Han Zola (Gianfranco Zola)
By SoldMyHouseToBuyPoints, 27-02-2024

Picked up this toty icon Zola after he dropped under 780k for a brief period. Using him in a 4-4-2 next to 91 Shevy and it balanced out Shevchenko's lack of agility. His shooting is amazing, when it wants to be. He's scored some rocket bangers, but he's also had moments where he fired it right at the keepers hand in the box with a finesse shot that almost sent my controller through the TV. Stuff like that should not be happening with a 91 rated attacker of that price, especially when a 75k 91 Benzema can finish every single thing in the box. His deadball playstyle is very handy for corner kicks and free kicks, has the same feel as pirlo which is fantastic. His dribbling and agility is really good, but he will most certainly get knocked off the ball if you don't know how to dribble and skill. He's not a toty Messi or special card Jesus that can glide past defenders just by sprinting up the pitch, you need to skill with him or play a pass & dribble technique. I found with Zola that I had a hard time rushing the ball up the pitch with him for a counter; whereas Benzema or Shevchenko had many moments for me where I was able to sprint the ball right into the box and bang one into the corner. I think it has a lot to do with Zola being 5'6". He gets bodied around by just about everybody and unfortunately doesn't have that old school Messi pace feel to him but rather like his legs are only 4 inches long. So that being said, not a solo carry the ball up the pitch player, but if you know how to use him, you can meg the defence and bang a goal in from 35 yards out no problem. Players to compare him to would be 88 Di Natale and 91 Base Henry. Di Natale feels a lot faster than Zola in game and a 3rd of the cost, Henry feeling the fastest especially with the Rapid playstyle+. So if pace is what you're after I would probably look elsewhere. Overall I think he's a very decent striker and definitely worth 780k but I would not be paying over a million for him if he ever went back up. He's very usable but in the right formation with the right team. He needs a taller more stronger striker in something like a 4-4-2 to really make him shine, he didn't do very well when I had him in a 4-3-3 with Salah and Sanchez on the wings, not enough pace and non-existent strength. If you already got someone like Mbappe, Haaland, Lewandowski, etc I think he would fit very well in your squad next to people like them.

Great Dribbling

Great passing for a striker

Great shot power and accuracy from outside the box

Deadball Playstyle+ amazing for FK and Corners

Finesse+ playstyle works very well in high-pressed situations

Does not have explosive acceleration

Very short and weak against defenders

May miss some golden opportunities in the box

This card should be 300-400k minimum (Kalidou Koulibaly)
By SoldMyHouseToBuyPoints, 27-02-2024

I've included the URL of my current squad. I had 570k in the bank to spend on a new defender because my untradeable base Nesta is a mess (Messta), and my 93 Maldini is struggling to do everything on his own. Looked at Blanc, Petit, base VVD, and nothing seemed too appealing to me, I don't want a basic gold card in this squad either no matter how broken VVD is. Then the other day I stumbled across the Kouliaby card which I didn't even know existed. Saw he was only 65k and decided to pull the trigger. With a card like that I highly doubt it will ever go under 60k. I wondered how a 65k card is going to perform next to a 2.5 million defender. And it's safe to say that Kouliaby has become the star in my defence. Maldini is phenomenal and makes crazy blocks, but Kouliaby has this presence to him that really upped my defence up. I play my buddies for money and after Kouliaby joined my team the first thing one of my friends said was that he's a pain to get past. He's fairly tall, but his body type is beastly and he looks big on the field. His positioning is 9/10 times perfect, his standing tackles are phenomenal and simply put, he just stands there and the ball doesn't go past his feet. I've yet to score a header with him, I'm not very good at corners though, but with his header playstyle I can see it being handy. All in all I think he's being slept on at the moment because I don't see many people using him in division rivals. And considering how cheap he is, it's not much of a gamble if you ever decide to sell him. But he's 90 rated, which looks intimidating, nice fancy purple card, 85 pace that with a shadow card puts his pace into the high 90's, 90 defending and 90 physical. Medium High work rates which means he'll usually stay back on defence, he's been outstanding on my team thus far. Highly recommend picking this guy up if you're looking for a fast strong defender.

Great Pace & Feels Fast

Super Strong

Superb Standing Tackles

Header Playstyle+

Decent Passing for Defender

CHEAP

Lack of agility and balance can make him feel a bit clunky

Most likely will need a manager for chem

Marchisio Fantasy (Claudio Marchisio)
By ordanix, 25-02-2024

Marchisio is a pretty good card, I got him on the first day of the promo and I highly recommend using him as a defensive player, while he does work as a box to box player (thats what i did last year,) this year with the new playstyle system he is an insanely good cdm. Dont get fooled by the stats, if you are new to ultimate team you may not know this but Marchisio is always far better than his stats suggest, he outsprints a lot of players and feels like he has 95+ pace. His anticipate+ is amazing, he tackles with ease and runs around the whole pitch with his great stamina and relentless. He also has 4* 4* which is pretty decent. He is a very good player all around the pitch having gullit gang stats and he feels like he has 90+ in most stats. My final thoughts are if you want a cdm, hes amazing, if you want a box-box player, while he can do the job pretty good, I'd prefer someone like 92 zico who is pretty similar in price. Overall i'd say he is either a shadow or hunter depending on where you play him (i prefer shadow). GL packing him!

  • Great speed in-game.
  • Anticipate+ is insanely good.
  • 92 stamina and relentless.
  • 4* 4*
  • Good passing.
  • Will probably get +1 (juventus has easy matches)
  • Way better in-game than stats suggest.
  • Good passing playstyles.
  • Lean body type.

Very less cons so these may be a bit judgy and unnoticable to some.

  • Not worth it if Box-Box
  • No Box-Box playstyles to help
  • Dribbling is a bit inconsistent.
  • Block+ is pretty trash.
  • Flair is very very useless.

Hojlund <3 (Rasmus Højlund)
By DeVridge, 23-02-2024

Div 2/3 new gen PC. I cant really fault him for the price. I packed 94 Haaland during thunderstruck and just hung on to him because of the price but hurt my overall playstyle. Perhaps a little bias as a united fan but Hojlund has become my favorite card I've used other than TOTY Best and TOTGS Di Maria. DO NOT let the workrates deceive you. You dont need to put forward instructions on him as he is always ready to receive a pass, staying behind the defender and then make a run with L1 trigger. His attacking AI is really good and his through balls (or over) surprisingly feel like midfielder balls. I still have 900k in the bank but there isn't anyone on the market I feel like could replace him right now. Overall a 10/10 for the value and a 9/10 for the card in general.

Pace: 9/10 You can feel 100% feel the quick step and rapid on him but still doesn't feel like 98 pace on an engine

Shooting: 9/10 Has an invisible 5* week foot. Power shots are incredibly clutch. Finesses are a bit mid but play him as a left striker for the trivelas and power shots. His finishing, even on an engine feels crazy.

Passing: 8/10 Short and long is ok but over the top / through balls are deceivingly nice

Dribbling: 9/10 So refreshing after using TOTYHM Kane on a marksman / engine and TOGS Haaland on an engine. HIs technical makes him super jammy. His first touch plus feels a little fake though. Best tall striker dribbling iv'e used

Defending: 6/10 His aggression and workrates do help him win the ball back on certain tactics

Physical: 8/10 Really does feel like he has press proven but does occasionally get bodied easily

Composure: has missed some easy chances and you can tell from lesser composure and body type

The shooting machine (Dušan Vlahovic)
By fqghhhe34, 21-02-2024

Hunter chem in Div 3. Something noticeable:

  1. This guy has the most crazy sprint speed with H/L workrate. (and 99 with pure lengthy)
  2. First touch is good even though there is no playstyle.
  3. He has almost every shooting playstyle so 4WF is fine. From the each side he can score.
  4. Utilize right flick to overtake VVD.
  5. Engine is almost useless to boost his Dri.
  6. Do not try him if you don't like physical striker.

Long running, shooting, jumping, positioning.

Dribbling, acceleration.passing
