Player Review

I decided to buy van Basten as an upgrade for Benzema. Benzema was just not cutting it in my opinion. Im a div 3 player right now, qualifying between 8-2 and 10-0. In WL I normally stop after 11 wins. So now about the main man himself. He is absolutely magnificent. He is definitly an upgrade to Benzema. I use him with an engine in a 4-4-2 with messi besides him. So lets go trough the ratings. Before I forget im on PS4 so I dont have to deal with the lenghty players, so this review might be less relevent for PS5 players.

Pace 8/10:

As I said I use van Basten with an engine to boost his pace and dribbling a little bit. Van Basten is a player who should be used in the box not for build up play. U can send a trough ball to him and he will be able to outpace defenders. That has also to do with his strength but we'll get to that later. He is fast on the first few steps which is important in the box. Not really much more to say on the pace

Shooting 10/10:

Well this is what we all want to know. Let me tell you this. HE IS DEADLY. I use Messi, have used benzema and a couple of others strikers. No one comes close to the finishing of van Basten. Im not even over selling it. He is just that good. What makes him really good is that because of his dribbling and strenght he is able to get himself in shooting positions and that is where you want him. His volleys are as on every fifa amazing so no worries there. And to go to the most underrated part on this review about him. It is his positioning. He is always at the right place at the right time by making his fantastic runs. The only other player on the game that I have seen who also does that is Haaland. When you make the back line he will be open to play it back to because of his positioning. That is in my opinion what differates him from other strikers. Oh and before I forget try and use that trivella shot outside the box with him (;

Passing 5/10:

As I already said, you dont want to use him in build up play. He is capable of getting 1-2's because of his short passing being decent but besides that you dont want to involve him unless he can get in shooting positions. Not really much more to say about it. Just dont make him the playmaker.

Dribbling 7/10:

Now here is the interesting part. He is actually capable of turning away from defenders. He obviously doesnt turn like messi, ben yedder, vinicius etc etc. SO DONT USE HIM LIKE THAT. That is the reason for the 7/10 rating. But it is enough to create some space to shoot. Which is all he needs. I think the engine chem style is very usefull to make him able to do this. His composure is very good so no worries there either.

defending 2/10:

Not relevant.

Physical 8/10:

The stat which is much more important this fifa. His strenght is decent enough so that he wont get bullied of the ball. It is just enough for him to still be able to shoot or pass the defender. Which is why I rated it 8/10.

In conclusion. If you want to upgrade your striker and you dont have the money for ronaldo, mbappe etc etc. U just have to give him a chance. He is so so good. Do remember this is written on 20-10-2022. So I dont know what the powercurve will do. But I can assure you that it will be worth it to upgrade to Marco van Basten.
