A pair of Hero SBCs have come and gone and if you were lucky enough to pack this sharp shooter I would love to hear in the comments how he is playing for you … and also curse your name for the ridiculous luck. After getting Mostovoi in the first Hero SBC I would have to say that I have been a little bit gun shy on the two latest packs… that and I just finished dumping all of my fodder into Salah, so there is that as well. However, when paying the coins for Di Natale this weekend I was hoping the result would be a return to Rank I, finishing in the top tier back to back for the first time this FIFA… and thankfully my hopes turned into reality across the 20 match grind. The formation almost picked itself for this weekend as the 4-2-2-2 worked wonderfully last weekend and throughout the week… and if you are interested you can find those tactics in my latest review. And while the formation was simple, the chemistry style proved a real issue to settle on as I tried both the HAWK and HUNTER style equally across the 15 matches before settling on the HAWK style to close out the remaining challenges. Di Natale was the lethal weapon all weekend long in the following squad:
I think that the fact that Di Natale turned out to be fun to use, fox in the box, sharp shooting wonder-card wouldn’t come as much of a surprise. But what did turn out interesting was how different of a card Di Natale plays when given the HAWK and/or HUNTER chemistry style application. With the HAWK application, I felt Di Natale’s pace suffered more than it should have, the shooting became sublime and the physicality was enough to fight for and create chances. With the HUNTER chemistry style Di Natale’s speed felt much improved… but the lack of shot power saw more “should be” goals getting saved, while the physicality became even more of an issue. But one thing was abundantly clear… regardless of your choice this card will be a key contributor to the majority of squads.
Main Statistic - Shooting
Shooting Rating: 9.5/10
Weak Foot: ★★★★
One weekend removed from a 5 STAR WEAK FOOT striker and I was generally disappointed all weekend. For those that have used Di Natale you will know that he can definitely belt them on his least favorite left foot, hence the 9.5/10 rating. However, it was not a 10/10 and those few and far between efforts on Di Natale’s weak foot that didn’t find their mark are exactly why. Otherwise, the 97 FINISHING, 97 SHOT POWER & 99 LONG SHOTS were outstanding and both contributed and hindered Di Natale’s goal totals across the 15 matches. Why do I say hindered? If you look at the stats you see 18 matches played… but between gifted and early quits it was honestly more like 12 matches in terms of minutes and I really should have included the remaining two matches. When players are clinical, opponents tend to quit sooner, and therefore limited the overall minutes Di Natale played compared to past reviews.
It took me way too long to realize this cards dribbling potential during this review and probably cost the Italian two or three more goals minimum in the early stages. Standing at 170cm | 5’7 I thought this card could and would make a mockery of the 87 AGILITY & 91 BALANCE, turning defenders inside out in and around the box. The truth, I actually found Di Natale underperformed based on his stats and size. I actually thought this review might be headed in a bad direction until I realized it was the 91 BALL CONTROL, 89 DRIBBLING & 97 ACCELERATION that truly make this card special. The amount of “quick shift of direction and blast the ball” goals that I scored in the second half of this review was eye opening and even in my qualification for next weekend league (after the review was over of course) Di Natale has been a growing contributor in the goals department.
Value/Coins & Good vs. Bad
Value/Coins Rating: 4/5
Good vs Bad Rating: 5/5
A slight downturn in the market and two Hero SBCs was enough to certainly cost me over 100k to complete this review as I have lost a lot on this card… but it still isn’t quite enough for me to say that this card is perfect value for coins. In fact if I had to pick a good comparison it would be another Hero in the form of Robbie Keane who more aligns with what I would expect for Di Natale’s price. True, Keane isn’t the best passer and Di Natale just edges the Irishman in most categories… but in the end they both just get the job done in front of goal and nothing outside of that from Di Natale’s performance really warrants the lofty price tag compared to Keane in my mind.
If this card was just that little bit stronger on the ball (and of course a 5 STAR WEAK FOOT) I think he would be moving closer to a 9.5/10 overall. The use of a HUNTER chemistry style would be more enticing and the card would be more of a menace in general. But after that it is a lot of high praise for Di Natale as his 86 SHORT PASSING felt extremely crisp and accurate and if my opponent left gaps defensively I always knew Di Natale would produce the magic to exploit them. Additionally, beyond maybe Sadio Mane I am not sure a card has run the channels and found open space the way that Di Natale does. In a weird way, this once again seemed to hinder Di Natale’s production numbers as his early moves often led to a “second assist” in many cases. Despite not padding statistics, I still noticed… and continue to be impressed with the areas this card finds in between my opponents lines… a must have in the more drop-back meta we seem to be experiencing.
Closing Words
This is one of those reviews that I find myself in two minds when it comes to my final thoughts… Hopefully, this self-induced Q and A helps you decide either way on using, saving for, or avoiding this card altogether. Is Di Natale a great card? Undoubtedly. Do I think he gives you 600k worth of value? Not really. Are there many cards that can match the 90+ Pace, Dribbling and Shooting that Di Natale boasts? Absolutely not! Will the card improve most squads? 100% Is the card fun? Hell ya! So with all of that in mind, I leave it up to you to make a decision on this card. For me, he is simply too expensive for my squad… and I would be saying this even if I didn’t complete weekly reviews and need the coins. Hoping you are safe and well. Cheers for reading.
Di Natale is hands down one the best players I have used this year. His overall game apart from defending is insane. Silky smooth dribbling, elite finishing and very good passing. His strength on the ball in the final third is something else I quite haven't seen before. It is almost like he has this invisible shield around him that pushes away defenders. His finesse shots almost always go in from outside the box with little to no pressure. He is very agile and fast in the box, and is always causing a problem for opposition defenders. His heading surprised me too. His shots are crazy hard, and combined with elite finishing almost guarantees a goal or more per game. My final word is if you have the coins, get him.
most reviews are focused on how good the player is without giving comparisons so people can roughly know what they might be dealing with , and for that reason i'm here to tell you this; I have tried those players already [baby dalglish - CR7 - Mbappe - mid Del Piero - baby Puskas ] and i can say with full confidence that this guy is better all in all.
He is fast-agile-shots inside/outside the box are insane ! out of 10 shots you will score 9 easily .. his 4* WF is a lie .. its 5* believe me, and even his passing is incredible !
I play him as a lone striker with Vinisus SI and Politano RTTK and mid Del Piero behind in a 4-3-3(4) formation and with get in behind instructions
I have seen lots of comments saying he is good as a cam, he is but why the hell would you waste such a player in a cam position while you can easily get a hattrick each game !!
I highly recommend him and i guess he is end game or at least till TOTS come
So he was one of my favourite players from fifa 13 so i somehow sniped him on Xbox i was so happy and oh boy does he play well in game going to keep it nice and short. Team used below
Okay where do I start. I packed this man from the Hero guarantee, which has been perhaps my best decision in this Fifa to do it. The hype I had as I started building my team to use Di Natale was very exciting. I loaded up Fifa and decided I'll play one game of rivals and then play qualifiers. I am currently in Div 1 and struggling to get wins. Everyone I play has meta teams and sit back so I struggle to break them down. With Di Natale's first game I knew I was going to enjoy playing the game again. In his first game Di Natale hit the post and crossbar from outrageous distances and then he finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assists. I still managed to struggle defensively and drew 3-3, but from that one game my confidence shot up. I dived straight into qualifiers and yet again Di Natale balled. I managed to get 5 wins and qualified (I just need to give the rest of the wins away) but even in the game I lost, I enjoyed playing. I cannot stress enough how good of a striker this man is, if you have anything close to the 1 mil asking price I recommend going for it. He makes the best attacking runs I've seen. He doesn't miss on his right foot and the left is dangerous too. He's fast, agile, clinical and has very good passing for a striker. He is the best card I have used so far this Fifa and definitely the best I have owned this early in any Fifa. In 7 games I played with him last night, he managed 17 goals and 2 assists. Those numbers are insane and the main reason I am writing this review. Please at least try him out if you have the coins.
Pace: Outpaced nearly everyone he came into a race with.
Shooting: The best shot I have used in any Fifa, without a doubt.
Dribbling: Feels nice on the ball and can get himself out of tight situations.
Passing: 85 passing is extremely good and I cannot recall a bad pass made by him.
Traits: Finesse shot
Outside foot shot
Strength: 70 strength isn't bad for someone of his build but due to the low aggression I found him getting pushed off the ball by some CB when they sometimes managed the get side by side with Di Natale.
Aggression: 56 aggression is very low but it can be brought up using a hawk.
I was lucky enough to pack Di Natale in my Hero pack, and I immediately moved my squad around to fit him in the starting 11, and he will stay there for a while too. Anyway, he plays as a striker in the 442 formation and I use a Hunter chemistry style, this suits him most for how I play, as I found his key contribution in game was his ability to provide options due to his great positioning. He seemed to always be in a great position to run in behind, hence the hunter chemistry style, and if you know what you are doing, his shooting ability makes it easy to score. Additionally, even without a chemistry style boosting his dribbling, I found it a pleasant surprise. His combination of agility and control made him able to make key movements in and around the box which placed him in space to shoot on many occasions. Furthermore, combining the finesse shot trait, raw shooting and curve made for deadly plays. One of the most effective things I used Di Natale for was to receive the ball on the edge of the box, quickly turn and finesse it in before giving the opponent the chance to recover, this has saved me many times. Finally, Di Natale provided excellent playmaking services, his key passes were so much better than the other attackers in my team, which I think is very important because you don't want to lose a chance to score because your forward messed up the pass, which happened to Di Natale very rarely.
Chance Creation (Runs, Positioning)
Finishing ability
Agile, quick dribbling
Finesse shots
Playmaking and passing
Strength, quite easily blocked from ball or pushed off it
No aerial threat, which is fine because he is usually the one taking corners/crossing
Inconsistent shots, occasionally (Mainly his shot power seemed weird but not often)
Italian league doesn't have many meta players (But he gets perfect link to Italian in Serie A so not too hard to fit)
This guy is just amazing. Dribbling, scoring is unbelievable. I'm just a div 2/3 player but this guy is amazing. 11 games 14 goals so far, 9 of those games in futchamps and 2 in rivals. Just press ''o'' and it''s a goal lmao
Antonio Di Natale is by far the best card I've used this year: for only 520k (Xbox) he was game-changing for me and took me all the way to Rank 3 in Champs (had no time to finish at the end). He has everything I need in a striker and outclassed the likes of IF Vinicius. Overall I would recommend this card to anyone needing a reliable striker. His shooting, pace, and dribbling truly made this card feel unbelievable. Now I may not be very good at the game, but he made me feel unbeatable, and no other card has done that for me before.
-Shooting - Crazy finishing and long shots
-Pace
-Dribbling - Even with his Agility and Balance not being his best stats, Di Natale felt very smooth on the ball and was very responsive
-Physicality - I was not expecting to say this but he was rarely getting pushed of the ball, but that is probably thanks to the Hawk chemstyle.
-Links - Serie A and Italy have very good players to link with Di Natale this year.
-Passing - His passing was okay, but not as reliable as his passing stats suggest: he gave bad passes too often for me.
-Stamina - Not too much of a problem but I felt like he was getting tired too quickly compared to the rest of the team
-4* 4* - Unfortunately this card does not have 5* 5* but I don't think he really needs it
After I bought him not only my results changed but, my game style changed as well. He is agile, quick and a great shooter. He might be a little pricy, but he is worth every single coin.
This man is a MACHINE. I used him as a striker in a 442(2) with 88 Muriel and they're elite. Now that his price dropped pretty much I'll recommend it to everyone, especially if you need Serie A links. Very responsive, Di Natale feels great on the ball and he's an unbelievably clinical finisher, I scored many headers with him even if his height is definitely below average. Sometimes I feel him a little bit slow, many CBs are able to reach and bully him, but that's not a big deal because of his balance and his ball control. A problem I noticed is his stamina, after about 70 minutes his speed is visibly lower and he needs to be subbed (luckily i packed 86 Ito a couple days ago and he subs him really well).
