FC 24 86 Hero Ramires Player Review

Crazy turn of events this weekend… Call it luck, call it duplicate theory, call it whatever you want to call it, but after completing this Ramires review in Weekend League and opening rewards… I quickly turned around and completed the 87 Max Hero Pack, only to pack a duplicate of the Brazilian, adding a massive to the untradeable selection of my squad.

Having just looked at Centurion Geyoro and with ample Bellingham and De Jong experience it did seem like a good time to give Ramires a go and see what all of the hype has been about.  The Brazilian statistics also looked like a fantastic addition to any midfield, not to mention one heading into the battle of Weekend League.

Ramires really looked like the perfect addition for the 4-3-2-1 with his fantastic mix of Pace, Defending and Physicality… The ANCHOR Chemistry Style taking all of those categories up an extra notch for maximum presence in the midfield.

Ramires was the flashback to FIFA’s past, blistering through the midfield in the following squad:

Overall

Rating: 9/10

Ramires has a thousand ways to hurt you in a match and I think was in large part why I enjoyed this review so much.  Whether he is tracking down the most lethal position on the pitch, flying into tackles, spraying passes or even chipping in with the odd goal… Ramires is simply a weapon to unleash on your opponents across the midfield.

Main Statistics – Defensive Midfield

Pace Rating: 9/10

Physical Rating: 10/10

Defending Rating: 10/10

PlayStyles: Relentless, Press Proven, Intercept, Slide Tackle

Honestly, this was like Geyoro 2.0 for this review, but that makes sense given there were a ton of similarities in the defensive responsibilities presented to each card.  Ramires is similar in that 91 ACCELERATION & 93 SPRINT SPEED turn Ramires into a close down machine that simply tractor beams opponents into tackles.

From there the INTERCEPT and SLIDE TACKLE PlayStyles add to the now boosted 93 STANDING TACKLE, 91 INTERCEPTIONS & 91 SLIDING TACKLE.  If anything it was the consistency and reliability of Ramires’ positioning and success rate in tackles that helped propel the squad to victories throughout the weekend.

Again in line with Geyoro the RELENTLESS PlayStyle and 92 STAMINA simply cannot be overlooked and provide a constant drive coming out of the midfield.  However, the difference was notable in the sheer size and power of Ramires whose 179cm | 5’10 frame & 86 STRENGTH was notably more effective in both tackling and protecting the ball.

Value/Coins

Value/Coins: 4/5

Maybe I am simply expecting too much from high value cards in EAFC this year, but I cannot see a universe where this card is 1 million coins.  Even with the Hero links and genuine ridiculous set of statistics, I find that a high price to pay for a card so limited in position options and without a PlayStyle Plus.

Good vs. Bad

Good vs Bad Rating: 5/5

Ramires certainly made his mark on my squad out of possession and winning it back, but the overall use of the ball was impressive as well.

+ I really love the PRESS PROVEN PlayStyle… and while 99% of that is in my head and just being more calm in decision making, it still helped massively having Ramires on the ball against my opponents press.  The 79 AGILITY, 82 BALANCE & 80 DRIBBLING are not game breakers by any stretch, but they got me out of tight areas and relieved pressure when passing lanes became closed down.

+ Yet when those passes were available it was nice to once again have a card that could exploit those spaces.  The 79 VISION, 84 SHORT PASSING & 81 LONG PASSING proved to be a lot like the dribbling...  Nothing flashy or even fantastic, just delivering enough to consistently get the job done.

Wouldn’t call Ramires an offensive juggernaut by any stretch but he did contribute a couple goals during the review and since packing him untradeable… My only wish would be that he could contribute more.

- The 75 FINISHING & 3 STAR WEAK FOOT all but some up the result of what you are getting from this card and generally just not an offensive threat, period.

Closing Words

Genuinely happy to have packed Ramires in the Hero SBC and my untradeable “day to day” squad just got exponentially better.  Even with that notable improvement to my squad and quality performance this weekend, there is still simply no way that I can 100% recommend this card at this price tag, it is ludicrous.  Yes, Ramires is an insane defender and can contribute some offensively… but the 3 STAR WEAK FOOT and lack of a PlayStyle Plus do not scream “high end card” nearly as loud as the price tag does.

Hoping you are well.  Cheers for reading
