It’s a perfect week for those with Bundesliga aspects to their side with both Frimpong and Goretzka looking nailed on for the side but outside of the Bundesliga options are few and far between with another 89 Greizmann, Politano and a featured Murphy standing out.
Stole Dimitrievski - GK - 79 > 82 OVR
Six saves, Penalty save & clean sheet / Las Palmas 0 - Vallecano 1 / 8.9 Whoscored Rating
Every week so far we have seen a keeper stand out over the others making the keeper prediction easy. Dimitrievski holds that feat this time around making several saves alongside a penalty to keep his clean sheet and in turn, ensure Vallecano took home all three points.
Carlos Soler - RB - 79 > 82 OVR
Goal, assist and clean sheet / PSG 3 - Strasbourg 0 / 7 L’equipe Rating
Not a position you would expect to see Soler play in let alone excel. The Spaniard played Hakimi’s role this weekend and made it look easy. With a goal, an assist and a clean sheet to his name we could be seeing an unorthodox version on Wednesday.
Carvajal - RB - 82 > 84 OVR
Goal and goalline clearance / Sevilla 1 - Real Madrid 1 / 8.2 Whoscored Rating
Although Real Madrid failed to win their match against Sevilla Carvajal still stood out at both ends of the pitch. The Spaniard performed two actions, one at either end of the pitch to ensure Madrid came away with at least something.
Jeremie Frimpong - RWB - 83 > 85 OVR
Goal and assist / Wolfsburg 1 - Leverkusen 2 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
This card is going to be among the most in-demand RB’s in the game. Frimpong’s base card is insanely good and he now looks set to receive an upgrade. The Dutchman was involved in both their goals to keep Leverkusen at the top of the table.
Jacob Murphy - LW - 76 > 84 OVR
One goal, two assists / Newcastle 4 - Palace 0 / 9 Sky Rating
Newcastle continued their unbeaten streak with a convincing 4-0 win. Several players were involved but Murphy stood out after being involved in three of the four goals he went on to receive a 9/10
Leon Goretzka - CM - 85 > 86 OVR
One goal, one assist / Mainz 1 - Bayern 3 / 2 Kicker Rating
The Bundesliga is an underappreciated division this year on EAFC. Goretzka is still likely a player that will attract some attention though with the German’s special items often being in demand. After being involved twice for Munich this weekend his first looks to be on the way.
Manuel Locatelli - CM - 82 > 84 OVR
Goal / AC Milan 0 - Juventus 1 / 7 Gazzetta Rating
Juventus look to be back as contenders in Serie A after a couple of seasons of disappointment. They recorded a 1-0 away win over league leaders AC Milan with Locatelli scoring the only goal of the game. With it being a big match I can see that being enough for the Italian’s inclusion.
Matteo Politano - RW - 81 > 84 OVR
One goal, two assists / Verona 1 - Napoli 3 / 8 Gazzetta Rating
Those who have happily spent their coins on evolution players may want to look away now. Politano was a popular option for Pacey winger but now looks very likely to feature in TOTW 6. The Italian was involved in three goals and went on to receive MOTM during Napoli’s 3-1 away win.
Lois Openda - ST - 82 > 84 OVR
Two goals / Darmstadt 1 - Leipzig 3 / 2 Kicker Rating
A cheaper way into Openda looks to be on the way after the Belgian scored twice to help guide Leipzig to a 3-1 away win. The IF option should be much cheaper than the 293k the RTTK card will cost you.
Nikitia Parris - ST - 81 > 84 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Everton (W) 0 - Man United (W) 5 / 10 Sofascore Rating
We have a couple of Women’s Super League players selected this week which could be pushing it but both deserve their spot. Parris was crucial for United as they stormed to a 5-0 away win.
Antoine Griezmann - ST - 88 > 89 OVR
Hat trick / Celta Vigo 0 - Atletico Madrid 3 / 9.3 Sofascore Rating
This year, We have seen that EA are happy to release promo and TOTW cards in close succession. With that, in mind, I find it difficult to see them disregarding Griezmann’s hat trick despite featuring only last week in Trailblazers.
Substitutes
Griffin Dorsey - RB - 61 > 80 OVR
Two goals / Portland 1 - Houston 3 / 9 Whoscored Rating
We have yet to see a bronze to a gold during the new TOTW system but with the MLS being a division EA enjoy promoting this is the first real chance we will see. Dorsey managed a brace from RB as Houston recorded a 3-1 away win.
Douglas Luiz - CM - 79 > 82 OVR
Two goals / Aston Villa 4 - West Ham 1 / 8 Sky Rating
Luiz ended up with some very usable cards last year. This one has a different hype, however. The Brazilian walks into the side after scoring twice in another dominant Villa performance.
Florian Kainz - LM - 78 > 82 OVR
Two goals / Koln 3 - Gladbach 1 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
Although both Kainz’s goals came from the penalty spot with Kicker awarding him the joint highest rating of the week it's hard to ignore the Austrian. The Bundesliga offered the most options this week though so someone is likely to miss out.
Amahl Pellegrino - LW - 75 > 81 OVR
Four assists / Bodo 4 - Sandefjord 0 / 8.7 Sofascore Rating
Pellegrino got snubbed for four goals this season which would have put me off predicting him again if it wasn’t for Haugsen the following week. That shows he can receive an IF so I can only imagine he was accidentally missed before. Four assists make him among the best TOTW options once again.
Martha Thomas - ST - 76 > 81 OVR
Hat trick / Aston Villa (W) 2 - Tottenham (W) 4 / 9.4 Sofascore Rating
We saw Tello snubbed a couple of weeks ago for presumably his season pass inclusion so there is a chance history repeats itself but it’s a risk I am willing to take. Thomas scored three times to help Tottenham claim all three points.
Mame Thiam - ST - 72 > 80 OVR
Hat trick / Kayserispor 3 - Rizespor 1 / 9.4 Whoscored Rating
A second player making the list after two penalty goals, although Thiam also added a third which should push the decision over the edge. The Turkish league is one EA seem to prefer this year so Thiam makes it over a couple of other random lower-league performances.
Vangelis Pavlidis - ST - 78 > 82 OVR
Hat trick / AZ 3 - Heerenveen 0 / 8.5 VI Rating
Pavlidis has been phenomenal for AZ so far this season with his latest three goals taking him up to 13 for the season while only nine games deep. VI awarded him a very respectable 8.5 making him an easy choice for this side.
