FC 24 Womens Team of the Year Predictions!

There is no confirmation of whether EA will opt for two separate sides for TOTY but I would expect a female inclusion of some sort. Barcelona dominate the prediction after their treble and Spain’s World Cup triumph while Earps goes between the sticks and Diani’s pace terrorises the wing.

Mary Earps - GK - 86 > 94 OVR

This side will be largely based upon the Female World Cup which took place in 2023. Earps received the golden glove from the competition after playing a big role during England's run which saw them narrowly lose 1-0 in the final to Spain. Earps has been in the mainstream media a lot recently which will only increase her chances of selection.

Millie Bright - CB - 85 > 93 OVR

Chelsea went on to lift the Women's Super League title while finishing runners-up in the Cup. A pretty successful year for the defender who also missed out narrowly on the World Cup. Chelsea and England were both brilliant defensively over the course of the year with Bright being at the core for both sides.

Mapi Leon - CB - 89 > 95 OVR

The first of many Barcelona players to make this side comes with Mapi Leon. With Barcelona women dominating their division and lifting the Champions League it’s no real surprise that they heavily feature here. What's impressive is the defensive record Barcelona maintain. Only conceding ten times in the 2022/23 season while so far during the 2023/24 campaign a mere twice from twelve matches. Leon was featured in last year's FIFPRO World Eleven and after her accomplishments for this calendar year should easily make it back-to-back inclusions.

Wendie Renard - CB - 88 > 95 OVR

When it comes to French football on the Women's side of the game Lyon dominates. winning the double with ease. Conceding just nine goals during the 2022/23 season the Lyon defence deserves all the plaudits they receive. Renard has featured in every FIFPRO World 11 side since its introduction in 2020. Now at 33 years of age, that record will only last so much longer but as for now, I think she continues the 100% record.

Fridolina Rolfo - LB - 87 > 94 OVR

Rolfo is a familiar name and also had an impressive World Cup. I would be surprised if she didn’t end up making the side. Rolfo has played various positions over the course of the year but with EA confirming her shortlisted role as a defender the LB spot seems nailed on. The Swede has found herself on the sidelines recently due to injury but her contribution to both Barcelona and Sweden during 2023 should still be enough for her.

Patricia Guijarro Gutierrez - CM - 88 > 95 OVR

This position is seemingly between both Patricia Guijarro and Putellas, with the former having the better performance year and the latter having the better history, a former two-time Ballon d’Or feminin winner. Both would be meta cards but that Ballon d’Or ranking in 2023 (8th) for Patricia tipped the scales for me. With Putellas not even in the top 30 the expert side of the vote would be unlikely to contain Putellas.

Lena Oberdorf - CM - 87 > 95 OVR

These sorts of sides see a lot of familiar faces within the selection process due to the reputation of certain players. Although Wolfsburg failed to lift their league title they did go on to lift the cup while also narrowly losing out to Barcelona in the final of the Champions League. Oberdorf plays a pivotal role for them in the middle of the park, controlling games. Seeing as the German has featured in the previous two sides I don’t see her missing out this time around.

Aitana Bonmati - CM - 90 > 97 OVR

What a year it was for Bonmati. The decorated Spaniard won the league and Champions League with Barcelona before then going on to win the World Cup with Spain. This saw Bonmati lift the Ballon d’Or Feminin becoming only the fourth player to receive the award. The Barcelona midfielder is a joy to watch with her superb technical ability.

Salma Celeste Paralluelo - LW - 78 > 94 OVR

Salma Paralluelo has made a huge impact on the Women's game this year. At only 20 years of age, she managed to win it all. Doing the double with Barcelona and also lifting the World Cup with Spain. Her speed down the wing caused constant issues for sides and it made people talk with the Spaniard coming third in the Ballon d’Or Feminin scoring.

Sam Kerr- ST - 90 > 96 OVR

One of the most recognisable names in Women’s football over the past few years goes the way of Sam Kerr. The Australian is still chasing that elusive Ballon d’Or Feminin having narrowly missed out on numerous occasions now. She came second in the rankings this year after guiding Chelsea to a league title while also helping Australia to a fourth-placed finish at the World Cup.

Kadidiatou Diani - RW - 89 > 96 OVR

Diani statistically dominated so although France and Lyon both got eliminated in the quarter-finals of the World Cup and Champions League retrospectively her goal and assist tally should carry her over the line for this side. With 17 goals and 7 assists during the 2022/23 season for Lyon. Diani then went on to excel at the World Cup, scoring four and assisting three. She performed at the biggest stage thus I expect her inclusion.

Caroline Graham Hansen - RW - 90 > 96 OVR

Following the trend of the classical TOTY promo a 12th addition would be likely should EA opt for two sides. Hansen I don’t feel would make the main side due to lack of overall minutes and not playing a big role at the World Cup. I do however think she makes the shortlist and that's where the community take over. Hansen is a fan favourite and should easily win a fan vote as a result.
