FC 24 Golazo Team 2 Icon Predictions

Golazo Team 2 is right around the corner and with that come our predictions… Each Golazo item represents a famous Golazo scored by the player, Xabi Alonso scoring from his own half, van Persie’s volley to secure the Premier League title just to name a couple. This makes the predictions slightly easier but will we get the goals correct?

Peter Schmeichel vs Rotor Volograd (1995)

Yes, we’re including a goalkeeper in a goal themed promo. Peter Schmeichel scored headers for fun, but only managed it once at United, in a 2-2 UEFA Cup draw against Rotor Volgograd. We know GK PlayStyle+’s can’t happen but we wouldn’t say no to him being given Power Header+!

Roberto Carlos vs Tenerife (1998)

It’s not a Golazo Promo without featuring Roberto Carlos, but we’ve not included him for his iconic free kick against France (because it’s not his best goal…). He’s in for the outrageous volley scored against Tenerife in the 1998 Copa Del Rey, somehow shooting mid air from the bi-line and scoring! Yes he does have a Future Stars SBC out currently but we just couldn’t leave him out!

Ronald Koeman vs Sampdoria (1992)

Ronald Koeman may be a defender but he loved a goal during his time and is one of the highest scoring defenders in history, with 238 goals to his name. The most famous coming in the 1992 Champions League Final against Sampdoria. Barcelona had never won the competition before, until the Dutchman stepped up and tucked home a free kick from the edge of the box.

Frank Lampard vs Bayern Munich (2005)

The Manchester City legend scored an impressive 6 goals at the Etihad including one against his former club Chelsea. No, but seriously Lampard is arguably Chelsea’s greatest ever player and is their top goalscorer with 211 goals! We’ve picked out his swivel volley against Bayern Munich to represent this item. A chest, turn and finish into the far post secured a 4-2 first leg win for the Blues.

Kaka vs Manchester United (2007)

Kaka scored a number of stunning goals in his career but the one we’ve picked out is his Champions League goal against Manchester United in 2007. First a header to knock it past Darren Fletcher, then a second headed touch to put him through on goal, forcing Patrice Evra to take out his own teammate Gabriel Heinze on his way. The Brazilian then cooly slotted the ball past van Der Sar to silence Old Trafford and send Milan to the UCL Final.

Jairzinho vs Italy (1970)

Now this was probably one of the easier goals Jairzinho scored during his career but was one of the most important. It was the third of four Brazilian goals in the World Cup Final to secure their 3rd World Cup in the last 4 tournaments. He was also the top scoring Brazilian at the tournament, out-scoring Pele by 3 goals!

Eric Cantona vs Sunderland (1996)

One of the most iconic goals and celebrations in the Premier League era, there was no way we were excluding Eric Cantona from our predictions. He may have finished the season as the league's top assist maker, but this goal is what he’ll be remembered for!

David Trezeguet vs Italy (2000)

His winning goal in the Euro 2000 final may have come in the 103rd minute, but was the last kick of the game. For those old enough to remember, Golden Goal was still in use back in the 2000s which secured the victory for France. Trezeguet’s half volley into the roof of the net brought home the trophy making France the first team to win the Euros whilst being the current World Cup holder!

Who do you think will make it into Team 2 of Golazo?
