Player Review
91 - Flashback SBC
The card is a hot mess.
So far I tried him with both Anchor and Shadow over the span of 10 games in Rivals and WL qualifiers,
As a controlled card he is very slow and you can feel immediately that there is something seriously wrong with him. I have no idea what EA was thinking giving him that 1 more agility than what he needed to become lengthy by default. I will not comment on the controlled version any more he is not worth it period.
As a lengthy card he behaves better on the pitch but you can feel he is not faster than his 86 version of him.
His animations are not anything worth mentioning he feels like the average fodder defender, he doesn't make his presence noticed in the defense. In other words, he doesn't "bite" like fb Ramos, fb Laporte or tots Ake, tots Marquinhos, tots Militao etc.
His positioning is mostly decent, a few mistakes here and there but mostly decent
Aerial presence and strength are solid but nothing to be hyped about.
I would dare to comment that he reminds me the early days of fb Ramos, when everyone was complaining about Ramos lack of sprint speed and his inability to track back and chase fast attackers, until EA buffed him to the point he became the most meta defender. The difference is that Ramos back then was a monster defensively even if he was slow to chase back, unlike Kimpempe who seems like a kitty cat in comparison.
Final verdict
He is very expensive and if EA doesn't buff him good like they did with fb Ramos, he is not really worth the 500k crafting. Better buy a Centurion for 100k.
Lets hope they do buff him cause there is too much hype around this player and the links he provides.
