It's the start of a new Fifa and you're looking for cheap players to link your team together... I would definitely recommend Ryan Fredericks! He is cheap as chips at about 800 coins, and is easy to link with his English nationality and Premier league status. 92 Pace with Med/High work rates is perfect for a full-back in my opinion, and he is 5'11 so can jump to head the ball quite well too. He plays in game like a budget Kyle Walker, and considering Walker is 100x his price, Ryan Fredericks is definitely a suitable alternative. His 3* 3* is acceptable for a full-back, although not the best though he passes relatively well for me and very rarely makes errors at the back. One might question his dribbling, defence and physical stats, and while I found a sentinel chemistry style rectifies these (for the most part), these stats could definitely be better although for the price you're paying... you can't really go wrong.
I tried him moving forward and while his pace was a huge pro, and his distribution in the wide areas along the ground was class, he struggled with crossing and taking the opponents defenders on. However, I mainly play 4-2-3-1 with both my full-backs on stay back and he does just that and guards the right back area with his life, quite rarely being beaten and if he is he tracks back well with his pace to make challenges. For me, what is most notable is during set pieces and the like he stays back, so if my opponent attempts to counter reliable Ryan is there to match the pace of their attackers and win the ball back and make crucial game changing challenges. For 800 coins I'll take that!
-Cheap as chips (800 coins)
-High defensive work rate
-Very pacy with 92 pace and 93 acceleration stat
-His physical nature being 5'11, despite what the stats say, is relatively good
-Much better defenders out there
-3* weak foot and poor crossing might be noticable, especially to those of you who used the loan Trent
-Dribbling, defending and physical stats could be better, so should be improved via a chemistry style
