I bought this card for 184k with an anchor. Right now when I'm writing this he's 187k.
I've only played two games yet with Tolisso and so far he's been a cheap and shorter Gullit. He has good links with France and Bundesliga and mainly Bayern Münich.
Right now I can't think of any cons and everything has been good.
This is a good card and he will most likely see the 90 with two upgrades. I would recommend using an ANCHOR or a SHADOW to boost PACE and DEFENDING. Physicality is actually not needed to be boosted. He is actually good at everything with 81+ in all stats
Everything. Mostly PASSING and PACE is surprisingly good. SHOOTING is also surprisingly good.
Price is also pretty good for 190k.
So far no cons except for maybe higher STAMINA than 83 however with +2 it will be at least 85 and 3*3*. WEAK FOOT feels more like 4*.
I bought this amazing looking card for 180k, and after a few games decided top write this review. For your information I'm a div 2 player and most of the games were played in Rivals. This Tolisso card is worth its price but there is nothing spectacular. I will start by his major quality passing, short and long pass always find their way through the defense he simply can't miss a pass, his dribbling is great too but he can feel a bit heavy, I'm nit a big fan of skilling but the 3* could be bothering. His pace is good with a shadow and he catch up attackers pretty easly. Defensively he is pretty surprising as his stats are not the best but he is really strong and tackles very well. His shooting is mid long shots are amazing but finishing is quite bad. To end this review comparing to other midfielders I use like Kante, Barella, Caqueret he is better but not really fun to play with. I personally play him alongside Paqueta FUT Birthday to add a little spice to the game.
Where to start the dude is absolutely crazy in the midfield he is everywhere on the pitch i use him mostly in as a right CM 41212(2) or 4321, i am an elite player and i played over 190 games with him he doesn't fail to get the job done specially in attacking due to his work rate. his passing shooting and dribbling is fantastic. for a 5'11 player his header is amazing as well and he has the power header trait so dont sleep on crossing to him he will win that header and surprise you. his defending stats are good i would say he would perform better than his stats specially in interceptions he would sweep the ball off the opponent so smoothly.
Pace
Header
Passing
shooting
dribbling
live card so will probably see more upgrades
Stamina ( will run out at the late stage of the game)
work rate ( he will make runs forward even on stay back while attacking) so prepare to drag him back to his position.
i wouldn't count it as a big con but if he gets 4*4 upgrade he will be worth over a mill easy.
Full disclosure, this review is written on RTTK Tolisso before his +2 upgrade for the win against Salzburg and Bayern’s progression to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
I was absolutely thrilled to find Corentin Tolisso in one of my player picks during the RTTK promo. For one, his face card stats absolutely jump off the page with over 80 in everything, his links as a French Bayern player are outstanding, and Bayern are a front runner in the Champion’s League, giving this card an excellent chance of climbing to a 92-93 overall rating. Safe to say, I had sky-high expectations for this lad. With high/medium work rates, it was clear to me this card would not make it as a solitary CDM, but I felt Tolisso would slot well into two DM formations or as a box to box CM. I linked him into a bundesliga hybrid with a green link to RB Alphonso Davies and played him next to Winter Wildcards Sow in the midfield. Half the games I used him in I had a shadow chemstyle on him and the other half of the games I used an engine for a little extra agility and balance.
Pace:
For a midfield card playing in the middle, his pace is perfectly fine with a chemstyle that gives you +5. I much prefer having players with higher acceleration than sprint speed so for me, Tolisso’s pace splits are more than good enough if you want to try and beat a man either off the dribble or if you just want to create space by sending him on a run.
Shooting:
The shooting on this card is arguably its biggest pro for me. With 92 SHOT POWER and 88 LONG SHOTS, Tolisso has an absolute howitzer of a right foot that came up very clutch for me late in a couple games. Although he does not have outside foot shot or finesse shot traits, I found both his outside of the box power strikes and finesse shots on his strong foot to be devastating and effective. Inside the box, finishing for him was a bit more difficult. The high shot power did not make up for the 3* weak foot or the 81 FINISHING, and he ended up missing a couple sitters for me inside the box.
Passing:
Another really strong point on this card. Tolisso has excellent passing range, and long passes finding runs down the field were consistently accurate with excellent weight to them. The low curve did not affect his finesse shots at all. The one thing you have to look out for with Tolisso’s passing is making more difficult passes on his left foot. His 3* weak foot can be very shaky with longer passes or when he’s trying to make a pass under pressure.
Dribbling:
A bit of a miss for me on this card unfortunately. His dribbling stats are largely excellent and in the middle of the park, there wasn’t too much difficulty retaining the ball or beating a man occasionally. When you have space and time in the midfield in decent gameplay, his right stick can sometimes really shake defenders off. Personally, I don’t have a problem with mid 80’s agility and balance. However, when the space got a bit tighter inside or around the box I found it extremely difficult to turn with Tolisso, even with the engine chemstyle. Personally, I like to use skill moves, so being stuck with 3* skills was a small con, but not a big deal considering you don’t want to spam skills with CMs.
Defending:
Defending on this card is decent but not amazing. Again, with high/med work rates, it is not a good idea to play this card as a lone CDM. However as a secondary DM he was quite solid defensively. 80 DEFENSIVE AWARENESS is more than enough as a box to box or secondary DM. He’s 5’11 but he seems taller than that in game, and his size helps him collect interceptions and win the ball back consistently against smaller players. The tackling was fine, he definitely got glitched through a couple times by Mbappe and Vini but I chalk that up to the current state of the game.
Physicals:
Tolisso has very good physical stats for an offensively oriented CM and decent physical stats for a DM. Having 89 aggression was a big plus for me, because oftentimes when he would lose the ball while dribbling he would often charge the opponent down and win it back immediately. The stamina proved a little bit low in some of the very back-and-forth games I played with him, especially when he played more in the box to box role but it wasn’t a massive negative.
Summary:
If you couldn’t guess from the face card stats, RTTK Corentin Tolisso is a solid, if unspectacular option for your all-action midfielder or as a secondary DM. He offers excellent links, being a French Bayern player. His shooting outside the box with power and finesse strikes was excellent, however his finishing inside the box left a lot to be desired. The passing was all around excellent. However, the shooting and passing on this card come with the caveat of The dribbling on this card is fine in the middle of the park, but when the space around him is closed down, he almost seems to have a high & average or even h&a+ body type instead of an average body type, and it can make him seem clunky and hard to turn when you are inside or around the box (even with an engine chemstyle). With his work rates, he doesn’t always have a consistent defensive presence, but he seems larger than he actually is in game and can come in handy with interceptions frequently. His physical stats are well rounded with the standout stat of the bunch being 89 AGGRESSION. It’s a shame that the dribbling is not as good as advertised and that he has H/M work rates, because with the way he plays in game he could be an absolutely INSANE CDM with better work rates. With the state of the market this year, there are cheaper midfield options that offer you pretty much the same stuff or better as this card at DM and CM. However, with this card you have to take into account that he already is guaranteed a +2 upgrade with a great chance at more following Bayern’s rout of Salzburg AND that he has French and Bundesliga links. Overall, I can’t say this card offers great or even good value for 220k coins at his current rating considering he comes with plenty of flaws that are not guaranteed to be fixed with the performance upgrades, but he certainly has his positives and is easy to link.
Long shooting - finesse and power strikes are excellent from outside the box
Passing - accurate with excellent weight
Interceptions
Links
Aggression
+2 with more to come(?)
Dribbling
Body type - seems weird even though average body type is usually fine
Weak foot - weak foot is bad even for 3*
Finishing
Stamina - for those really back and forth, up and down the pitch type games, 82 is not quite enough
For those who are thinking about getting Tolisso, I highly recommend it, very solid defensively with SHADOW (despite being average for defense), has good speed and the stats are very well distributed, he's even scoring a lot of goals because he always helps a lot in the attack appearing free of defenders.
ATTACKING and DRIBBLING: With very good offensive stats for a CM, he rarely misses a goal. The dribbling and passing stats are also worth a look because they are very good, all dribbling is 87+, having reactions and ball control at 95. He does crazy runs to support the attack and turns to be a surprise weapon in the box.
PASSING : is practically perfect, vision, short pass and long pass all 90+.
DEFENDING: Just slap a shadow and his stats will be excellent with almost almost all 90+. His medium wr for defending will rarely be a downside, his interceptions, tackles and positioning are really good. In fact, if you play him with a another defensive midfielder they will pretty much conquer the field.
On top of that, he's also great in the air, he's only 181cm but 92 for heading and 92 for jumping, which makes him rarely lose a head duel (including scoring goals from a corner), I'd give it 9/10 just because he's not high for defending, but it's something that ingame goes unnoticed. In my team, he plays alongside Thiago Mendes, both from MC, with Thiago being medium/high, playing a little further back.
ACCELERATION - 98 w/ shadow
PERFECT PASSING
DRIBBLING - not so agile, but really keeps the ball and even passes by defenders quite well
DEFENDING - use shadow and stats speak for itself, very good, very solid
ATTACKING - always shows up attacking, has a good finishing and a crazy shot power, good long shots. High composure makes him rarely miss a goal
HEADING - 97 and jumping 92, crosses are a menace if he is in the box, plus, almost never loses a duel with others players
Medium workrate for defending - don't bothered me but may be crucial depending on how and where will play him
Stamina - could be higher but never needed to sack him ingame
3*/3* weak foot and skills - at least 4/4 would be really perfect for a CM
For roughly 150k on Xbox, RTTF Tolisso has all the makings of a high value play for your FUT squad. Seductive French and Bayern links. Gullit Gang. Crazy reactions and passing stats.
If it was only so simple. This card is cheap for a reason, and it's because the abysmal work rates, pace, and stamina make him the first midfielder you'll ever want to sub. I was surprisingly underwhelmed with this card in elite rivals and 11-14 wins in the Wl, and this is why:
Let's start with the good. His passing is nice, and when he's on the ball, he wont easily lose it. Going forward, he offers some potency, with nice long shots you'll never take unless in an emergency. Oh yeah, and the strong link with TOTY Lewandowski is big. You don't need Lewandowski at 10 chem (8 he's amazing still), but if you are a bit obsessive, this is the card for you.
That's the good side. Unfortunately, the combination of his work rates and pace means his offering go only forward.. 81 interceptions and 80 defensive awareness means passes will fly by him. If you have stay back CMs /CDMs, that means he's going to be a liability. Cards from promos 3 months ago are better. Defensively, the Etebo SBC better (and cheaper at 80k) and has MORE overall stats, and the RTTF Kamara card offers more in work rates and defense at only 40k. Kante is cheaper and more impactful as well, and with the game winding down, a filler CM is a big weakness to exploit.
It's kinda sad. Tolisso may be the most irrelevant Gullit gang card ever, and even with a few upgrades, his defensive stats will always be lacking. I replaced him with Kamara and my WL turned around. For Bayern fans only.
