My first review. I hope it is helpful.
I prepared very early for the LaLiga SBC. When it came out I first was a little bit dissapointed because of the players to be picked. I decided to pick Hernandez even though he is hard to link because of his nationality.
So far I used Hernandez as sub. I really like him because he is a rather small player with good pace and agility.
Tonight EA brought the Kubo SBC and I immediately decided to go for him. With Hernandez in front they both come to full chemistry. Kubo/Hernandez are now replacing Adama Traore and Diego Costa in my team. I honestly have to say that I really enjoy playing them in this combination. Never played Messi in FUT, but I imagine that Kubo feels like a light version of Messi.
By the way, I have the feeling that EA this year rewards you for doing risky SBCs. For example they came up with Bolassie/Acuna after releasing Battaglia. Or Iniesta after David Villa.
- The combination of pace, agility, 4* weak foot, stamina and positioning makes this guy really enjoyable.
- 99 accelaration on 173 cm makes him running away from almost every defender.
- Finishing, curve and weak foot are so good, that even he comes from the left side he scores easily with his left foot.
- 99 freekicks are nice to have.
- Surely reaction and composure are the downsides of this card. But he does not feel as clunky as Adama Traore.
- 76 crossing is a bit low compared to the ofther very good passing stats.
When i did this sbc when it came out i didnt expect too much because he does look like a standard special RW Card. But this kid blew my mind, at the time my team wasn't anything special was div 5 (Didn't really have time for WL) But when he joined the squad an i put him at striker next to 86 Haland. This man was scoring goals, assisting every game. Since then i never put him out of the squad. He's in my opinion one of the best players in the game. His stats might not show it, but ingame, absolutely insane.
I used him at ST, CAM, RW, RM. RF And he plays well in everyrole, but ST and RF are without a doubt the best positions for him.
Kubo his insane accelerations, agility, balance and ball control makes him extremely fast on and off the ball.
He is a clinical finisher, give him a chance and he will finish it, without a doubt. With his right or left he doesn't care he'll put it top bins.
He is always in the right position, making runs or being there for the finish.
4* 4* perfect
His longshots feel really weird, most of the times when you try to bang from a distance, the ball wil nearly not go into the air and just roll it over the ground, he can score them with a finnese shot. but it really got my attention how many times the ball just rolls over the ground with bars of power behing it. No idea if it's just the game or the player
He's very weak, but doesnt get bullied off the ball alot, because strength is something werid this game, so it's nothing gamechanging.
Have been sometimes where his composure lets him down, but nog alot.
I know that he´s not that relevant, but I had to... He is the only player from my club who hits over 1000 games, and I think that´s a pretty big milestone. As I wanted to build best possible Real Madrid team and Kubo got SBC Card I was really happy to finally have good winger (at that point there wasnt too many options for Real Madrid right mid/ wing). Even now he´s playing in my team which is crazy considering all off these TOSSF players. He is agile, really quick and responsive, even when agression stat is low I find him really agressive, and he also won some headers which I would never think of... but The best thing about him is shooting, which I found absolutely unique. He can score with both feets, finesse, power, chip, anything. And he was my first player who started to score regularly from free kicks. He even scores FK goals when opponent send his defender on the line, which was always a great feeling. He played in many positions of many formations, but when I was reading his reviews I saw somebody puts him as a striker, and I honestly think, this is the best position for him. I used all deadeye, marksman, Sniper and hawk CHem styles on him but the best for me was probably finisher, because of deadly FK atributes...There are not many things that makes you happy about this game, but playing with Take was definitely one of them. Thank you for your service Take!!!
I didn't intend to write any review this year but I just have to credit the guy that has scored by far the most goals in my club in Division Rivals (Div 3) and Weekend League (normally around Gold 1). I know thats literally not Elite level but I still wanted to stand up for my favorite card of this year so far.
I think I don't have to say much about the combination of pace, dribbling and size which is just unmatched at least in the price range he was available for and has been mentioned by my previous speakers already.
The most surprising thing about this card though and the reason to play him as a striker for me is definitely his finishing. Give him the ball on his left foot (and that is quite easy with the quick first steps that he can make past any defender) and he is going to score a goal in 9/10 cases. No curved or low-driven shots, just a normal shot to the far corner will normally do with this Takefusa Kubo card.
I have only played him with an Engine and in formations with another striker because imo that makes all of his given talents mentioned above flourish even more.
If you somehow still have this guy in your team/club, play him and play him as a striker!
- RM->ST in game can lead to line up problems
Quick review after I finished my Weekend League with Kubo in my starting XI:
First of all, I’m a normal Gold 1 player & I just enjoy the game even when the gameplay sucks (like this weekend).
- About Kubo: He has some nice skills in his pocket, very good agility, good pass, nice shooting, nice pace and the 4* 4* factor helps you a lot in certain situation.
- Kubo is good but not great, Composure and Reactions make him very fragile when you have to play against tough opponents or when you have to complete a come back in the last minutes. I play him as a Right CAM into a 4231 formation or as a RM when I switch to 442 & I’ve recognized he got completely eclipsed by very good LBs (It depends by how good are your opponents).
- Last but not least: His SBC is too expansive, do him if you can complete both SBCs under 90k - 100k;
- Vote: 6,5
- Very Good Agility;
- Nice Shooting
- Nice Pace
- Good Passing
- Disappears Against Good Defenders
- Not Very Incisive
- Too Expansive
