85 - Icon
4.0
Good but not worth more 400k
By SKG13, 10-11-2021

I bought El Niño the day the base icon upgrade SBC released, because I saw him very cheap, and my idea was to sell him right away for profit. But I just could not resist the temptation, so I decided to keep him and try him out. I used him in Elite division and on the WL qualifiers. I gave him an engine chem style, since I thought his dribbling stats were not amazing (84 agility, 80 balance and 84 dribbling) and I thought his dribbling was quite okay, but you could deffo notice his 186cm/6'11'' height and his "High & Average" body type when doing tight quick turns. His pace felt good, once he had an advantage it is very difficult to catch him, since he feels really strong on the ball. His aerial game was very surprising, he won a couple of corners and was constantly a threat from crosses (and I don't cross that much). His passing with an engine was also decent, he could complete normal passes and simple through balls, but don't expect remarkable passing from him (only 71 on the base card). One problem I found with him was the finishing, with an engine chem style he had 87 finishing with 81 shot power. His finishing is not bad, but I was expecting more from an icon like him. His biggest weakness is the medium / medium work-rates. Sometimes he didn't perform good runs in behind the defense, and he would just stay static between the opponent's midfield and defense. For these reason I decided to try him with a hunter chem style, which made indeed his finishing better than before, but did not fix his run-making ability. Additionally, he lost the bit of dribbling and passing boost from the engine chem style, which for my play style are very important in a striker. In conclusion, I would say, that whether you chose to give him a hunter or an engine chem style, you are going to have to make significant sacrifices with this card.

El Niño - THE GOAT

Too good of a card to pass on. Finesse long shots are OP. He can muscle his way through defenders and dribble passed them. M/M work rate can affect his attacking and positioning for some fast building plays. I've played 31 games and scored 33 goals with him with some cheeky assist. I, personally, like when strikers can move and pass the call to others to facilitate plays... so he's been amazing in assisting when paired with...
