Black Friday is the gift that just keeps on giving. Another flash SBC has dropped and this time it’s a “Gucci” one… That’s right, a flashback Saint-Maximan SBC is here for a very limited amount of time.
Flashback Items are always a little bit exciting at this time of year because previously we’ve had the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Benzema and a few others that come in at a good price that are “fun” cards to use. But is the ASM one of them?
You can check out the card here!
A very nice-looking card that just juices up those Saudi League teams even more. This Flashback item sees an overall upgrade of +5 which is a great upgrade.
The “Gucci Man” joins the attack force of Thunderstruck Henry and Mo Salah. Quite the attack to come up against as they all have a very unique set of skills that will make weekend league a nightmare for any opponent. Of course, with ASM being French he very easily gets some links within the squad meaning you don’t have to rely on the Saudi League if you don’t have many of the special items from that league.
The choice in Chemstyle for me was the Deadeye chemstyle to give that extra boost to his Shooting and Passing as I felt those were the key stats that we probably want to be focusing on outside of Pace and Dribbling. For me, this helped finish the card off nicely.
Here are the following segments to unlock the Flashback Allan Saint-Maximin SBC:
#1 - France
# of players from France: Min 1
Squad Rating - 83
Pack Return - Gold Pack
Squad Rating - 84
Pack Return - Small Prime Electrum Players Pack
Currently, this SBC is sitting at roughly 50k to complete. As much as I want to say hold off on this one as I did with the Thunderstruck De Jong SBC.. Being a flash SBC, we don’t quite have that luxury. For me, this is a huge boost and I do believe this would likely be a fairly expensive card on the market so sitting at only 50k makes this very interesting as I am very surprised that EA didn’t make this a little bit more expensive.
How did he perform in-game?
+ Pace of course was as you would expect. He’s quick and moves down the wing with ease.
+ Dribbling also is incredible on this card, mixed with that pace and skill moves (Which also helped with the trickster playstyle) meant that he just felt silky smooth on the ball and ran laps around defenders.
+ Positioning was also decent on this card, he really pressed up the wing and pulled back when the situation demanded it.
/ Shooting wasn’t amazing, hence why he needs that boosting the most via chemstyle, but I also wouldn’t say it was terrible. He hit the mark but just wasn’t consistent.
/ Likewise with the shooting his Passing wasn’t awful as he setup some crucial goals but it was also fairly inconsistent
- Strength is the downfall for me however, whilst it isn’t a low stat for him, he did get knocked off the ball fairly often.
Allan Saint-Maximan - Cop or Flop?
So as I mentioned earlier, this isn’t an SBC you can sit and stew on for a while, but I feel you don’t really have to. 50k isn’t a huge amount to gamble away. Especially on a card that looks fairly decent and is incredibly easy to link into squads. One thing I didn’t mention is that at times I felt like he would be quite a decent striker option if you are maybe looking for a winger that could swap out into that role.
This was a fun card and certainly think it is one people will regret not picking up. Not because he is hugely META but because it’s a fun card that’s different from your usual wingers. He comes in more expensive than the likes of Son so I suppose it depends on whether or not you are looking for a fun card or a META card, as I feel that ASM is a nice middle ground.
