This is my first review, cause english arent my first langage (so, i hope you ll understand) but ... i had to do !!!
I was looking for a "tempo" player before Jorgi toty price down. According to my experience, the two keys stat for all player are Composure (the only stat with stamina than you cant leve up up with any style) and Reaction. You can have 99 finishing, if you have only 84 composure and 85 reaction ... you ll miss a lot of time and you ll say "i dont understand !!!! 99 finishing but he miss everything!"
So at this point of the game i m looking for player with more than 90 in both stats. With 92 Reaction and 92 Composure it was a good reason to try it.. and ...

I didnt expect that !!! this guy move like Messi ! With more pace and more agressivity on the ball. If you play with left stick / R1 Drible you ll love him. His short passes are good (91 vision / passing), his shoot are good (90 finishing, 91 power), 4 skill / 4 WF ... even his def attribute do the job (for an "attacker" player).
I play him inside my 41212 (2) at left CM position, with all basic setting and hunter to increase efficiency in front of goal, i ll try him with something else later.
Conclusion:
It's not a "Game breaker" like Kante Toty, Eusebio, Bappé if (or more) etc... It's a top "A tiers" players. He ll do the job untill you could buy / pack a S Tiers (maybe never...).
I think he is very very good as CM with the good partner but he can play as Winger or CAM too. However he ll be less effective (Winger need more pace, CAM need more passes and curve)
He is a very complete offensive player for only 400 / 500k !!!
I bought him 405k, 5 star value for money, if he increase above 500k : 4,5 star
I packed this guy recently and despite the fact I was building a Liverpool P&P team (I'm still working on it tho) I decided to use him as ST along Fernando Torres with Mo Salah and Mané playing their role as wingers.
Foden's gold card is insane or at least it was for some time when the game launched - still a pretty solid choice for beginners - then you could imagine what a upgraded specially tremendous TOTY honorable mention card can be. My man is ready to bang in Denmark again!
In game personal experience:
He is very agile, can outpace many of the meta defenders using hunter chem style and his shooting is astonishing. Despite the fact he doesn't have the meta traits a.k.a finnesse shot or outside foot shot he is still lethal. The upgraded 4* weak foot put all the pieces together and put him on an another level.
Dribbling stats are insanely great along with his 'lean' body type make this guy's dribbles very smooth. Ofc he isn't Mbappe, Neymar or any other super skiller with unique body type but he do the job very well.
Passing is great (91 vision, 84 crossing, 91 short pass and 86 long pass) that's why you can basically use him anywhere up the front: RW, LW, CAM or ST. It's your choice.
Although all the great things this card can do there is always some downsides in every card and this one isn't different. His physicality is practically non-existent and playing as ST is way more noticeable for 50 strength and 71 aggression. He is not a good header neither: 55 jumping and 51 heading are the proof.
Value and final considerations:
Guys, he is currently listed for 450k+ and to me is a bargain. If we compare some players around the same level (even SIF or TOTGS Salah) is a great card. If you pack this guy untreadable do not hesitate to use him, you'll never regret it. If you're running a Man City team then it is a no brainer. He is completely different from his Gold, IF, SIF and even Rulebreakers version.
Great base stats. Specially pace, shooting and dribbling.
This card looks great, his links are really good, being English, Prem and plays for Man City. His body type is great, 5'7 lean body type is always going to be meta and very usable in game regardless of the stats. He has 4 star skills, 4 star weakfoot, with decent traits. The traits are okay, but a little underwhelming, although they are definitely a positive on this card. The High/Med work rates are great for a cam/st/lw (his primary positions).
Pros:
This card definitely has a lot of pros with the noticeable ones being his agile dribbling and his bursts of pace. The pace on this card is great in tight spaces however he isn't the fastest in open spaces like counters and most meta cbs (like flashback varane, djalo etc...) will catch up to him. His dribbling is amazing, he has amazing agility, great balance and can easily maneuver through defenders. His shooting is probably the worst part of the card, but his finishing is still great, and he finishes the chances he gets in the box, whether its near post or far post, he will probably find the back of the net. His passing is great, and can make most, if not all passes attempted, whether it is long passes, short passes or crosses. He also has great stamina, which means he usually can play the full 90 mins
Cons:
This card does have a few flaws, with his lack of long shot ability being the most noticeable due to the lack of the outside foot shot and finesse traits. You can definitely still score from long range, however it is not as consistent as you'd hope. Another flaw this card has is the lack of strength, meaning he easily gets out muscled by most defenders and midfielders.
Summary:
This card is great, and I enjoyed using him during this weekend league and was great for me playing LAM in a 4-2-2-2, but he can definitely play LM/RM (especially now with the 4 star wf) ST or CAM. Right now hes going for 450-500k which is slightly overpriced for him in my opinion, however I still think he is an extremely good card and will definitely be one of the better forwards in the Prem until TOTS.
For two weeks straight, I had scrimped and saved for the TOTY promo, and got some ok HM cards and a ton of tradeable fodder. I was in the neighborhood of 500K and I needed a new false 9 as 85 Edouard just wasn't getting it done like he used to. So I bought Foden for 428K, and I was expecting great things from him. The first two or three games were unbelievably underwhelming. HE just disappeared. He was being bullied by bigger defenders, and most importantly, he wasn't scoring. I was frustrated.
Then, the third game came along. All of the sudden, Phil Foden became damn near God. Scored an incredible hattrick, was dribbling defenders left and right and didn't miss a pass. (I pass a lot too.) Just phenomenal.
But could he do it consistently? The answer was an unequivocal YES. By the time the 11th game came around in champs qualifiers, he had racked up 15 goals and 11 assists. Truly different. Proved me wrong goal after goal, hattrick after hattrick. This man is worth 500-550K. Just WOW. I won't need another CF until TOTS. Maybe not even then.
Dribbling- CRACKED BEYOND BELIEF. Left stick as well as 4* skills with the 5'7" lean body type is any player's nightmare. Absolutely explodes out of the heel-to-heel, is quick in the first step and his first touch and general ball control is unmatched. Unbelievably fast and precise in tight situations too.
Shooting- I have him on a HUNTER chemstyle (95 shot.) Despite not having the shooting traits we look for (ie finesse/outside foot) Phil's shooting is nuts. Unbelievably powerful and precise. Just as importantly, his high reactions/agility/balance help him get his shot off very quickly with excellent technique. Anywhere within 35 yards and your defender is a bit too far away? Just shoot the ball. His 4* weakfoot is almost unnoticeable even outside the 18 yard box. Cutting away from his man and drilling a far post shot is light work for man like Foden. Next level stuff.
Passing- His passing is also top tier. Plays incredible through balls (especially on his left,) clean square passes and a great one touch passer. I wouldn't use him on free kicks though. I don't need to switch the field too much with him but when I do it's very fast and accurate. Again, he's 5'7" with a lean body type and can adjust to the correct technique and position over the ball because of his amazing dribbling stats. The passing is so good you barely notice it. The ball just goes where it should.
PACE, PACE, PACE- Yes, he is great at all of the above, but what makes this card truly terrifying to face 1v1 is what I'll call "the slingshot effect." Because that's what happens. He absolutely slingshots out of the dribble into a 98 sprint speed full pelt. Again, let me reiterate: what makes this happen is the body type, height and god tier dribbling stats where it matters. Truly scary.
Stamina- If you look at my squad link, you all can tell I admire how Man City play. Fast, penetrating, possession football with top tier talent. Best team in the world bar none. But what really makes the magic happen is the high, hard, and fast press they use. I press the same way, (90% manual pressing, press on heavy touch/55witdth/70 depth.) Mr. Phil is an integral part of that system. He hurries central defenders into making risky passes pretty well when you manually sprint and then switch to the second man with him. He can last a full 120' no problem with his 90 stamina.
Defending- Defense for me, is how a team plays when they aren't in possession and the other team is trying to score. So from a pressing standpoint, he is very good. Not GREAT. Just very good.
Phyiscal- The strength is almost nonexistent, his jumping is like an elephant's (physically impossible for an elephant to jump, look it up.) BUT! BUT... the 71 aggression is slightly misleading. the guy can absolutely get the ball back when he really shouldn't. I'd almost call it jammy or sticky. But the rest is beyond poor. This just means you have to evade defenders and cross the ball when Foden is wide open. To me this isn't really an issue since it's easy to play around. Overall I wouldn't worry about it too much and the jamminess is definitely a plus.
Foden was a player who I was blessed with very early into release and he hasnt left my team since, he has smooth left stick dribbling and his shooting is phenomenal, he is always in the right place and will be sure to score that last minute winner. he has been recently replaced with Potm Ronaldo but i am not sure if i will keep ronaldo or him. With almost 400 games and 300 goals and 200 assists i can assure you he is a game changer for a medium budget player and will always play well.
I never wrote a review before and I'm gonna keep this simple. This Foden cards deserves a review. He's just that stupidly good. I use him as a CAM in a 3-5-2 with the Hunter chem style.
I used FB Fekir, TOTYHM Fernandes, SS De Bruyne and many more great players at CAM but for my playstyle none felt better than Foden. He feels really responsive, has surprisingly good passing and scores banger after banger for me. It doesn't matter if I'm in the box or outside, whether I use R1 or not, the ball somehow ends in top bins. If not it's just an everyday rocket straight past the keeper who probably suffers from PTSD afterwards.
The only downside in my opinion is his strength, he can get bullied of the ball if you are not careful. But in no way does this mean that he doesn't slip by defenders every so often.
Oh my god, the saucy little boy had done it again, I got him from the future stars reunion pp and I’ve never been happier he is incredible. His shooting is broken his pace is a lot better than you think his dribbling is on another level and his passing is very good very well rounded player straight in my sandwich
Let me just say, this man is a menace- almost Hasbulla status
This is my first review, and it is very fitting that it is Foden.
For me, the top things I look for in a good striker are quick acceleration and insane shooting (therefore, usually a small, balanced, agile guy over someone who can barrel their way through defenders) over physicality. Having previously used Diogo Jota's numbers up card, Samuel Eto'o's 90 rated card, etc. I was buying lots of expensive players and was disappointed as I was struggling to find someone who could make a valuable difference on my team up front and connect with teammates as well.
Although they were great players and put in a lot of goals for me, Foden is built different: his 90 pace feels like 98. This man has WHEELS- And let's not get started on his shooting. It goes in from ANYWHERE. Left foot, right foot, it doesn't matter. One thing I love about his shot is that it feels a lot like Ronaldo's shooting mechanic. His strikes dip, knuckle, and will put the keeper in a spin cycle. So far, TOTY Foden (Durag Foden) has clutched up harder than Aguero to win the Premier League, with 92 composure in front of goal. My first 5 games with him in my squad, he scored consecutive hat tricks, and right now he has 40 goals and 14 assists in 38 games. His dribbling is top tier; comparable to Messi. He can make good moves, outpace defenders, make great passes, and get very technical in the box. His 4 star weak foot and 4 star skills shine in these situations (His right foot honestly feels 5 star).
The ONLY thing I could ever complain about with this BEAST of a man is his physicality. He gets pushed around if you are shoulder to shoulder with defenders, which can be solved with separation and some good dribbling, but honestly, doesn't take away from all his amazing abilities for me. He is SO worth the money, and I hope none of you get him so that I don't have to face him in weekend league.
