literally everywhere. He attacks and defends quite quickly despite his speed but, his physicality is overcomes that. He’s tall so he’ll win headers just like he scores a lot of headers for me when there’s a corner. I play him in a 4-3-3 (3) formation at the LCM as I tried him at CDM in a 4-2-3-1 narrow and it didn’t work as efficiently. He’s more of a box to box midfielder and I wouldn’t try him as a CDM as his skills are wasted.
His is passes and long passes are amazing! He’s so composed when passing and dribbling which is the best attribute for a midfielder to have. When my attackers get in behind the opponents defence, I can trust Lampard to do a lob pass or a regular pass to assist the goalscorer. Honestly I would definitely recommend this card!
His pass range is excellent. He can assist with beautiful long passes. Honestly you would be amazed.
His composure on the ball is great especially for a midfielder to have. He’s so composed with small passes between teammates and while dribbling with the ball.
Work rates are amazing! He’s more of a box to box midfielder if you use a shadow chem style. He attacks and defends in time of the play and counter attack.
Since he’s tall, he’s managed to score a decent amount of headed goals but most importantly he’s able to win headers while abusing his physicality.
The only thing I can say is that his pace is quite low however that’s not really important as first of all he has decent amount of pace for midfielder but also, his strength and physicality overcomes that problem. Other than that, he’s the best.
Where to start.. When i saw the SBC, i was hesitating between him and Trezegoal (yeah not the same role)
As i loved Lampard IRL, i decided to choose him, i am completely disappointed.
I tried this year Gattuso, Makelele , Hierro , Yashin as icon and you feel they are definetly better than other 'normal' players. You feel that they are ICONS.
I tried Lampard as CAM, CM , CDM, was not convinced at all,
Long shots are a joke... Firmino is shooting way better.
Passing is good but not exceptional ..... Makelele is better :D :D
He is like Kroos with a little difference in PACE
I Sacrified my prime gattuso for him and i am not Happy :( Ea please bring me back my Gattuso ...
Dont buy him :D or think of doing his SBC. I am waiting for the next SBCs to get Rid Of Him .
Lampard I love u :D but i dont like your FIFA Version
