So guys, we're here for another review, this time I'll review De Ketelaere but to makes things easy I'll just call him Charles. So i was able to pull Charles from a player pick a couple days ago, and he fits my team perfectly since I got TOTS KDB and 2 icons (PIM Lahm and PIM Cantona). I'm currently using the 352 formation, but since i have PIM Cantona and Vini jr TOTS (i know kinda lucky, made a review on him couple days ago if u want to check it out) I coulnd't use him in the striker position, and, since I got PIM Lahm and TOTS KDB i couldn't use him in the midfield aswell, so I tried him in the LM position in the 352 with an ENGINE on. Let me say u guys that it takes a couple games to get used to him and I'll explain why:
Personal Characteristics: 192cm and High and Average+ body type makes him feel kinda clunky when sprinting (as it should) but let me tell u that's not a problem when left sticking without sprinting, he has H/H workrates which makes him perfect for that LM role going forward and helping my CB's when my opp team has the ball, then he is a double 4 star player which is really usefull in any position. For traits he has the early crosser trait which is really good when playing in the LM spot in the 352 since he can pull out unexpected crosses to my Cantona.
Pace: He's not the fastest, but this type of more physical oriented players they can outshoulder the defenders and win the frontside of the play, since i got engine on him he runs fast enough to get into spaces on the wing.
Shooting: He will usually get in good positions in the box (I have in his instructions to get him into the box for crosses), positions that he uses to finish really well, low 90's on every shooting stat makes him a menace when it comes to finish in the box, he's got a really good weak foot too, and as u can expect he will win a lot of headers cause of his height and cause of his 95 heading acc. when u cross from the right to the left side of the pitch (in my case i have Headliner Cancelo as my RM so he can deliver some good crosses to Charles)
Passing: As I told u guys up there I use engine on Charles making his passing even better, he usually doesn't miss a lot of passes but like everyplayer sometimes he misses the simple 5 meter pass, I can't blame him since passing is really inconsistent in this game that even my TOTS KDB misses some from time to time. I gotta say tho that he's crosses are top notch with the early crosser trait, 99 crossing and 97 curve with engine expect him to cross like a prime roberto carlos from that left side.
Dribbling: Here it comes the fun part of Charles, we can say that he’s clunky when sprinting cause of his size and body type, but I’ll have to disagree when people say he’s clunky when left sticking cause he’s really good at that, if u look closely even without engine chem style, u can see that he has 98 ball control with 95 dribbling, in the box he has those small touches that helps him to get into really good positions to finish, overall really good dribbling for his height and body type.
Defending: I gotta say that i love this Charles card because he is like a LB when I don’t have the ball, 92 def. awareness makes him being in the right places to intercept the ball (so yes I think he is a good option in the midfield too) with decente stats on the other defensive aspects I can garantee u guys that he will always help you to defend with quality, he can even score a lot from crosses as I told up there with the 95 Heading Accuracy.
Physicality: I cal him the Belgium Gullit because of his physical stats too, he’s not the most agressive but with that size he’ll seem like a Vieira with that long legs always trying to recover the ball back just after losing it, 90 strength makes him god tier when running on the wing against the oppsite RB and the 99 stamina just makes him a train that work day n night on that left side, 77 jumping isn’t a problem since he’s 192 cm tall.
Conclusion: I think that for this price and if u can link him u should give this man a try, even if u dont use 352 he can be meta at striker or at side CM in the 41212 narrow and CM in the 442/4222/4231 formation. I really enjoyed Charles and I’m lookig forward to use him more.
For those asking he’s got 15 goals and 8 assists in 12 games all of them in elite division.
