99 - ShapeShifters
I have never liked Messi this year at all. I gave his OTW and TOTY throughout this Fifa, and I was not very impressed with him. Perhaps it could have been his workrates, lack of 5* skills and strength. However, when I saw this 99 rated card with such juiced stats, I knew I had to give him another shot.
I was blown away by him instantly, scoring a hat trick in the first game. I run a 4-3-2-1, and I put him as a RF on stay forward instructions. Firstly, his new H/L workrates really made a huge difference. Compared to the TOTY who barely made runs and usually waited for the ball to come to him, this SS version was already running when the ball was with my CM in the middle of the pitch. His attacking AI is absurd now, scoring and assisting like nobody's business. He even fights with R9 for goals now.
Next, his 5* SM upgrade really proved handy, especially at the edge of the box, where usually reverse elasticos and such are used to get by defenders to make the extra pass. He is the most agile and silky dribbler, and his skill moves has made him a demon in going past defenders even more seamlessly.
I'm sure you already know about his shooting and passing. He is perfect in doing anything. Over the top through balls are rarely misplaced, and if you have space outside of the box for him to finesse it in, know it's going in 9/10 times. All in all, this Messi is DIFFERENT GRAVY. I know he is super expensive, but he will not be leaving my team anytime soon.

I was happy when i packed him and put him into my team.
In the first few games he did none i passed to him but he is to slow to run away, plus he got not enough stamina to dribble trough in the first few minutes?!?!?
His passing is good on his left foot but his right foot feels bad, he plays like 5*/3* player not like 5*/4* his shots are good on his strong foot but weak foot most likely hit post or shit even with green time.
Overall he played like shit in my team testet him many positions he got 2 normal goals, the other 3 were Freekicks.
I played Saint Maximin on his position before and he will go out, he is slower, got bad weak foot and he is weaker.

I used Messi as a CAM in a 4-1-2-1-2 and man he was INSANE in 10 games he had 13 goals and 8 assists. But for some reason at times he was unresponsive which bothered me a bit but other than that his dribblingterrificazing. Being able to do 5-star skill with a player like Messi is a real treat, especially the ball roll scoops. His passing is out of this world he slots the forwards through so nicely in between the tiniest of spaces. His strength was sometimes a noticeable con with this card which is a downside but with a card like this, you should easily get by defends without them getting close to you. His defense wasnt a real issue because he obviously;y wasn't playing a defensive position. In all, I think this is the best card I've ever used.
