FC 24 Player Moments Alex Morgan Player Review - Cop or Flop

Another day into the Team of the Year promotion and today brings the release of the TOTY Midfielders! What an insane bunch of cards these look, I cannot wait to get my hands on their loans and rat it out in weekend league…

But of course we look to the SBC section today to see an attacker? Odd choice in release timing but we’ll roll with it! Alex Morgan has been given a Player Moments Item for her outstanding season in 2019/2020.

I may start to sound a little bit like a broken record on this one but again if only this card had been given a secondary playstyle+. It’s night and day now between cards that do and don’t have it and so far there seems to be a lack of the SBC cards getting it with the exception of course with George Best.

My initial thoughts on this card was that how much better can it be on the Winter Wildcard version? As the only difference here is the +2 upgrade on her rating with a very nice +4 on pace, alongside the addition of the Tiki Taka & Powershot playstyles. The 300k difference may be tough to justify.

Of course using this Morgan item I just had to take the opportunity to use my Loan TOTY Smith that i’m sure most of us have at this point. Between those two and Mbappe, attacking felt so easy. These three absolutely tore things up on the pitch and scored goal after goal.

The chemstyle of choice here is really clear, you have to go with the engine to fix that low balance. Anything else will be redundant when she’s fumbling the ball under a little bit of pressure.

Not the most expensive of SBCs in comparison to the last few we have been getting and is absolutely grindable with 30 days to go on this one. The only concern as I have mentioned is the similarity between this and the winter wildcard version.

How did she perform in-game?

+ Shooting. I cannot praise this enough. Having the Finesse+ as well as also having Trievla and Powershot.. She just cannot seem to miss her shots. Her feet are broken… in a good way of course.

+ Dribbling in general felt really good on this card, controls the ball really well and manages to make nice quick steps to find the perfect position to take a shot

+ Positioning on this card is also really nice. I often found that should would move into a perfect open space to quickly receive the ball and take a quick shot on goal.

+ Pace is also really good on this card of course, she constantly made quick breakways from defenders and left them eating her dust.

/ Balance is the only near negative on this card but it is quickly resolved by the engine chemstyle. However I did still find on occasion under a bit of pressure she would fumble the ball.

Alex Morgan - Cop or Flop?

This is an easy one for me. Instant Cop. She was an absolute finesse merchant and I had so much fun with this card. I would go as far as to say this card will be sitting in my main team for some time. Sure it’s a 300k upgrade from the Winter Wildcard but with how easy it is to get fodder, I can’t recommend this enough. Get it done!
