Paqueta is soo good in the midfield. I played him next to rulebreakers Marco verratti and honestly paqueta is better. He intercepts so many balls and he leads the team up soooooooo well. most time I play Tiki Takas between him and beckham and rip on with either of them. He is so good, and his dribbling is world class. he turns like a figure skater and his left foot is class. his passing is also very very good he hits 60 yard pings just as well and beckham. overall if you have a ligue 1 team complete him.
passing
dribbling
interceptions
long shots
weak foot
physicality
I tend do go towards all-brazilian teams in FUT, so I complete every possible SBC and challenge to get and test out players.
I start with a 4-3-2-1 formation and sometimes change to 4-1-2-1-2 or a 4-3-3 with 2 cdms and a cm, when ingame. I play in div 4, best finish in div 3 and I would consider myself a casual player (no more than 500 something games up to this point).
Paqueta was supposed to replace Paulinho, who up to that point was brilliant for me as a box-to-box midfielder. He lacked a bit in pace, passing was "ok", so the Ligue 1 midfielder seemed to be a perfect fit. I played around 40 games with him as that no.8/secondary DM/true CM and .. well I felt dissapointed. I used the shadow chem style for that pace boost, and to make him a reliable ball winner in the middle of the pitch or near my goal.
He is decent in all of his stats, but in the end does not produce any spectacular results and does not have any "wow" factors about him.
His dribbling is what I would call regular, especially if you're used to playing Vini Jr., and Neres, even Fred is more reliable to hold the ball and pass opponents.
Passing is ok, again nothing out of the ordinary, can't really say he pushed the ball forward or facilitated attacks. Just a guy you bounce the ball of if necessary.
Shooting was plain awful. Outside and inside the box. The only chance to score is if he got a pass to an open goal.
Defending was ok. Fred does most of the work usually, but Paqueta could win balls. I was expecting him to be a wall with that shadow on him, but instead - just a solid guy.
Less than 50% aerial duels won, never scored with a header (Paulinho did that more often than not).
In the end when I subbed Renato Sanches in his place and even my old faithful Paulinho they would be way more productive off the bench.
If you got spare fodder to throw for and SBC or You are addicted to brazilian players - go for it
Does not excel in anything, nothing special about him
