86 - Icon
This Fran Riijkaard touched me in a 50k objectives pack. Being intrans, I decided to put him in my team and incidentally become that berjwin who gave him the perfect chemistry. I did not have high hopes for it but the reality is that it surprised me since I did not think it was better than Kessie or Goretzka (which are the two best MCD I had used) and more or less it is at their level. Defensively he is great, he steals a lot of balls because of his long legs, and with the ball he is not excessively trunk. If iyou pack him on an icon it is an F but if you want to try new cards or need chemistry for your team it is a good option
Great defense
So strong

So I’ll be honest. At first when I saw Base Frank Rijkaard in my base/mid icon SBC pack, I was really disappointed. At first, he seemed slow and quite unusable. I also saw many people complaining about his card. Since I worked hard to get the SBC done, I thought “Why not just try him? Maybe he’ll at least be okay for me.” And so I went ahead and used him in Div 3 in Rivals. I can’t lie, his defensive work is brilliant. His legs are always after passes and his bodying is good too. If you put a shadow on him, he will get to 80 pace which is actually okay. Keeping on stay back or help defense alongside a quick player is very good. The quick player can get to the attacker and Rijkaard can easily deal with the scraps. Do I think he will be out of this classification soon as well? Possibly. He may become completely unusable (which he currently is usable depending on how you define it.) So if you pack him, I recommend you to at least give him a go and not just leave him in the club for good. Overall, Rijkaard isn’t the worst pill and can be played if used correctly.
