Thursday night saw the addition of two more Evolutions in Ultimate Team as part of the Trailblazers promo. We were treated to Trailblazer Interceptor and Trailblazer Slide Tackle, both which grant players a PlayStyle+ in their final form. Unfortunately one of these does come at a cost, and a hefty one at that. The Evolution we’re looking at today is Trailblazer Interceptor which will set you back either 75,000 coins or 1,500 FC Points (£13.49). Despite the cost we do see some very nice cards that can be evolved, let’s get into them.
Nicolas Dominguez - Nottingham Forest
Nicolas Dominguez was one of the first options that stood out to me for this Evo and for good reason. His 77 rated base gold increases to a really solid and well rounded 85 rated Evo. As with all of these Evolutions, the PlayStyle+ of Intercept is added to the card once completed which really makes them unique and gives them the edge over other base cards.
Conor Gallagher - Chelsea
Gallagher midfielder may not have the best stats but has been the most popular on site since the Evo’s have dropped so we had to include him. Would I pay 75,000 Coins for this, probably not but if you’re a Chelsea or Crystal Palace fan it’s cool for a Past and Present team.
Hidemasa Morita - Sporting CP
Japan have a really nice stack of players this year especially with the addition of Evolutions and Hidemasa Morita only adds more quality to this list. We already know Liga Portugal Squad Foundations are coming so Morita is a very good option to evolve as they’ll be no issues fitting him into the team alongside other quality players.
Mario Lemina - Wolverhampton Wanderers
I think Mario Lemina might be my favourite player from this evolution. Not only does he offer links to the Season Pass Cunha, but he’s got a really, really good card. His interceptions increased massively to 93 with his other defending stats in the mid 80s. Definitely one of the most well rounded cards to choose, and would certainly be tempting me if I hadn’t already submitted my choice!
Rade Krunic - AC Milan
One of the biggest advantages of using Krunic in this Evo is his alternate positions. The Bosnian can play in all central midfield positions from DM to AM which just gives that extra option to use in potential future Evolutions. Not only are his alternate positions important, but his stats are also very impressive. 89 Reactions, 86 Short Passing and 88 Ball Control are just a few of the standouts.
Amadou Onana - Everton
Everton may be stinking up the Premier League but that doesn’t mean we can’t get fun cards in Ultimate Team. Amadou Onana is one of these options, the Belgian midfielder only lacks in the shooting department but really makes up for it with his physical and defensive attributes. Mid 80s for both tackling stats and 87 Strength pull together to create a really strong DM.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde - Wolverhampton Wanderers
Our second entry from the biggest club in the Midlands is Jean-Ricner Bellgarde. The former Strausbourg man not only offers Premier League links but also French. For the start of the game his regular base card was a very solid option and now through this Evolution, becomes even better. The two main attractions to this card especially are the Agility (95) and Balance (98).
Hicham Boudaoui - OGC Nice
Hicham Boudaoui or Ruud Gullit. Whack a deadeye on this card and you’re getting 5 of the 6 stats in the mid 80s. As mentioned with Krunic, Boudaoui also possess a RM alternate position which could come in handy for future Evo’s. A very solid boost with some really nice in game stats.
Dejan Ljubicic - FC Koln
If we’re talking Alternate Positions then Dejan Ljubicic is your man and is definitely in the Top 3 picks. We’ve already seen winger Evo’s which the Austrian may fit into in the future with a RW alternate position. He is also a very, very well rounded card with an insane 91 Sprint Speed, his pace split it a little off but the Sprint Speed is nice, just takes a while to get there!
Nicolo Rovella - Lazio
The final man on the list is Lazio midfielder, Nicolo Rovella. 82 Pace, 84 Dribbling and 84 Defending are the standout stats alongside some nice physical in games. Nicolo is also a great option for chemistry, you won’t have any issue fitting an Italian Serie A card into the team.
Are any of these options actually worth the 75,000 Coins, or more importantly the 1,500 FC Points? Absolutely not. But if you choose fun cards from the team you support they may be worth it. Evolutions are clearly aimed more towards the casual player so don’t be too annoyed that these guys don’t fit into your Rank 1 Champs teams!
As always with Evolutions, there isn’t a right or wrong choice just pick who you like. The only thing you should be doing before completing is checking out or Evolutions Hub to make sure you’ve made the best choice!
