Throughout almost the whole of FIFA 22, I have used a Bundesliga, Prem Hybrid Squad. Until getting bored I decided to sell most of my Bundesliga players and switched them with the money I made to make a Prem, Serie A Hybrid. During this process, I had the ambition to buy Cordoba rather than this Theate card. However, unfortunately my maths was wrong :( and I was around 30K short of the 170K needed to buy Cordoba. I was going through cheap Serie A CB on the FUT Market until I stumbled upon this cheap 25K card. I liked what I saw stat-wise and thought WHY NOT! I mean I was only going to use him for a few games. I bought him with a Shadow and slapped him straight into the RCB position. I gave my new squad a small test in a Squad Battles game and really enjoyed how it went. After the game, I was satisfied to take my new team into the Weekend League. To put a long story short I had one of my best Weekend Leagues in a while going 14-3 and I believe Theate is hugely responsible. I can't remember him making a single mistake throughout the whole Weekend! He was the heart of my defense and well "HE JUST WINS THAT BALL SO MUCH" :.(
Now I am going to dive into his stats and a bit of his information. Firstly, the stat I'd like to look at first is his perfect strength (99) no player could get past him or win the ball off of him when dribbling. I barely even had to press B that whole Weekend League when using him, I could almost just sprint at an opposition attacker and I didn't even have to look but the sharp vibration of my controller would tell me that possession now belonged to me. Nobody and Nothing could get past him, he was a walking, talking BRICK WALL! The next thing I would like to delve into is with a shadow his perfect tackling, Standing Tackle (99) and Sliding Tackle (99). I did notice that maybe his sliding tackle wasn't AMAZING and I presume this is because of his height being only 6'0 which isn't great for a CB. But, you can't have everything he was still great, but what I did love was his standing tackle. I'm not being funny but every single time I held B, the ball was always mine. I really can't recall him EVER missing a tackle. These are the major Defensive and Physicality stats I wanted to look at. But, don't think the rest are bad, he has very balanced and solid stats in these departments. Next up is of course the one stat all of Love yet Hate, that being PACE. With the shadow his Pace (95) is impeccable. Now as I may have mentioned I kind of just bought him off first glance because I liked what I saw without actually looking deep at his In-Game Stats. When I did check I was quite pleasantly surprised to see that he had relatively equal Acceleration (92) and Sprint Speed (97). This isn't often found in a CB and is incredibly valuable as it means they are hard to be beaten by bridges or through balls that shred through the defense. Now those are the major stats that I wanted to look at with him but there are a few more that I would like to look at for a CB that I think are important. Now his Reactions (85) are well not great but certainly not bad, but this nicely links to how he is a through balls biggest fear. His Acceleration combined with his Reactions means that if a ball does creep through the defense he is there to SHUT IT DOWN! Now finally, stat-wise I'd like to look at his passing. Yes, I can honestly agree that it isn't great but who cares, I'm really not going to be making perfectly placed passes over the top of the defense with him or whipping in a cross for a header. I only really care about his Short Passing (86) which is fine, it gets the job done. Even then with the 18 games, I played with him he got himself 3 assists so it can't be that bad. His 3* Week Foot when passing is unnoticeable and the 2* Skill Moves I mean who cares he's a CB. Ok now, this is interesting but I think this is also the reason why he got himself 3 assists. It's his Work Rates, he has a Medium Defensive WR but a High Attacking WR. Now, this would put quite a few people off but truly I didn't notice it. Rather it was my other CB with High Defensive and Low Attacking WR is the one that typically finds himself out of position. So, I'm really not complaining there. Ok so finally his height being 6'0, I brought it up slightly beforehand but I would like to go slightly more in-depth with it. I didn't really mind it but I would say it is one of his few weaknesses. Against taller players cause his jumping (83) isn't great he does lose quite a few headers and this can get quite annoying.
Now in this paragraph, I am going to look at his price, and value for money compared to other Serie A CBs. Ok so of all CBs in the league he has the BEST Physicality stats of every card. He is ranked 26th in defending well which doesn't sound great but this is for the Serie A where practically every CB has about 4 Pace but 96 Defending. So, in reality, it is better than it seems. In Pace overall, he is ranked 4th in the League. He is also ranked 4th in Passing. I would also like to add that when it comes to Base Sats he is 2nd best in the Serie A, only 1 stat behind RTTK De Ligt. So, as you can see he is clearly one of the TOP TOP CBs in the whole of the Serie A. But, yet is 21st when it comes to his price. This shows his value for money if you are looking for a Serie CB he is OUTSTANDING. Alternatives to him would firstly be a budget option in Chris Smalling RTTF who is around 8K cheaper. But, mark my words Theate more than makes up that gap with his ability. Now the slightly more expensive alternative would be Rodger Ibanez Future Stars. He is around 18K more expensive but just keep that 18K and spend it on something nice. He is just not worth the additional price unless you are looking for links.
To Conclude, in the course of FIFA 22, I have used many top-class CBs. These include OTW Upamecano, RTTK Tapsoba, RB Klostermann, WW Cozza, and VF Gomez. All in my opinion great CBs but this Headliners Theate is significantly better than all of them and significantly cheaper than most. Also, the fact that this card is a Headliners and how it is still able to get upgraded is TERRIFYING! I don't feel as though I even want to buy Cordoba anymore, if this card gets maybe one or two more upgrades then I can truly see him being my CB all up until TOTS. I can't recommend him enough you should definitely try him.
Theate was very surprising. He won every header. Every. Single. One. Corners were too easy. I was scoring off of them every time. However on the defensive side, he was decent, but nothing special. His pace was surprisingly average, even though his physicality was quite nice. He isn't that great compared to normal Kimpembe, or Koulibaly. He's certainly not better than OTW Tomori.
.I like it. I played him with shadow and i can say he is beast. The problems on this card is maybe height and agility. Its little hard for links. I guess is little expensive to this center back.
