TOTW 22 was always going to be a difficult side to follow and while it fails to meet the heights there are still several names worth mentioning whether that's Donnarumma’s second IF, a third for Tavernier or Pajor’s phenomenal performance with six-goal contributions.
Gianluigi Donnarumma - GK - 87 > 89 OVR
Six saves and clean sheet / Nantes 0 - PSG 2 / 8 L’equipe
After seemingly dropping off Donnarumma has upped his level the past couple of months back to what we saw at the Euro’s. It was another dominant display this weekend with the Italian making six saves to keep his clean sheet intact allowing PSG to come away with a 2-0 away win.
James Tavernier - RB - 78 > 87 OVR
Three assists / Rangers 3 - Ross County 1 / 10 Sofascore Rating
With Tavernier’s English link, he easily fits into your side despite playing in the Scottish Premiership. The wingback is in line for his third IF of the season after providing three assists during a midweek fixture. One worth forcing into your sides.
Warmed Omari - CB- 76 > 87 OVR
Goal / Rennes 3 - Clermont 1 / 8 L’equipe Rating
L’equipe was generous this week offering out 8 match ratings for fun, something which in a usual week is rare. I do expect to see an influx from the division as a result and one of those names could be Omari. The Rennes defender opened the scoring to help lead Rennes to a 3-1 win.
Sepp Van den Berg - CB - 72 > 85 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Mainz 1 - Augsburg 0 / 2 Kicker Rating
Mainz battled their way towards a 1-0 win, a well-needed result in their relegation battle. Van den Berg scored the only goal of the game, alongside picking up MOTM which could see the young Dutchman sneak his way into TOTW 23
Bukayo Saka - RW - 86 > 88 OVR
Two goals / Burnley 0 - Arsenal 5 / 9 Sky Rating
Saka continued his sublime form against a poor Burnley side. Arsenal ran away with it from the get-go go with the result ending 5-0. Saka scored two of those five while picking up MOTM with an impressive 9/10. The Englishman must be within the front runners for POTM.
Matteo Pessina - CM - 78 > 87 OVR
Goal and assist / Monza 4 - AC Milan 2 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
Monza delivered another blow to AC Milan’s hopes of catching their rivals in the title race with a 4-2 home win. Pessina both scored and assisted, giving Monza the high-prestige victory. Most featured options are not great this week so I would say Pessina is among the best considering we need three now.
Grace Geyoro - CM - 86 > 87 OVR
Two goals / PSG (W) 5 - Guingamp (W) 0 / 9.2 Sofascore Rating
Considering their consistent dominant performances it is perhaps surprising to see that PSG Women have only received two IF’s so far this year. That total could be set for three this week after Geyoro netted twice during their 5-0 win.
Ewa Pajor - LW - 87 > 88 OVR
Four goals, two assists / Nurnberg (W) 1 - Wolfsburg (W) 9 / 10 Sofascore Rating
High-scoring matches are more prominent in the female game with the gap between the top few clubs and the bottom being colossal in certain divisions. So it doesn't come as much surprise that Wolfsburg destroyed Nurnberg but Pajor’s six-goal contributions are still something to shout about and will certainly feature this week.
Ollie Watkins - ST - 80 > 87 OVR
Two goals / Fulham 1 - Aston Villa 2 / 8 Sky Rating
Another two goals for Watkins as he continues his prolific form for Aston Villa. The Englishman could finally see his second IF on the way come Wednesday after numerous times of EA ignoring the striker.
Jonathan David - ST - 81 > 86 OVR
Hat trick / Lille 3 - Le Havre 0 / 8 L’equipe Rating
David has been snubbed on a couple of occasions recently for his first IF. That won’t be happening again come Wednesday though, after the Canadian striker scored all three goals for Lille this weekend.
Angel Correa - ST - 82 > 86 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Atletico Madrid 5 - Las Palmas 0 / 9.6 Whoscored Rating
Las Palmas have been a difficult side to break down this season but Atletico Madrid had no issues this weekend, scoring five without reply. Both Correa and Llorente ran riot with both scoring twice from ST. The additional assist makes me lean towards the Argentine who seems the more likely of the pairing.
Marco Carnesecchi - GK - 79 > 85 OVR
Four saves, penalty save and clean sheet / Atalanta 3 - Sassuolo 0 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
On paper, it looks to be a routine win for Atalanta but that was anything but the case. Goalkeeper, Carnesecchi played a blinder between the sticks saving anything and everything that came his way. So while the scoreline looks easy it could have been entirely different.
Jacob Greaves - CB - 71 > 85 OVR
Two goals / Huddersfield 1 - Hull 2 / 9.5 Sofascore Rating
Hull are battling it out for a playoff spot this season so a 90th-minute Huddersfield equaliser was not what they needed. An unlikely hero popped up in the 94th minute of the match with Greaves scoring the winner and his second of the match from CB.
Carlos Augusto - LWB - 79 > 85 OVR
Two assists and clean sheet / Inter 4 - Salernitana 0 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
This could go to either Inter Milan wingback with both being involved at both ends of the pitch while also both receiving a 7.5 match rating. I have opted for Augusto over Dumfries for two reasons. The first being two returns compared to one and the second is that the Brazilian is yet to feature in a promotion while Dumfries has received a WW.
Joao Victor Gomes - CDM - 76 > 87 OVR
Two goals / Tottenham 1 - Wolves 2 / 8 Sky Rating
The initial Ange buzz has well and truly gone with the Tottenham brief title contention shouts looking like a distant memory with Champions League football now looking more and more unlikely. Wolves were the latest side to inflict damage on them with a Gomes brace helping secure a 2-1 away win.
Sebas Moyano - LM - 68 > 85 OVR
Hat trick / Real Oviedo 5 - Burgos 0 / 10 Sofascore Rating
The reserves largely selected themselves this week with several easy inclusions. Moyano was another after his solo performance saw three goals help Real Oviedo towards a 5-0 win.
David Neres - RM - 80 > 86 OVR
Two goals, two assists / Benfica 6 - Vizela 1 / 9.8 Sofascore Rating
Benfica needs to rack up the points despite now being five points clear at the top due to Sporting’s two-game advantage. A comfortable 6-1 win puts the pressure onto Sporting though after a Neres masterclass with four attacking returns.
Ansgar Knauff - ST - 75 > 85 OVR
Two goals / Freiburg 3 - Frankfurt 3 / 2 Kicker Rating
An early injury to Frankfurt striker Kalajdzic resulted in Knauff coming off the bench in only the 11th minute. The injury had a silver lining though with Knauff scoring twice from the bench to help Frankfurt to pick up a point during the enthralling 3-3 draw.
