When the database came out everyone was rightly excited for this card. Imagine my joy when I packed him, untradeable, in a two player pack at the start of the game. This is where my joy ended though.
Even though it was the start of the game and I was finding my feet defensively, he just wasn't up to the job. I paired him with St Juste and thought I had a CB pairing I'd be using for the first few months of FIFA. After 6 games, I couldn't take anymore.
Let's start with some positives though. His pace is eilte level for a CB and, with an Anchor chem style, his strength and jumping are brilliant. However, as the game currently rewards defenders with great defending stats, his are not good enough. Although good at getting in the air, he doesn't win the amount of headers he should. Positionally he just doesn't read the game at the same level as those defenders with better defensive stats. I've since gone on to use Laporte (who is currently 9k) and he's worlds above.
With stamina at 67, if you use his pace regularly to compensate for his lack of positioning, you'll find yourself with a very tired defender come the 60th minute of the game.
All in all, although this card had much promise, he's not top tier standard - even at this stage of the game. Spend your coins more wisely. Invest in a defender who's defensive stats are better. Pace is not king in this case.
A month into the game and lacroix is still really good. Im a div 2 rank 1 player and usually get 12 wins games in the wl. His positioning is so good and he feels so good in game. I understand he gets packed a lot but 3k still seems a little too low. Even tho he has low stamina i can't see that in game. He always lasts the full 90 and does decent in 120. Even tho upamecano totw is a little better i still recommend you guys to use him. Way better than the likes of gvardiol(totw)/lklostermann/st juste.
His pace is still insane.
Pretty strong tbh
Body type
Nice short passing
Sometimes the passing might be a bit off but usually its decent.
In fifa 2022 you will need CB;'s that can actually defend, pass and not just pace merchants. 40k is far too much compared to skriniar, koulibaly, upamencano, and akanji. He is easily muscled off the ball by defenders and often has waywards passes compared to his CB partner Vertongen
I know that everyone saw this card at the start of the game and thought that he was going to be the most op defender in Fifa 22, but thankfully this game isn't like the previous Fifa and pace isn't as important as Fifa 21.
you actually need defenders who can somewhat progress the ball effectively and don't just have a ton of pace with no agility, little physical, etc. I packed him untraceable and thought, why not try him out, and lets just say, after using Marquinhos this card felt unusable. i
f you want an amazing defender this year you will more likely than not have to spend 30k plus at least. if this card goes down to 8k, id tell you to try him out but if he stays at this inflated price tag, don't. mounds and upamecano are much better for me and they're relatively cheap.
