Player Review

I recently completed the icon moments pack and packed Casillas. At first I was bummed because I didn’t want a gk even though it’s the only position on my team that I REALLY needed to improve. Anyways, I decided to give him a try and oh my. Being used to all keepers being trash in this game I found casillas to be a god. Of course he isn’t infallible and high percentage strikes will most likely go in, I say most likely because I have found that with him there is a higher chance than with other normal gks I’ve used (De Gea, Handanovic, Sirigu, Trapp…) that he will save you just when you think all is lost.

Of course he isn’t perfect and I can’t say he is the best gk in the game as I have not tried the other icon gks in the game except for Cech, who is also very good. The only slight disadvantage is the height (185cm) as sometimes I noticed that when my opponent shot from outside the box. Nevertheless, the high reactions and positioning and diving compensate for it as he is incredible in 1vs1 also due to his high speed and I found that there is a higher chance of him saving a chipped shot compared to other gks.

Overall I would give Casillas a solid 9,5/10. I believe that it is worth the price especially during tots as you can secure yourself an endgame gk that’s also great for links.

He was quite good however had some weaknesses. His diving and 1 on 1s are really good but his height makes him weak against chips and finesse shots. I was disappointed to get him out of my moments upgrade but he's not that big of an L. His dynamic makes the card 10x better too.

I recently completed his SBC and at first I was skeptical, but ingame he was a beast on the 1v1 scenario. He was catching upper 90 saves (top bins) but I noticed against chip/finnese he would sometimes not reach them (due to the fact hes 6'1) but sometimes he'll save them due to his great positioning. My last keeper was Alisson so it was a huge improvment.

oh.. and he has the best dynamic image.

So basically after getting a new team I needed a consistent and good goalkeeper and I tried all Icon Moments one but this guy really was outstanding. I thought his height would maybe be a problem but that wasnt the case. He is so quick and agile and surprisingly good at saving long shots. If you try him, I suggest bringing him out on 1v1s because of his Saves with Feet Trait and his pace. He rarely let anything go in the goal but ofcourse some unfortunately did but thats just normal. The thing about that I like most is that although he cant always keep the ball in his hands, he never makes any silly mistakes. I really enjoy playing with him.

This is my first EVER review of a player. I always love reading the reviews of players to see what others are experiencing, and I NEEDED to do a review over this Moments Iker Casillas card (150+ games played).. Possibly the worst GK I have ever used in FIFA...

First a little background.

Before, I had TOTY Mendy at GK (300+ games played), which wasn't too bad at all! Only knock on him I had was he was too slow, and had some really bad animations where he would give up silly goals. Because of that, I had been looking and waiting for a better GK ever since. So when Icon Moments Iker Casillas became available, I thought it was a no brainer!

That being sad, Casillas IS faster than Mendy. Casillas also doesn't have a problem with dumb animations being the reason for goals being scored on me. And that's about it, those are the ONLY traits Casillas is better than Mendy at (in my opinion).

I feel like a big problem with him is his height. The game lists him at 6'1. Feels like he is 5'1, I mean EVERYONE towers over him.

Casillas can NOT stop a shot to save his life! Almost every finesse shot goes in, especially if the finesse shot is outside the box. He can't stop any chip shots. Almost every shot will go over his hands. Even on penalties!! You can guess right, but he is too short that you will never be able to stop a shot with the upper corners. In 150+ games he is giving up about 3 goals per game.. Which sucks because I need to put up about 4 goals a game to get a win.. VERY frustrating.

Now I will admit when he is 1v1 he isn't the worst. When the defense breaks down or you "accidentally" get your CB out of position, THAT's when Casillas will make surprising saves. But the shots that are routine to other GK's he doesn't save those for some reason.

I know Casillas has "Saves with feet" trait but doesn't happen as often as I expected (about same as Mendy).

He also has "Comes for crosses" but more often than not he just punches it clear.

I just feel like if this card is worth 6 teams (Bronze, Silver, 83, 85, 85, 87 team) and cost about 290k to complete, I shouldn't be having this many problems with him. Especially since he is a 93 OVR, he should be better. My TOTY Mendy at an 89 OVR felt better. To bad I used him for Casillas SBC..

Overall, I really wish I kept Mendy and the players I had to give up to get Casillas.

Don't make the same mistake and keep your fodder, wait for someone worth it! I mean Lloris or Alisson are both 95 OVR and are only 100k.

I gave him 5 star "Game Changer" because I used to be solid, until I got Casillas and he literally changed the game for me. In a bad way.
