Day 263 of Lockdown: The arrival of the much anticipated FUT Birthday promo did not disappoint in the end, with a nice assortment of useable options with increases to 5 STAR SKILLS or WEAK FOOT available. Full disclosure; I actually had a completely different squad to start this Weekend League, including a different player to review in Marcus Rashford… it lasted 3 matches. The reason being that I just wasn’t feeling the review or the squad and I want to enjoy my weekend, especially during these challenging times. In the end I am so incredibly happy that I made the switch and I honestly enjoyed my Weekend League experience (minus a few laggy matches), and spoiler alert!... Griezmann is amazing! 32 goals, 8 assists, in 21 matches. Wait… why 21 when all of my reviews are normally 20? Honestly, I was enjoying this card so much I completely forgot I was reviewing him for a second and lost track of how many matches I had played. In the end, I think that is the highest compliment I can pay this card, but let’s look at why, Griezmann was the breath of fresh air in the following squad:
If I was pressed for time and needed to give a quick summary of this cards qualities I would spend my time talking about two key factors. One, the 5 STAR WEAK FOOT that was granted with the promo is no joke. In talking to a friend about Griezmann I mentioned that I was disappointed that I did not put enough trust in Griezmann’s right foot earlier in the review. I honestly feel his goal total could have been even higher, but once I figured out just how lethal Griezmann was on both feet it was a game-changer. The velocity of his shots is the key and the ball is in the back of the net before the keeper can even react. Two, this card has some of the best left stick dribbling I have used in FIFA 20. There are not many who can compare and the responsiveness and turning were immaculate. You can create space in the smallest of areas and he executes all turns and drag backs with a touch of class that isn’t found in every player. He creates a lot of his own chances, which is vital at this stage in the game cycle.

The Barcelona links are some of my favorites in FIFA 20 due to both the quality and the wide arrange of price tags for managers to get players into their squad. I went with the higher end of IF Messi and TOTY De Jong (I forgot just how good he was as well), but there are quite a few lower budget options if Griezmann breaks the bank. Next, the French links are just as endless and have the same level of flexibility in positions, league, and price. Finally, you can use La Liga options to get this weapon into your squad… and there are a lot of them.

That’s right, 6/5. I have already decided I am going to try everything to keep my right-sided triangle of Barcelona players in my review this coming weekend. While Messi and De Jong are class options and definitely added to the quality in my squad, I would be lying if I didn’t say I 100% just want to play more matches with this card. Some of the turns and goals he executed this weekend left me stunned and re-watching replays to see, “just how did he pull that off?” I can only hope that the same happens for you, and for myself again next weekend.

At 1.5 million Griezmann might require a large percentage of many FUT Managers coins. While I am not going to say he can carry a depleted squad on his own, I will say that when he is on the ball you will feel confident that good things are about to happen. He is worth every coin in my books.
I really don’t have a single bad word to say about this card; okay maybe the celebrations are cringe-worthy. But, seriously, this card is the meta personified: Quick and fast with 96 SPRINT SPEED & 97 ACCELERATION; lethal finishing with 5 STAR WEAK FOOT + 99 FINISHING & 96 SHOT POWER; ridiculously agile dribbling with 93 AGILITY & 85 BALANCE; pinpoint passing with 92 VISION & 91 SHORT PASSING, and he can do it all game long and in big moments with 91 STAMINA & 92 COMPOSURE. I didn’t even mind his 66 STRENGTH as he held off bigger defenders the majority of the time. Just a well-rounded weapon of mass destruction.
Closing Words
You would think I am hoarding 15 of this guy in my transfer list the way I am going on… but I think it comes down to the fun I had during this review. To be honest it can cloud over some of the inefficiencies of a card and I hope I am not missing any key shortcomings. However, when I look around at other comments about this card I feel like I am on the right track and not over exaggerating how class this card was, and I think he would be the same for you too. I recently had gotten a lot of coins and decided to try out fut birthday griezmann. I paid around 1.4 million for him and he is worth EVERY SINGLE COIN. Out of all the cards ive tried this fifa, he has to be the most fun card as of this review. He is an outstanding goal scorer and the 5 star weakfoot shows itself every game. with the hunter chemistry style, i play him along neymar at striker in a 4-4-2. he plays as my right striker with the false 9 tactic on him. although the tactic has him stay back more often, i always seem to find him being the top goalscorer each game i play. his dribbling feels extremely responsive, and his passing is perfect. he is one of, if not the best CAM/CF/St anyone can have and would highly recommend getting for yourself. He has an amazing goal contribution for me, and i honestly will probably keep him for the rest of the game.
Shooting- he does not miss for me at all.
Passing- this guy can pass for days
Dribbling- for me, feels like neymar
pace- with a hunter he is an unstoppable stiker, anything else hes a deadly CAM
Physical- His stamina is good enough that he lasts the whole game including extra time
Physical- his stamina is great, but his strength isnt as good. if you cannot dribble in this game, he will get shoved off of the ball frequently, however i have personally not had to deal with that too often.
Defending- He has surprisingly made some decent tackles for me, however i would chalk it up more to luck. other than that, i wouldnt play him in any defensive role (why would you lol)
When i packed griezmann he went straight into my team and all i can say is that he is something else. The card is very well rounded with stats that are good across the board for an attacker, his passing is also remarkable where he can pretty much ping balls to any player . With the addition of the 5* weak foot he is now very good on both feet and you don't have to worry about putting it onto his left foot.
His 5* Weakfoot is very good and he is very clinical on either foot .
His finishing is very good and he is usually in position for a finesse shot.
His traits are very useful for this card because he has the finesse shot trait, flair trait and outside the foot shot trait.
His passing is pin point and very accurate in game.
The price seems a bit steep for a card like this however he is still good.
His work rated sometimes means he is quite defensive and not always up for the attack.
So when this card first came out, I wanted to try this straight away. I had been using Griezmann in the beginning of fifa 20 and I really liked him back then. I bought him for 1.530.000, which is a fair price for a card with stats like these in my opinion. I put a hunter chem style on him to boost his pace, then I put him in striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Neymar behind him. Played a few rivals games with him and then went straight into the weekend league.
The first few games I really had to adjust my style of play. Before him I was using Mbappe in the striker position. Due to his splattering pace you outrun defenders pretty easily, and with his strength he also wins a 50-50 every now and then. Even with the hunter chem style, Griezmann didn't even get close to that pace. I wasn't expecting him to, but the difference was pretty big in my opinion. Griezmann also get's pushed of the ball easily in comparison to Mbappe. If your style of play is to play deep balls behind the defender, I would suggest Mbappe over Griezmann.
Then when I started to adjust my style of play, Griezmann's presence became more noticeable on the pitch. I started using him as a sort of "false 9", where I didn't play with through balls anymore, but by building up attacks slowly and keeping the ball in posession. This is where Griezmann stood out. Let me tell you this: If Griezmann gets the ball within 20 meters from the goal and he is able to get a shot off, it's probably a goal. Left foot, right foot, power shot, finesse shot, it doesn't really matter he can do it all. In 30 games of weekend league he managed to score 46 and assist 17. Especially his finesse shots from the edge of the box are something else.
Another point in which Griezmann stood out, is his passing. One word: phenomenal. I've seen this man giving trough balls to other attackers, disgusting. At some point he was even giving through balls which Xavi in his prime wouldn't even think about. Even in the shitty gameplay this weekend (at least, my gameplay was shitty) his passing was on point.
Overall, I would recommend him if he fits your style of play. Don't expect blistering pace from this guy of physical presence, but do expect an insane shot (with both feet) and insane passing. I'm switching back to Mbappe after this weekend because he fits better into my style of play.
(For context, I am a division 4 player who usually finishes gold 1 in weekend league)

For anyone wanting a short review of how Griezmann holds up post TOTS, I thought i'd let you know my experience this past WL.
I just achieved my first elite 3 finish thanks in no small part to this guy. He played in the central CAM position in a 4231 in the squad linked above on 8 chem (hunter), with Atal playing ST.
He tore apart weaker opposition with ridiculous dribbling and shooting on both feet. Against stronger opposition his playmaking really shone, collecting lots of assists and still popping up with a goal every other game. He feels very agile and pretty fast with the hunter chem style, while he isn't rapid, i found if he was through 1v1 there weren't many CBs who would catch up. Really this guy was a game changer for me along with Atal, I'd strongly recommend this card to anyone interested, while he doesn't have the crazy stats of other TOTS cards, he out-performs many I've played with. I should mention I rarely get over 1 goal per game with a card as I only play champs and occasionally rivals, both Atal and Griezmann have over 1 GPG. Even with his price dropping I don't mind because the card won't be leaving my team any time soon.

Only con i can think of would be the links if he doesnt fit into your squad, but i played mine on 8 chem and he was insane.
I am going to be honest right from the get-go, I have just not liked Griezmann this year whatsoever. I have used his normal 89 rated card and his OTW and I just can't get used to him. HOWEVER, this card is so different and just in a whole different class. This card is absolutely amazing and will do wonders for your team. I bought him for a hefty 1.3M coins and was expecting him to be great. He definitely delivered and became my favorite card this year after playing just one WL with him. After playing 3 Weekend Leagues with him I can say that he is my favorite card so far this year. I played him at striker in a 4-2-3-1 with the instructions of stay central and mixed attack. I tried using him on "get in behind" but I couldn't get the most out of him on that instruction for the lack of blistering pace. Don't get me wrong, he is really fast but not Mbappe fast. Now, his finishing is unreal, he literally scores almost all of the chances inside the 18.Something else that really impressed me with this card was his phenomenal passing. My God this guy gives pinpoint passes, it is honestly ridiculous. I did not expect his passing to be that good. However, I feel like it takes a little bit of time to get used to this card because he is not your normal "get in behind" striker, you will have to use him differently in my opinion such as mixed attack, false 9, or target man. I think that is where he will excel.
5* WF— It feels like he does not even have a WF, it is so good trust me
Passing— This guy truly has some exceptional passing capabilities
Shooting— If you get into the opponents 18 and have a clear scoring opportunity he will score
Stamina— Maybe it was the instructions I had on him, but he never really got tired
Pace— With a hunter, his pace is very good still and will outrun a lot of defenders
I packed from a mega pack and he went straight into my team. I used him as a CAM with a hunter chem style in a 4-2-3-1 and OMG he is the best card I've used this FIFA.
He is literally a new beast in this game. He is at neymar, messi or cr9 level. Probably the best ST you can buy for 1.5 M
I have played it as a st and I must say that he is perfect for that people who likes touch and touch. He isnt very fast but he has a decent pace. Pace isnt a problem because his positioning is insane, probably the best i have seen. He feels very clever in game and can combinate eassy with the other players, that makes him perfect for a
4-3-1-2 formation or similars.
I have been writing about his only "issue", the rest of this guy is simply incredible.
Shooting is insane. Finesses, power shoots or normal shoots, it dont care, 99% goes inside. Amazing shot power and insane finishing. Real 5* weak foot.
Dribbling is amazing, he turns very fast and the ball goes always near the foot.
His pass is from another dimension. He can send balls to all places of the pitch. Probably, also, the best pass i have seen. For that reasons he could be one of the greatest CAMs in the game, but if you don't have a lot of money, use him as st, if you don't, you will be wasting his habilities.

I felt the need to write this review after only 5 games because this might be my favorite card this year. I used NIF Griezmann as my CAM for about 200 games back in October, and although I absolutely loved him, the 3 star weak foot was the reason I had to upgrade him. Well, this fixes it, while also making his pace just enough so that you can play him as ST. He might not be the very best at anything but, with a Hunter, this card has (almost) no weaknesses. Finesse shots, outside foot shots, chip shots, left foot, right foot, hell, even headers, Antoine will score everything. You could also play him as CAM with an Engine, or even as CM because those defending stats are a lie. If you can afford him, I can't recommend him enough.

Well, I played one weekend league with this guy and he impressed. I packed him in my first 50k pack of FUT birthday Lmao. (Still think this game is broken and unrepairable). Anyway... scored 38 in. 30, I played all 30 cause I wanted to test ow good this card was, I usually stop at gold one, thats if I even play, but with tis quarantine and all that, I have got a bit more time. Grizi is great, that 5 star WF really boosts him up a tier. I use baby Butra (still) and that card just seems average compared to the beast Griezmann. I'm still not sure though, is tis card worth 1.5m on Ps4. Maybe. There are better cards for different categories such as if ou want a bit more strength, Richarlison Shapeshifters, or if you need the 5 star skills, Ribery Shapeshifters.
