I bought this Future Star because I had trouble grinding for Icon Swaps with my Ligue 1 team. I played in Division 4 and couldn't get the wins together. I had some matches in Divison 5, but mostly he played in Div 4 for me. I bought him for 100k to replace Gold Depay in my team who was a really cheap option, that did good in Divison 5 but struggled in Division 4. So I had to make a move and I found this beauty.
His Stats looked nice at first sight. 90 Pace, 86 Shooting and 85 Dribbling coming along with 88 Physical. I bouth Dembele already equipped with a HAWK Chem Style, so I sticked with it.
That boosted him to 95 PAC, 91 SHO and 92 PHY which is a insane combination. You could also boost his passing, but I come to that later.
So I played him in a 3-4-1-2 with Payet as CAM behind him and Osimhen POTM as a second Striker. I like to play fast to my two Strikers and generally have possesion and keep the ball rotating quickly. Then I try to feed the strikers with my CAM. A second option are coming over the wing because di Maria and Martins are super fast, so I try crosses from the side.
So my strikers need to be quick, have a solid vision and also power through defenders.
Now, how do his stats feel ingame?
PACE 9/10:
He feels really fast, with Hawk he has 91 ACC and 98 Sprint Speed. And thats true. He starts fast and if he is through, there is no stopping him. Because of his physicality, even if a Varane or another quick CB catches up, he maintains on the ball and powers past them.
SHOOTING 9/10:
Positioning 99 Finishing 95 Shot Power 99 Volleys 87 Penalties 99 - do I have to say more?
Does he miss? Yes, of course. But does Mbappe or Ronaldo miss, too? I think so.
He senses danger and because of his strength and aggression he steals balls and makes runs into dangerous areas, so you will get your chances with him.
His righ foot is deadly, his left foot (3* WF) is really nice if you just blast it past the keeper. Don't try to make a fancy chip or finesse it past defenders. Shot Power 99, just to remind you. Shoot the goalie through the net and don't think about the concequences. He sometimes feels a bit clunky on the ball, but if you have a clean chance, go for it. Whats really a nice addition are his headers. I scored many goals after corners with him, thanks to 99 Jumping and 88 Heading Acc. He powers of defenders bigger and stronger than him easily. In the box, you can risk a cross, he will make something out of it.
Far post, near post - he doesn't give a shit. Just blast it.
PASSING 7/10:
Maybe his biggest weakness. I like to play with the first touch and keep the ball moving. Sometimes he had troubles sorting his feet and passed the ball to an invisible friend. His right foot does the job well especially when he has a little bit of space and time. In narrow situations under pressure he delievers on a solid base, but sometimes he misses the chance for the through ball. He should be the guy who makes the run and finishes or power off defenders and hold the ball until the rest runs forward. He does that nicely and shields the ball perfect. But don't expect Messi-type-things. His short passing is an 82 which seems fair. Long balls or crossing isn't made for him, but I didn't expect that from him, so all good here.
DRIBBLING 8/10:
He is 6'0' (183cm) which is big enough for holding off defenders and he is agile enough to dribble past them. Again, he is no Messi and can't tie a knot between defenders legs. But he feels agile, quick and has 4* skills. I don't really use much skill moves, but if he has a chance for a 1on1 he can fake and dribble past most defenders. I was pretty surprised here, that was really more than I expected. His 87 agility seems fair and Reactions, ball control, dribbling and compusure are 83-88. And expecially compusure and reactions are nice. He sees and opportunity if the keeper drops a ball or a defender makes a mistake. He is there and finishes it. The only downside in this area is his balance. With only 76 he sometimes gets bullied during a scramble. But I would say he wind 70-80% of his battles, I think the Physicality helps him here. He turns pretty quick and manages to get himself into nice positions, then you can unload a nuke with him.
DEFENDING -/- :
My strikers are having a good life in my squads. The press if needed, but because I like to have the ball and don't drop back like some pussy, I don't really defend with my strikers. But, his aggression is pretty awesome. If a defender tries to mess around, he will see his opportunity and steal the ball. Also, if a corner flies in, he helps his backline and heads it out. Haven't tried it yet but I think he will head a truck outside the box if it comes flying. Solid!
PHYSICALITY 10/10:
I loved that part of his game. 99 Jumping, 80 Stamina, 98 Strength and 91 Aggression are top notch. Maybe you can argue that the stamina is a bit too low, but I had to sub him off only once ore twice. His Med/High Work rates did work nicely for me and he doesn't run around like a chicken without his head. He somehow knows his body and doesn't do stupid runs. So you should be able to sprint even in the 80th - 90th min. I liked the way he played because he was a super fit along Osimhen who has a similar style of play. We felt more agile than Osimhen and his Shooting was superb, especially the shot power. If he has the ball and decides to keep it, you can't change his mind. He will bully defenders with his back to the goal and even managed to get some free kicks or even penalties because nobody was able to take the ball away from him when he shielded it.
In Total: 4,5 / 5
I really liked this card. Awesome shooting, nice dribbling and strong as fuck. When you can forgive his 3-4 bad passes a game, you have a super striker with pretty good links. I mean, french. Even if you try a Ligue 1 team, that should be pretty easy. I can imagine if you have like Ben Yedder or Mbappe up front, he would be a nice addition. I think 100k is a very reasonable price, if you compare him to other strikers. In total he made 26 games for me, scoring 36 goals and assisting 12. That's a really good amount for only Rivals and Division 4/5 I think.
And it was fun trying some new cards, I liked the design and I am a fan of him, so I decided to give him a go. And it was a good choice. I won my games with a all french team and ligue 1 team, so he is the reason I have 18 Tokens now and can get my crappy mid icon from the pack. But it was a fun ride, maybe he sticks with my team for a long time. There aren't many affordable Ligue 1 strikers, I don't have 2 Mil Coins, so there aren't many options. Ben Yedder, UCL Depay and for me - Moussa Dembele!
Shot Power - he will have to pay some bills for the nets he destroyed
Physicality - that guy is a beast
Heading - I even forgot that headers were part of this game, he reminded me!
