Wout the Machine Weghorst
By GerjanB, 02-04-2022

After I saw the leaks about Weghorst I thought: Yeah this card is gonna be great! When he came out I was shocked that he cost around 300k.

After a weekend league with prime Henry, who I found to stiff, I was scared that this guy would be as stiff as prime Henry.

I've played 6 games with him in qualification: 12 goals and 4 assist. What a machine is Wout!

He. Does. Not. Miss! He is not as smooth as Messi on the ball offcourse, but he is pretty smooth!

I applied the engine chem style, that makes his passing almost perfect.

His physicals with his 97 dribbling after the engine chem style makes this guy untouchable. No one can get him off the ball.

Now I hope that Burnley gets the win and makes this card better then most 500k strikers in this game.

The ower

Let's start off with the price, it's steep for sure.

For me i prefer trying to get 20-0 in Champs with non-meta teams, and i have to say Weghorst made playing FIFA fun again.

Shall we start with the positives?

This lad is GIGANTIC, the versatility is really strong with Weghorst.

You want to get in behind? Yeah Weghorst ain't the fastest, but the decent pace combined with his insane strength makes it easy when the right situations occur.

The strength combined with the aggression makes him come out with the ball in magical ways like Mbappe, he also wins the ball high really often because of his long legs.

Ôh so you like to cross? Here's the tower you're looking for!

His heading is really amazing, the power header trait is insane. Still i have to say i expected him to win more headers considering he's really tall.

On corners he's unstoppable.

Agility/Dribble: Considering his height it's really nice, reminds me of the Tammy Abraham.

Are you expecting a Neymar though, you'll be really disappointed, cause compared to the little guys he's real clunky.

The 4* skills doesn't come off great all the time, but still for a big lad they impressed me.

Finishing: Inside the box it goes in, simple as that.

Long shots are weak though, and the finesses don't really work tbh.

Passing: Perfect for a striker, both short and long passing is pretty much pin-point,

Could easily play CAM, if you don't take long-shots that is.

A short review from me today, but if you want something different Weghorst is really fun.

Your opponent pushes you wide? Crossing it is.

He's playing a high line? In behind.

He's dropping deep? Well, Weghorst has the strength to keep the CB's behind him and the agility to turn them inside-out.

Is he meta? Of course not.

Is he fun? Hell yeah!

  • Finishing inside the box
  • Headers
  • Strength
  • Aggression
  • Dribble (for a big lad)
  • Passing
  • I can't say pace alone, but if you combine it with the strength it's a positive
  • Long shots
  • Doesn't feel like 92 pace because of the 88 acceleration.

Wout Wegbeast
By UtdJL7, 03-04-2022

Did him for a joke and a laugh. I thought "haha 6'6 Burnley striker, let's do him". Well, I'm glad I did. This card is godly. Fast, Lethal finishing, top tier strength, a surprisingly good finesse shot, and most surprisingly, doesn't turn like a bus. No matter the price, this card should be in anyone's team who doesn't require 5* skills to get to the top ranks.

Probably just skill moves, his weak foot feels almost 5* anyway.

Absolutely cracked card for 300k!
By YNWAkraut, 03-04-2022

I don't know where to start.

Weghorst was a card I absolutely had to have in the first place - just because of the incredible stats. Yes, it's a bit of a risk because a SBC like this should cost more like 200k and not over 300k. You never know how a player feels ingame. Will he be sluggish, clunky, like a tank? Will he feel much slower than the card promises?

Anyway, I couldn't resist having a 197cm tall centre forward with 90 Agility, 97 Composure, 97 Reactions, 99 Heading Accuracy and 90 Jumping in my team, who at the same time gets 96 speed from the HAWK chem style and has some crazy shooting stats too. 4*4*. 10 games / 27 goals / 5 assists in Division 2 is just unreal by my standards.

Weghorst plays like a cheat code. He can hardly be kept off the ball, is amazingly agile for his body type and size and actually can't miss the goal. I haven't played a player in FUT 22 who has got more power in his shots. Sometimes the strikes go very close to the goalie, but are much too rapid and so the keeper can never react in time and is always left out in the cold. With Weghorst 4WF is basically a 5. The heading is outrageous. He is easily the most superior header in the game. Weghorst is unstoppable and it is absolutely no fun to play against him. Definitely meta and definitely a must have. You can sometimes get much weaker strikers for twice the price. So he is worth his coins and you absolutely should NOT MISS OUT on him!

Weghorst can do it all. He's the perfect No.9.

This card is ridiculous
By ingloriousbasta, 06-04-2022

I like to shift between three formations: 4-3-3(4), 4-1-2-1-2 narrow, and 4-4-2 depending on how my opponent defends. Given that one of the striker slots is filled by a winger (Salah), I needed my other striker to have a different profile. I'll break down where he fits in each tactic below.

4-3-3(4):

  • Weggy instructions: Stay central, Target man, stay forward.

With this formation the main idea is for the ST to receive the ball and hold it until the wingers and CAM can break through any gaps in the defensive line. I find Weghorst is the best in the game at this role. He is a little stronger on the ball than Kane so rarely loses the ball when L2 is held. He also has devastating pace and good agility/balance, which means he can also turn and run into gaps in the defence himself. This creates all number of problems. This tactic is less useful when the opposition defends deep and compact, so I switch to one of the below.

4-1-2-1-2 narrow:

  • Weg instructions: Stay central, Target man.
  • Second ST instructions: Stay central, get in behind.

I use this formation to overload defences in the middle. Weghorst is involved in two phases here. The first is in transition. If the opponent doesn't close down, I can play snappy passes through midfield. If the opponent closes down aggressively, I want an out-ball to the central ST. These opponents instinctively close down the ST the same way they do in midfield. Here, Weggy causes massive problems. With his 6'6" height and maximum jumping, heading accuracy, aggression and strength, Weggy wins every aerial battle. When the opponent closes down (and with a ST partner on 'get in behind') this often leaves a gap for an accurate header to set the second ST through on goal. I think with Weghorst's stats (and from my experience in game) he is the best in the game at this.

4-4-2:

  • Weg instructions: Stay central, Target man, Stay forward
  • Second ST instructions: Get in behind

This formation is where Weg scores most goals for me. The aim here is to build play down the wings and look to get in a cross. Most players this FIFA use quick STs and low driven crosses, and I keep this option with my second ST. However, Weghorst adds a second dimension to this. While the opposition usually tries to prevent the low driven cross to Salah, I can stick the ball up high onto the penalty spot knowing that Weggy will beat any defender to the ball. Headers aren't easy this FIFA and I don't score them all, but I'm trying to improve because I just create so many chances this way. I would say I score 1 in 10 headers - if I can double that number, then Weghorst is going to score me a bucket of goals.

The final advantage which works for every formation is his strength at set pieces. I used to only score corners if the opponent gave me a free header at the near post. Now, I knock it up to Weggy on the penalty spot and he gets a shot on target EVERY time. It doesn't often score yet - I think because I'm not great at headers - but again if I can improve this very slightly, I think he'll be a goal machine. There just isn't a defender in the game who can beat him in the air.

  1. Aerial ability. The guy is a target man on steroids.
  2. Pace and dribbling. Even if the opponent figures out that they can't beat him in the air, they still have to beat this monster in a foot race.
  3. Unpredictability. Nobody this FIFA plays with a target man. Defenders don't know what to expect.

Honestly, none. The way I want to play, this card is perfect. The only thing I would change is club and nationality to give better green links!
