90 - Icon
Very nice face to see after opening a prime icon pack. As a United fan I felt like though his stats may be a bit behind at this point I still had to use him. Slapped a shadow on him and slid him right next to HM Rudiger and oh wow. Though Rudiger feels a bit better, Rio can definitely hold his own against the meta attackers in this stage in the game. Heading is great and auto-blocks are broken. He definitely has that X-Factor you like to see with icons where they play a bit above their stats. Once I get Cafu from swaps, I don't think I'll ever concede another goal.

Can be a bit slow if caught on the counter but not much and if you can defend well you'll be fine
Seeing this player walk out of my prime icon pack was great! I thought finally a great CB to pair with saliba. Oh how mistaken I was. He frequently is caught out of position (medium/medium?) and often loses the ball vs attackers due to his inability to hold the ball. He has a fantastic tackle when he's not out of position and isn't actually slow at all (not understanding those comments whatsoever) but his horrible positioning renders it all mute, he costs me so many goals sitting way too far back (or way too far forward) and keeping people onside or just being caught in nomans land. Maybe if you play more conservative he will be perfect for you, but I play fast and with pressure (1900 SR elite old gen) and he simply gets caught out far too much at this level.

Positioning - Absolutely shocking if you play a high line, invalidates every strong point about tackling

Lower aggression then most meta CBs is noticeable (loses a lot of 50/50s vs strong strikers)
Horrible value for money (campbell is the same and 300k less)

absolute scandal. dot him out of prime icon pp, view my ratings on him like and i think youll guess my opinion. comparing him to the other 2 cbs that i use (capita and boscagli) he just gets embarrassed
legit none if anything his physical, not easily pushed off the ball
everything other than physical
Div 1/Elite player.
Extremely disappointing. Got him from mid/prime PP and was moderately excited to use. Before him I used FS Saliba and he was pretty good but he dropped Dest's chem so Prime Rio was a a good option.
Overall he is an extremelly disappointing CB. His pace is fine, but everything else is bad. Dribbling is truly shambolic, this guy turns slower than the Slabhead. Passing is very very suspect and he will frequently mess up simple passes to the CDM or to the LB/RB. Long passing is out of the question with him.
Physically he is also very underwhelming. He was regularly outmuscled in long balls by Ben Yedder and other forwards that Saliba would easily crush. Additionally his pace isnt high enough to give him an Anchor so you are pretty much stuck with using a Shadow on him.
After giving up on him I have used FS Saliba, FB Sanchez, FB Vezo and POTM Koulibaly and all of them are more reliable and secure than Ferdinand. If he was 100k maybe give him a try, but paying 500k for an extremelly unreliable CB is just not a good use of your coins imo.
Okay pace, with a Shadow he can be competitive
Tackles and jockeying are good enough
Catastrophic dribbling
Very unreliable passing
Physically not strong enough
