FC 24 86 Winter Wildcards Poldolski Player Review - Cop or Flop?

There are a few player choice reward options in ‘Season 3: Frostbite’ and some of these choices are not that straight forward however the one at Level 8 seems as easy choice to me, a player with 99 Shooting guaranteed OR a 80+ x10 pack, although I am a pack fiend I can’t say no to that Podolski…

I put this Podolski in the lone Striker role of my team expecting him to just show off that 99 showing stat on repeat by finishing the chances supplied to him by the other attackers but that isn’t quite how it played out…

It actually ended up with Podolski being the one getting an impressive amount of assists.

There is not SBC pricing to discuss here since it’s an objective card but I can’t help think had it been an SBC it wouldn’t of been a costly one, anyway…

How did he perform in-game?

+ The Shooting, I’m sure it will come as a shock to most that a player with 99 shooting is quite good at scoring goals, but in all seriousness, the guy is an animal in front of goal, has incredible power shots, and his trivelas are also deadly.

+ 5 Star Weak Foot, this had to have it’s own section, his ability to both pass and shoot to a high level off either foot is a huge boost.

+ Passing, this was the most impressive part of the item for me, I expected the shooting to be good, I didn’t have as high hopes for his passing, his ability to lay off a pass for his team mates was great, and no matter if it was over a long or short distance he was finding passes with ease.

+ Strength/Aggression, 90 ratings for both of these attributes mean he’s quite a beast, strong when defending possession and aggressive when trying to win it back, loved that.

- Pace Split, now his general pace is okay, but there is a huge difference in stats between his acceleration (68, YES just 68...) and sprint speed (86) so as you can imagine it does take him a few yards to get to his max speed, and by that time defenders have chance to catch up.

Wildcards Podolski – Cop or Flop?

Instant cop for me, It’s rare to have fun enjoying using an item, but that’s exactly what happened with this Podolski, he’s fun to use and if he had that extra bit of pace he’d be incredible, that been said...imagine if an evolution came with a big pace boost that he fit in, now that would be something 👀
