I was a little bit skeptical about this hard. It looked really like an overpriced card of crazily hyped player. I admit, in real life Mason Greenwood is a promising young talent, but we all know that it doesn't mean, that he will be same guy in FIFA game. That's why when it came out I didn't buy him for 1.1kk. I also didn't buy him when he was 1.4kkm, but after it went back to lower price I gave him a shot replacing my awesome Drogba 91, and that's to whom I will compare the Devil's madlad.
Oh boy... That was a good shot. Let me tell you why.
First things first. I am playing 5-2-1-2 and Greenwood works nicely as ST alongside Neymar (93). I used Marksman chemistry style on him. Behind them is Moments Bernardo Silva. What's more I tend to play possession game (usually it's more than 55% for my team). That's why Greenwood is an awesome striker in my taste. His 5* weak foot is a nice upgrade compared to Drogba's 4*. What's more Greenwood has much better dribbling stats in terms of Agility, Balance and Dribbling. He still feels clunky, but at least I don't need any chem style to fix that, which is a huge, huge plus. Why? With Marksman his Strenght goes up to 91, which is quite close to base Drogba's. He is not easily pushed away from ball, but he is also not pushing other people aside like Drogba, but that's fine. What's more due to no problems with Dribbling section his shooting feels much better than Drogba's. Sadly his Pace is also lower, so it's even more important than ever to have someone fast by his side and a good CAM to control the midfield
"The biggest advantage over Drogba's 91 is Finesse Shot trait. You can't imagine how many perfect opportunities my Drogba missed, because he was no able to score a nice finesse shot with Engine chem style. With Greenwood? Pffft... easy. What's he can really pass. With Drogba it was hard"
What's more with his finishing, shot power and positioning it's really easy to score goals inside the box. Headers are also nice, but nothing fancy. I understand, that lot of people will be pushed away by his "clunkiness", but if you don't care about "meta" alternatives, then this Devil's Madlad is your way to go.
An awesome player to have in formations with 2 strikers. He can be used as clinical striker, which provided with a good pass scores easily from anywhere inside or outside penalty area. In simple words - smaller, but more agile Drogba's son.
- Finesse shot trait
- 5* weak foot
- VVD and Varane will abuse him
