86 - Winter Wildcards
5.0
Absolute Powerhouse
By Croat, 02-01-2023

I was already a fan of Traore's base card as a super sub because of his ability to power through defenses when chasing a comeback. Bought the card on release for about 200k and decided to immediately try him out. So far I am impressed.

I tried him with a Marksman and Architect but I'm mostly using him with a Finisher. With Lengthy being nerfed Architect isn't that great anymore. I would use it on the wing exclusively, but never as a central player. Finisher and Marksman are interchangeable, I'd say Finisher is slightly better at ST while Marksman is slightly better at CAM. Finisher gives him pretty much perfect shooting and buffs his agility and balance which is fantastic for a striker, while Marksman keeps shooting in the 90s but also gives him extra reactions, ball control and jumping+strength which are more suited for a CAM.

Pros:

The most obvious thing standing out are his pace and strength and they are both fantastic. But there are a lot of players who have high pace and strength, so why Adama? The answer is his unique body type. For some reason it makes him an absolute bully. His base pace and strength coupled with his body type having glitchy interactions such as rebounds when dribbling going back to him or getting body blocked but going over defenders anyway (it's as if he's literally oiled, like the IRL memes) makes him stand out above the rest. That coupled with a +7 upgrade which buffed all stats, especially his shooting and passing from garbage tier, is all he needed to become incredible.

He's a goal machine. 97 pace, 90 strength, body type, 98 finishing, mid 90s agility and balance, 99 dribbling, this guy has it all. Once he's through he's gone. 4* weak foot is also a huge deal compared to his 2* WF base version, he scores WF goals consistently. Surprisingly he wins a decent amount of headers too, and his stamina is much better than gold version. He has the game changer feeling as well with the ability to bully his way into the goal.

Cons:

Reactions are not the greatest, neither is composure. This is why some may choose Marksman to fix the former to an extent. As for composure while it is mediocre it often doesn't matter because of how fast he is and how you can shrug people off before shooting to not put you in a position where composure matters. Passing is alright, it's not as bad as I have expected from his gold version. Longshots are kind of bad, he didn't score any so far but he also didn't get into a position to shoot too many since he gets in behind so often, and I played him as a striker. Needs further testing on CAM.

Another con is his occasional heavy touches, notably ball control being in mid 80s. It takes time to get used to his first touch and dribbling in general, as he's like a freight train who isn't as agile while dribbling like a Messi would be. Don't get me wrong, it's not nearly as stiff as Haaland's, he's still a good dribbler. All I can recommend is to give him a proper chance, at least 10-20 games to learn his unique body type giving him that occasional "stiffness" at times and find ways around it. I highly recommend skill moves to compensate for that. One I recommend the most is ball roll into a sprint. It gives him a huge speed boost to get the initial acceleration out while controlling the ball. Another one is stepovers into a speed boost, same principle. All the other meta ones are good as well. That being said even when feeling jammy at times his glitchy body type, strength and pace makes him rebound and power through defenders even when taking a bad touch.

Summary

Overall I'd say it's well worth to get him, he's a fantastic player with amazing game changer feeling. Even if he's not on the level of Mbappe or Al-Owairan broken, and it can be hard to link him sometimes, there's no reason not to use him as a super sub (I wouldn't be surprised if pro player use him as a sub) in multi million coin teams. In a sea of juiced up players having insane stats all-round he still manages to bring something unique to the table which is his body type and strength, which enables him to be such an X factor high impact player in any team.

WINTER WILD CARDS ADAMA 86 PLAYER REVIEW | FIFA 23
By thulasidasan, 12-01-2023

I'm using Adama as a main striker in 4231 with get in behind & stay central Instruction.

This card looks monster.

He looks so good, every year this guy was monster. This card is a cheap al-owairan hero. even though sometimes I felt his dribbling was better than al-owairin in game.

Right footed Player with, 4*Weak Foot that's huge blow from two star weak foot. i sold my al-owairan last week toty panic. i felt really bad who gonna replace my club legend, this guy gives everything far. every game i playing with lot of fun even his aggression works out in slow gameplay sluggish gameplay. his running find empty space remember me al-owairan i dono what ea did on this card. lol i have a thought ea gives al-owairan stats to this card. dono how many days or weeks this card feels like monster, i gonna use him. 180k not a big deal even he crashed into 150k.

even his finesse shots are goes in without train because of his curve state.

Fun Card
By TheFutties, 31-01-2023

I've used him for around 30 games and this card is pure fun. He is fast, he is strong, but lacks in height and misses some clear chances sometimes, but I dunno why. It feels, that he was a absolute beast in some games and in other games, he was just mediocre. You can feel that he don't got much traits and is main power is his strength and his pace. If you want some fun, you should try him out, he was very solid at all but nothing special for that price. Give him 3-4 games, because it need some time to learn how to play him, but when you learned it, its a funny card.

  • very fast
  • very strong
  • nice for counter attacks
  • a fun card to use
  • shooting isn't that great
  • sometimes he miss easy goals
  • not much (good) traits
  • overpriced for what you get
