Player Review
89 - TOTS
This 'COP or FLOP' is more of a forray into whether or not the man that once was considered one of the biggest Premier League flops of the last decade, is worth completing and using in your Ultimate Team.
One of Tyneside's two Brazillian talismen, Joelinton is without a doubt the most improved Premier League player of the season. Deservingly, EA have given us a very easy to complete card that can either be done passively in regular Rivals / Champs, or can be grinded out in Squad Battles. A card that will indulge the fantasies of both Newcastle fans and Chemistry gurus alike, with his perfect link to Bruno, this is a highly tempting card indeed. Like that guilty pleasure takeaway that you always indulge in on a friday night after telling the wife you wont, Joelinton really hits the spot like no other. Now that I think you all get the point, I will lay out my review.

The card itself has really nice card stats and upon a deeper inspection, also has some pretty solid in-games. Boasting impressive pace, strong dribbling and passing and competitive physicals, this is a really well balanced card. Given the stats I personally would reccomend either a Shadow, Engine or Anchor chemistry style. It would seem the comments section are also equally impressed at this card and I can't quite beleive I am saying this but EA have really outdone themselves with the TOTS objective players and season level rewards.
The monsterous Brazillian has many strong positives, in game, for me. His excellent passing range, especially his driven forward passes into the final third mean he will often pick up an assist or two every couple of games. In addition he has a Vieira esc ability to hold players off the ball (on it or off it) and is versatile CM. Like a jackknife or a multitool, this human HGV can do a little bit of everything. Personally I don't think he has quite the Agility/Blance to play the high pressing aggressive CDM role that many a FUT player like to play. I therefore reccomend you use him firmly and exclusively as a CM and here he will pick up goals and assists across games.
Unless you have a mega team this is a card for you ! If you have a prem or brazilian based team even better. No, he wont beat out you Matthaus or you Titans Keane into the starting 11, but as a substitute or for those who enjoy a little more sunlight than those with the afformentioned players, he is definitely worth adding into your team. He supplied me with 3G/5A in 10 games of FUT Champs guiding me to a 14-6 finish this week ! For a free card I can't reccomend it enough, and if it were on the market I would imagine him fetching around 100-200K.
Downsides.. Although the Newcastle fans that are pumped on pure ectasy will deny it, there were always going to be some, and as but a servant of the community it is my job to highlight these. Firstly, his 3* SM is slightly frustrating at times, especially if you are not using a fast and versatile CM/CAM alongside him. In addition to this, his balance and agility is not really an issue, but is a little low meaning that personally he doesn't have that seamless jocky ability as other meta CDM's do. Other than that though there aren't too many other negatives I can see other than maybe individual players personal preference.
I hope this review helps and that many more people spice up their teams a little and use this card rather than being yet another boring little ***** and using the same 5 CM's on rotation. Those of you know who I'm talking about...
