Player Review

92 - PL POTM
5.0
I was scared to do this POTM
By Groszq, 14-02-2020

From the beginning I want to clarify, that I was scared and really skeptical about doing this POTM SBC. Many of you said, that he is way overpriced and just not worth the money. Specially, that you get untradeable card out of it. I was in the same position, but now, after few tries I don't regret a single coin spent on it. What's more I will base my review on him after using such players as baby R9, Prime Didier Drogba or Mason Greenwood.

First thing first - yes, his Scream card is more expensive and better in terms of Physicality and Pace. Yes, you can sell it if you want to, BUT it won't get upgraded in Winter Refresh. His POTM will be upgraded to 93 OVR, which might bring him closer to Scream or even suprass him in terms value per coin spent.

Do I think this card is good? Yes, but no, but yes. Kind of. Why?

When Aguero is your guy:

  • if you are looking for a very agile and versatile striker to pair with someone fast in the attacking position then Aguero is always there for you (I use Hunter on him)
  • his combination of agility, 4* skill moves and 4* weak foot is a really nice combo to make fast, unpredictible turns/skills in opponents box and outside of it
  • passing - that's the key thing I was missing from other strikers. Yes, they are better player in stats than Aguero, but making fast turn and short pass feels the best with Aguero
  • precision - 96 finishing, 96 positioning, 91 shot power is a good combo to shoot towards closer post, which is kind of op with this stats
  • volleys - I am not sure why, but the volleys I scored with Aguero are outside of this world

When Aguero is not your guy:

  • He is weak - everyone is pushing him away, that's why it's really important to be agile with him
  • Learning curve is too steep - it's not easy to get used to playing Aguero, sometimes he feels too weak if used in typical ST, i.e. with typical striker if you intercept a pass between defenders you sprint as fast as possible towards the goal and score. With Aguero it's hard to do, because he will get some shoulder to shoulder fight with defender and even with 94 composure it might be hard to score, that's why you have to first brake from defenders, and then well, it's easy to score. Even Ter Stegen seems weak.
  • At least in my case he is not the best poacher I had. Right now I have 0.76 GPA, but also 0.4 Assist ratio. That's a lot for a Striker. Why? Well, it's really easy to nicely dribble your way out of encounters in opponent's box to make critical pass for someone else to score.

Summary:

I think you will be happy with his POTM if paired with other nice striker. He is definitely terrible as lone striker in front your team. He needs some support. If you are not used to dribbling or doing any kind of skill moves he might be tricky. Getting behind the defenders will work, but if there is fast defender in the opposite team Aguero might get neutralized. That's why you have to be agily with him.

As an example I will describe the easy goal I scored with him yesterday - I am moving my team towards opponent's penalty area. The bus is parked with Mendy, Varane, VVD and Trent. It will be impossible to get force through with Aguero. The Argentinian Madlad lacks strenght. What I did is lured one of the defenders towards Aguero, made a drag back, then instant berbatov turn (4* skill move) and shoot finesse shot towards further post. Instant goal. It wasn't hard to pull this, because of Aguero's agility.

If you know and learn how to use Aguero - he shines. Simple put he is the best striker I used this year.

  • agile
  • fast
  • dribbling
  • 96 finishing, 96 positioning and 91 shot power
  • 4* weak foot and 4* skill moves
  • every defender pushes him away
  • he is fast, but sometimes not fast enough
  • too weak to play lone ST

He's absolutely stunning

This is my first review - so I'm truly sorry if I write anything incorrect or if I simply just can't write English at all.I was lucky enough to pack this son of a God in a 7,5k pack (1/240 packs I opened from FP) - and let me tell you: He might as well be God himself. I didn't get through the first five rivals matches well, and I ended up in Division 8 - please still hear me out. Aguero has scored a stunni...

SERGIOOO SERGIOOO

This title is perfect, because this is all you will hear when you buy this card. This man, this beast, this legend. He just won't stop. It doesn't matter what he has to do, he will do it. Ya need that sweaty kickoff dribbling goal? Sergio. You need him to get in behind and run faster than usain bolt? Sergio. You need him to hold the ball to give a almost perfect Pirlo-like through ball on your sweaty ass Rashford or Werner?...

Aguero TOTS - honest review

Many reviews out there are made on using a player for 2 or 3 games But for me it's important to see how a player performs in a longer period.I was lucky to pack this guy as an untradable on saturday after the Premier League TOTS was released. I decided to use him alongside Butragueno Prime Moments in a 442 formation in my WL, which was by far the most sweatiest one this year (PL TOTS rewards coming).
