The little CAM
By rel10, 07-10-2019

This FIFA was made for you, Il Magnifico!

First off, deadeye is a must. Also he is much more suited to play CAM set to stay forward. I played him at ST a few times and he doesn't have the strength for it.

What a fun player to use, also incredibly effective. In a narrow 41212 I was having trouble with this position. Depending on my opponent, the CAM would shine or completely disappear. I rotated Ilicic and J Correa, and neither seemed to convince me. Ilicic had the passing and shooting, but was too clunky, regularly lost the ball, and never made clever runs. Correa was nimble and created chances, but lacked the stats to finish them off. With some coins saved up, I studied my options and realized Insigne had the attributes I liked from both players. (Lesson learned: I ususally try and make hybrids, but running a 1 league squad early in Fifa lets you rotate players easily and really see what works)

Insigne is the heartbeat of the team. He's always in the right place to receive a pass. Even if you have an opponent breathing down his neck, his control and turning is impeccable. You can pass it to him, he will stop the ball on a dime and just turn around the defender. This works in the middle of the pitch to transition from defense, or at the edge of the box to turn and shoot. Have scored so many goals like this. Strength isn't even a factor, you just have to be quick and he can't be touched.

He provides you with every option in attack.

In possession style, if you have space, you can dribble straight at the opponent with pace and perfect control. If you want to build up slower, his dribbling literally creates time and space, let your team make runs and wait for the right opportunity. His passing is unbelievable, though I don't pass long with him usually.

On the counter, it's amazing how great his support runs are. Even playing at CAM, he is often getting in behind the defense, ahead of the strikers. The 89 pace seems more than enough.

Dribbling and pace are important enough to make a player like Insigne very relevant. In the past strength and height would have killed this card, but now I suggest you try him (or similar players like Messi, Gomez).

Insigne the CAM God
By Patrick1414, 18-12-2019

I have used Insigne quite some time now. For the first 100 games I used him as a ST. But I found too many times he was lacking due to his strength. At the same time he was still bagging almost 1 goal and 0.5 assist per game. Then I switched him to CAM. I think CAM is the best position for him. He is incredibly fun to play with. He sets up great passes which make the strikers look good. He is incredibly pacy and skilled in dribbling. He has the ability to break down defenses and create spaces for other players. At CAM for me he is scoring less and assisting more. But he is making the team play better. I would strongly advise you to buy him. Don't expect him too win too many one-to-one headers or something, his strength is definitely his weak point but he more than enough makes up for it, He is totally worth his price at the moment.

  • Incredibly fun to play with
  • He is so pacy
  • His dribbling is perfect
  • Makes the entire team play better
  • Does not have a lot of strength
  • In some games he performs much better than in other games
  • Sometimes I don't like this shooting, could be more clinical.
