After a couple of mediocre weeks for TOTW we have a respectable side. With Varane and Kim in defence, Modric in the middle and Osimhen up top there are players to bolster your sides all over the pitch.
Anthony Lopes - GK - 82 > 85 OVR
Four saves and clean sheet / Monaco 0 - Lyon 1 / 8 L’equipe Rating
Another week, another Ligue 1 keeper. L’equipe once again awarded the high match rating of 8/10 to their keeper of the week in Lopes. The Portuguese stopper made a few vital saves to ensure Lyon left with all three points.
Min Jae Kim - CB - 84 > 86 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Munich 3 - Stuttgart 0 / 1 Kicker Rating
If Min Jae Kim’s NIF is any indication to go from this IF is going to be exceptional. The Korean defender scored the final of Munich’s trio of goals alongside helping keep the prolific duo of Guirassy and Undav quiet throughout. Kicker awarded the defender with a perfect 1-match rating making him a lock for this side.
Raphael Varane - CB - 85 > 86 OVR
Clean sheet and MOTM / Liverpool 0 - Manchester United 0 / 8 Sky Rating
After being outplayed in recent times during this fixture United took a different approach this time around. It was not one for the neutrals however away from home United will be very happy with the point. Varane was named MOTM for his part in the display and with this fixture often resulting in an IF his chances are high.
Aitor Ruibal Garcia - RB - 76 > 86 OVR
Clean sheet / Real Sociedad 0 - Real Betis 0 / 8.2 Whoscored Rating
With La Liga providing eight draws or 1-0 scorelines it made the division extremely difficult to predict from. They will inevitably receive a couple though and so I have taken the punt on Ruibal. The Spaniard was named MOTM and with a featured upgrade would become a usable option.
Allan Saint-Maximin - LM - 81 > 85 OVR
Three assists / Al-Fayha 0 - Al-Ahli 4 / 8.5 Sofascore Rating
Those who missed out on the flashback ASM during the Black Friday promotion will be relieved to see another option for the tricky Frenchman is likely on Wednesday. With three assists from the left flank during a comfortable away win Saint-Maximin becomes a strong candidate for TOTW 14.
Roberto Pereyra - CM - 78 > 86 OVR
Goal and assist / Udinese 2 - Sassuolo 2 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
Pereyra has received some insane cards in previous games but the Argentine has sat at a rather mediocre gold card in recent times. A featured upgrade on Wednesday will bring a bit of nostalgia and with a goal and assist is a strong possibility.
Luka Modric - CM - 87 > 88 OVR
Goal and assist / Real Madrid 4 - Villarreal 1 / 9.1 Whoscored Rating
With Barcelona continuously slipping up recently Real Madrid are now strong title favourites despite the push from Girona. A convincing 4-1 win over Villarreal came this week with Modric leading the way with both a goal and an assist.
Lucas Paqueta - LM - 81 > 85 OVR
Three assists / West Ham 3 - Wolves 0 / 9 Sky Rating
An early brace from Kudus put the Ghanian in the front line for an IF but Paqueta had other ideas. After already providing the assist on both Kudus goals the Brazilian made it a trio setting up Bowen for the third and killing the game off in the process.
Florian Wirtz - CAM - 85 > 86 OVR
One goal, one assist / Leverkusen 3 - Frankfurt 0 / 1 Kicker Rating
I ignored Aubameyang last week due to proximity with a special card and I won’t be making the same mistake again. Wirtz and Boniface both received a perfect 1 from Kicker this week for their performances in Leverkusen’s 3-0 home win. Boniface is currently in packs though making the decision to go with Wirtz an easy one.
Victor Osimhen - ST - 88 > 89 OVR
Goal and assist / Napoli 2 - Cagliari 1 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
Big names were few and far between for the third consecutive week. This is largely down to the recent struggles of sides like Man City and Barcelona and it impacts these sides. Osimhen only provided a goal and assist but in a week like this, it could see him sneak in.
Khadija Shaw - ST - 85 > 87 OVR
Hat trick / Everton (W) 1 - Man City (W) 4 / 8.8 Sofascore Rating
Just a three-week gap separates Shaw’s first IF and this potential second. It's a gap which historically has been enough, especially towards mid-to-end game where EA are much more lenient on IF gaps. The Jamaican continued her good form with another three goals on Sunday.
Michael Keane - CB - 77 > 83 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Burnley 0 - Everton 2 / 8 Sky Rating
Everton could have easily given up after their points deduction this season but instead, it has worked as a motivator. Everton already look safe despite their situation and a 2-0 win over Burnley makes it four wins on the bounce! Keane scored the second and went on to be named MOTM.
Finn Azaz - CM - 69 > 83 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Plymouth 3 - Rotherham 2 / 10 Sofascore Rating
With six IF’s already EA have shown favouritism towards the Championship on numerous occasions this year. With Azaz contributing three times from CM this weekend I would expect that figure to increase again, doubling Plymouth’s IF total also.
Ismael Saibari - CM - 70 > 83 OVR
One goal, one assist / AZ 0 - PSV 4 / 8.5 VI Rating
PSV made it 16 matches played and 16 wins as they continue to storm the Eredivisie this season. Many will likely go for De Jong’s two goals and one assist but it was Saibari who received both MOTM and Eredivisie POTW with a huge 8.5. A rating which rarely gets ignored.
Emil Forsberg - CAM - 80 > 84 OVR
One goal / Leipzig 3 - Hoffenheim 1 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
Forsberg came off the bench midway through the second half with the scores tied at 1-1. The Swede made an instant impact, scoring just four minutes later before Leipzig then scored again to secure a 3-1 win. Forsberg’s performance was noticed by Kicker who awarded him an impressive 1.5 match rating.
Tijjani Reijnders - CM - 78 > 83 OVR
One goal / AC Milan 3 - Monza 0 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
Another central midfield punt from Serie A now with a singular goal potentially being enough for Reijnders to make the side. The Dutchman scored the opener early on and commanded the midfield throughout as Milan secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Monza.
Emmanuel Sabbi - LW - 67 > 83 OVR
Two goals / Le Havre 3 - Nice 1 / 8 L’equipe Rating
An impressive performance from Le Havre saw them shock second-placed Nice with a 3-1 win. Sabbi caused havoc down the wing scoring twice to receive one of only two 8’s from L’equipe this week.
Rafael Mujica Garcia - ST - 70 > 83 OVR
Hat trick / Arouca 3 - Gil Vicente 0 / 9.7 Sofascore Rating
The Portuguese division picked up two IF’s last week and their streak looks set to continue into TOTW 14. That is after Mujica scored all three of Arouca’s goals to help secure a comfortable 3-0 home win.
