I really wanted to like him because I thought it would be epic to pair him with Maldini in the back. But he's just average. Yes, his defending is top notch and he'll intercept and bother the shit out of players but honestly: His pace is not as great as it should be for a small player. His acceleration with shadow is fantastic, of course, but if he's out of position or you make a minor mistake, he won't be able to catch-up with the faster strikers. That's a huge blow. If sprint speed was maybe 85+, he'd be fine, but 80 is a bit low for a player like him.

Gavi: + dribbling + weak foot (good for shooting and passing) + good if you want to spend fodder. TAA: + defending + good if you want to use coins rather than fodder. Both are amazing passers but awful at shooting. I prefer Gavi because of his nice dribbling but if defense is more important to you, you might like TAA more. Maybe just try TAA first because you can't try Gabi. TAA is not that expensive and maybe his price will rice after TOTY (no idea though)

Any advice on play style as b2b? I'm using engine and I still think his dribbling (he reacts very slowly) and acceleration is rather poor. I'm also struggling with long shots although his base stats should be good enough for some great shooting.

He is clearly better than Cancelo. The only thing Cancelo is better at is his close ball control which helps for dribbling in tight spaces , for example when switching him to midfield. But yes, Laudrup is definitely better.

I really liked him at the start but now I'm just annoyed. His passing is top notch and his Defense is solid -- but not great. His dribbling is mediocre at best but the worst parts about him is his first step / reaction. It takes AGES for him to start running.

I use both and both are nice. They are extremely similar so it depends on what you want. TAA is slightly better at all high passes, crosses etc. but Gavi is better at all ground passes, especially due to his 5 * weak foot. But they're both brilliant passers. Neither can shoot but in the box Gavi's weak foot helps him score some goals. Gavi is also a much better dribbler. But TAA is better defensively due to the play styles. Hope this helps. Personally I prefer Gavi due to his weak foot and better dribbling but if you value defense more, TAA is for you. Also, it depends on whether you want to spend fodder for an SBC or coins.

Honest review: Good but not great. Strengths: Passing is amazing: long balls, through balls, crossing, regular passes etc. all amazing. Defending: you can definitely feel his two play styles. But with high offensive work rates he's not great as a holding CDM. Still a good defender. Weaknesses: Shooting. He can't shoot for shit. Medium: his dribbling is better than it looks. His pace is fine for midfield but of course too slow for right back. Who does he compare to? Gavi ice. I have them both because both are untradable. The pairing is good enough but not special defensively. Their passing allows me to pick apart defenses but it's super annoying that neither can shoot.
