The Brazilian Salah?
By benclay03, 28-04-2020

Recently I wrote a review on Semi Ajayi - being a West Brom fan, I felt it only fair to write one on King Matheus as well. Thankfully his price dropped to 215 on Xbox and I was happy to buy him at that price. And no, if you're on laptop, I still haven't figured out how to put the text 'normally', so I'm again sorry about that.

Onto why you're here. I play Pereira up front in either a 442 or 352 formation with a high press set up. I use a hunter on him to really boost that pace (99) and give him properly nice shooting (94 with a hunter). I'd say that the pace boost might not be neccessary for him but it's the way I play so it benefits me. A sniper may be good to boost the composure up to 85 or maybe a maestro turning him into a 94 rated CAM. There are many pros with only one real con with this card - let's get into them.

On a side note - I wrote this in the Ajayi review but I do wish you and your families well at this difficult time.

His pace is incredible with a hunter, but even with a non-pace-boosting chem style I think it would be more than adequate, especially at CAM where most of you will play him.

He's lke Messi on the ball - so agile and the ball sticks to his feet like it's got Gorilla Glue on ffs.

His passing is second to none - I didn't notice the 74 long passing affect him at all.

Really cool in front of goal. Has missed one or two fairly easy chances, but is there any player who scores EVERY SINGLE SHOT?

Stamina means he keeps going all game.

Decent strength for a card like this - he can't mix it with players like Sol Campbell, but he has knocked players like Saul and Kante off the ball a few times for me.

4* skills is tidy, would obviously be nice if it was 5 but 4 is great for me.

Great Brazilian links (Neymar, Cunha, Lucas Moura to name a few) and some tidy Championship links as well - that frankly RIDICULOUS Phillips card as well as the new Watkins, Benrahama, Rooney and McGeady (if you did those cards), Eze and Swift (changing his position to CDM gives a strong link to Ajayi the absolute unit of a man

Many people don't know he's left footed (shhhhhh), so it is surprisingly easy to cut inside and get the shot away

Really nice free kicks and corners - they literally go exactly where you aim them (now I know that's what you hope for but he's consistently good at this - some players I've used aren't).

Yes, the three star weak foot has to be mentioned at some point sooner rather than later. It's a real bum on the card, but using it isn't bad at all. It's not as reliable as a 4 or 5 by any means, but with his ridiculous stats the 3* right foot can get you out of a pickle a lot of the time.

For some players his cost (200 ish) may be steep, but if you struggle for coins and can get this guy, I'd definitely recommend him.

Links if you don't run a Brazil / Championship team

Maybe defending but it's not bad and if you play him at CB with a sentinel he's actually a 73 rated CB - the more you know, eh

The Cheap Pele?
By TibbZHD, 28-04-2020

I used him on with a marksman and in middle cam on stay forward and free-roam. Im an elite 3 player and also a wba fan so take this review with a pinch of salt.

For me, the star of the weekend, controlled the game every single match without fail. his agility and ball control in close range situations got me so many goals as he easily can just weave in and out of the defenders with ease. i bought him after my first 5 games so in 25 games he scored 38 goals and assisted 29. if you have icons/ Brazilians to simply link him in, I would say at any price under 250k is a steal.

Dribbling- the man cannot get tackled and i would honestly say the only person who i felt dribbled to nearly the same standard was when i used to use prime moments ronaldinho.

Passing - the short 1,2s i did with matheus and anyone else on the wings or up front easily got him straight through on goal creating easy chances.

Shooting - specifically finesse shots, just lightly lofted into the net with flair and the keeper had no chance any time

Weak Foot - Never nice to have 3* wf but it was easy to get around considering how agile he was, could easily put it onto his left

Work Rates - This is extremely minor but i do wish he had high attacking and not medium medium

Magical left foot
By Kakor, 06-05-2020

I got Matheus Pereira in my picks from weekend league and decided to use him for this WL and he was very good when you cut in and used his left foot and he was also a great finsiher so i would recommend buying him. At the time a write this review he is 150k on Xbox and 175k on Ps4. I used him in ST or CAM but you could probably use him as winger aswell.

He is a great finisher and has a amazing left foot that puts his shoots top corner very often. Realy agile and a very good passer aswell he does the playmaking and the scoring. His stamina was very good and he was able to run after the ball all game

Of course his 3 star weak foot but i felt he could shoot with the right as long as its not a volley or a bad angle.

Decent but not amazing
By wholelottagangshit, 30-04-2020

I did (Like everyone else), the guaranteed efl totssf pack, and i was honestly expecting either kirk or palmer, but when i saw the brazil, my heart skipped about 10 beats, and my head was contemplating furiously, whether or not there was another brazilian efl tots, there wasn't, and this guy popped up on my screen. He looked very good, and he was about 200k more than the sbc itself, so i was very happy. I immediately went into rivals to try him out. Having completed all of my icon swaps, i wanted to rank up again. He went into my squad nicely in a 4-2-2-2 formation, and ingame, he played RAM in the 4-2-3-1 formation, with come back on attacking in the instructions, using POHT and Long ball for tactics. I used a sniper chemistry style on him, to increase his composure and finishing, since i thought 80 for composure was too low in this current state of fifa.

His agility felt very good, and his passing is immaculate, he turns in tight corners, and is a very good playmaker. I played him striker for a few games, but i didn't like him there, his shooting lacked, and his poor weak foot really didn't help. I liked him a lot more at cam, where he actually did get into a few positions to finish.

As mentioned before, his shooting is not top tier, but really good, i found him to finish most of his chances with his left foot, and his finesse shot is amazing. However, his right foot is not very good, and he won't make many of his shot with the weak foot, as expected.

Overall, he is a good player for the price you buy him for, he is currently 240k on the xbox market, which i find is a decent price for a player with his links, and his skill level.

Most of the games played were played in division 4-5.

His

Very good passing.

Good finesse shot with the left foot

Nice agility & dribbling

Decent links

Very bad weak foot

Composure sometimes let him down

Not amazing shot power
