89 - Winter Wildcards
Pace:
I had the audacity to slap a hunter on Fabinho and I couldn't be more satisfied. With the chemistry style, I would say he feels like 93-94 pace honestly with the acceleration being very noticeable and impressive. Arguably, the pace is meta and very good for a 6 ft 2 natural CDM. The unique body type could also play a role in his pace on the ball and off it.
Shooting:
Insane! 4 star weak foot feels like 5 a lot of the time, unless it's a finesse shot. Finesse shots are not the way to go with this card, but power shots and even distance shooting is world class and definitely aided by a hunter chemistry style. As a primary central CAM for me in a 4-2-3-1, he's always where he needs to be and has the work rates to be in position for the finish. Really impressed with the finishing capabilities.
Passing:
Passing ability here is pretty standard and perhaps below the meta, but it feels a lot better in game than the stats show. 13 assists out of 18 games certainly isn't bad and he finds the right pass a majority of the time, whether it be a brought down header or a low delivery. I don't think you'll have any issues delivering in the final 3rd with this card, especially if you have the forwards around him to put up goals.
Dribbling:
Even with such cracked shooting, dribbling was where I was most taken away. In game, he's tall, lean, and agile and certainly feels like he has really good control of the ball. With my chemistry style, dribbling stats are untouched and I do not think that there is any need to boost these stats at all. Composure is also a big plus, especially if being used as a CAM or forward of some capacity. 4 star skills makes skill moves feel like a breeze, even with a guy of this height to weight ratio and I have always felt confident about taking players on with Fabinho.
Defending:
Oh how the times have changed. As a natural CDM, he still has those just good enough defending stats to still play there if you so chose and a shadow chemistry style isn't at all a bad idea. I haven't touched his heading accuracy, but I do believe that it needs to be touched on especially if you're going to use him as a forward for ariel battles. High/Medium work rates show in game and he doesn't get back on defense near as much as he does on his standard card, but still enough to win possession with physicality and under-minded standing tackling capabilities.
Physicality:
Tall, lean, unique body type, and assertive in his runs. This card isn't the easiest card to physically overpower, but not the hardest either. I think that physically, he was actually made just right. Winning headers is a breeze and he can run all game without any issues, even if going beyond the 90th. I wouldn't touch these stats with a chemistry style, as you can use stat boosts elsewhere that may need it and his physicality should be more than good enough for the meta.
Overall:
This is one of my favorite cards this year so far. I have genuinely enjoyed playing with it and I think that he's worth the cost on the market, especially for playstation and PC users at the moment. There are many good CAMs and attacking options in the premier league and in Brazil, but for me I can't push this card out for all the right reasons. Fabinho may not be one of the best players you'll use, but he's versatile and incredibly fun for a reasonable price I think.
