Great striker
By TheKingofKings, 05-03-2019

Diego Costa was the first tall striker in Fifa 19 that was great for me. Even after the last stat changes he is still fantastic.

Pace 9/10 (speed 10/10; acceleration 8/10)

Usually, a striker is either fast or tall, but Costa's

pace is incredible. As soon as he hits his top speed, almost no defender can

catch up. However, it has to be added that obviously his acceleration is worse

in comparison to smaller players like Mertens who have an advantage over him

but it is still good. The only player I used that was in his ball park of

pace-height combination is Cristiano Ronaldo who easily beats Costa at

acceleration.

Shooting 9/10

He is great at scoring counterattacks, corners and

narrow in box shots as well as one on ones with both feet. His low driven shots

are good but the new Fifa has also affected him. While heading corners seems to

be easier, he does not always find the right spot and is therefore not always

able to score from crosses. Anyways, if he gets it, he will score 90 percent of

the time. Shooting from distance works pretty fine. The only reason for him not

being the perfect scorer are his bad free kicks and his imperfect volleys which

he scores most of the time but not consistently.

Passing 6/10

For a striker his passing is okay but you should not play him as an offensive midfielder because his passes are not really precise (the father the distance the worse the pass).

Dribbling 8/10 (no skill dribbling 9/10; skills 5/10)

Contrary to his bad balance, bad agility and height, he is quite agile because he can turn and react quite quickly. However, you should probably not try to dribble past the whole defence. His skills are limited because of his 2 stars. Anyways, if you know how to use these, they can be helpful to win a one versus one because he is pretty fast.

Defending 4/10 (defensive ability 2/10; pressing (9/10)

Of course, this might not be as important as his other abilities and he is certainly not usable as a defensive player but his strength and speed make him great for winning the ball early and scoring easy goals. One defensive advantage is his height which is great to win headers and hold the ball.

Physicality 10/10 (stamina 9/10; strength 10/10)

This is his stronghold. While his stamina is not perfect, Costa is able to score throughout both halves and even in the extra time and that is important. Giving this man a 9 out of ten would be a disgrace. Costa does lose a physical duel and when he does, you get to score a penalty. There is no defender nor midfielder who can stop this monster without a foul. The only player causing problems was Van Dijk player of the month and year. Obviously, he is great a shielding the ball.

Puts the Ball in the Net

As the title states, Diego Costa is good at one thing and one thing only: putting the ball in the back of the net. As someone who is normally pretty wasteful in front of goal, finding a striker that can do this with consistency is priceless and Diego Costa fits that requirement perfectly. If you're like me and you grind out 1-0 or 2-1 wins, Costa is the perfect striker to make the most of the handful of chances you have in ...

Spanish Jim Hunter

I got this beast during the very first UCL SBC where you get loan Aubameyang and two untradable UCL cards, and after 132 games with him, I thought it was time to share my opinion. In general, he doesn't fit my fast ball movement and agile attacking play style, but he is great at holding up the play for a secondary striker or CAM, in my case Rodrigo or Isco, to make a late run to catch the defense off guard. Well it's either...
