I packed Solskjær as an untradeable player and initially thought he would be fodder. However, after reading some positive comments about him here on Futbin, I decided to give him a shot... and I’m glad I did.
This guy can win you games. His poacher++ role is imposing. Solskjær makes insane runs between defenders and always seems to find himself in the right position, ready to strike with little to no pressure. After a few matches, I actively looked for him in every attack, eager to set him up for a finesse shot. That said, let's be honest—he's not a gamechanger.
He has a clunky feel and his pace is just average. You’ll often find that he gets caught by ANY decent CB on counter-attacks. If you’re looking to move up the pitch with him, you might want to consider other options. His dribbling is also subpar, and his agility is a significant concern. I initially paired him with a Hunter chemistry style to boost his pace, but I realized that his agility and balance were the bigger issues affecting my gameplay.
Despite these drawbacks, he scores goals. If you can create open shooting opportunities for him, the goals will flow. At this stage of the game, that’s more than enough for me. I’ve found that 9 out of 10 finesse shots go in, and it’s remarkable how he can dominate a match if you play to his strengths.
In conclusion, while he may not be the most versatile striker, Solskjær can be a valuable asset in the right situations. If you can adjust your playstyle to accommodate him, he can make an impact on your team if you know what you're paying for.
Finesse Shots:
His finesse shots are incredibly effective. If you're near the box and can get him open expect to score with ease.
Poacher++ Runs:
The role is OP. He consistently makes intelligent runs and is always in the right position for one-touch shots.
Composure:
He rarely misses open opportunities, even if he has had a poor touch beforehand.
Weak Foot:
His weak foot feels like a 5-star in-game. There’s virtually no noticeable difference when taking left-footed shots.
Headers:
He’s ineffective in aerial duels and struggles to win headers.
Physicality:
Easily bullied by any center-back, making it hard for him to hold up play.
Pace:
His pace is subpar, and he finds it difficult to break away from defenders.
Dribbling:
He feels clunky on the ball and won’t be able to navigate tight spaces effectively.
Stamina:
Tends to tire out in the second half, especially if you play an active pressing style. However, this is somewhat acceptable for the early stages of the game.
